I was there. Best concert of my life. During break they came and sat with my date and I. I was in the clouds. The bar was not full. I was in the clouds by world's unknown. Best concert ever.

You say in the blurb that this is "killer stuff", and it obviously is .. if just BECAUSE it's Herbie, and the man's an out-of-this-world GENIUS .. but also I believe (COULD be wrong!) that Herbie was still -- to some extent -- finding his way, musically speaking, after having been sacked by Miles in 1968 after his late return for a gig due to overstaying his Peruvian holiday. I'm GUESSING that he had by that' time imbibed much of the wilder shores of Miles' own genius for innovation and exploration. Let's face it, both Miles and Herbie are 2 of a rare breed of way-out-in front pathfinders. The world hasn't seen many who could conceivably compare to them, and those few of us who appreciate the supernova brilliance of the best of their output are impossibly fortunate!!

Brazil not Peru, and it was Herbie’s honeymoon not just simply a holiday.

After one of the sets, I asked Herbie about the inspiration for this music. His reply, "the pieces are written to sound like they're not written."

Waooow , ....enter the space way .........Herbie with the Mwandishi , my favourite period from the great Herbie ,thought 3 masterpieces "Mwandishi , Crossings & Sextant , a truly peak of creativity featuring his greats players Bennie Maupin , Billy Hart , Buster Williams , Julian Priester , Eddie Henderson ,Doc Pat Gleeson ........The Mwandishi space ship , in her space adventures , through the distant constellations ,the coloured nebulas , unknows planets , to infinity and beyond ...........
The continuation of the Miles electric works begin with the " In the Silent Way " the "Bitches Brew " sessions, on a great quality inspirating works , , a kind of Space Jazz , organic Funk , long devellopements , amazing atmoshperes , sound relief ......
Thanks a lot for this post , a truly treasure , thanks Herbie and his fantastic players
