Ginikanwa Frank-Durugbor is passionate about creating innovative ideas and effective communication strategies to engage any audience. This is what truly motivates her.
With 18 years of experience in the industry, she has consistently delivered impactful results through communication strategies and execution. Her expertise lies in corporate communications, including strategic internal and digital communications, as well as brand management, content development, media management, and public relations. She also has extensive experience in change communications, having worked on projects involving cross-functional and global teams.
Currently, She serves as the Head of Corporate Communications at Lafarge Africa Plc, a member of the Holcim group , the global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions. Prior to this role, She was the Marketing and Communications Manager at Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc, a Nigerian conglomerate with interests in hospitality, power and oil & gas.
She holds an M.Sc in Media and Communications from the Pan Atlantic University in Lagos, Nigeria, and a B.A. in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Nigeria in Nsukka.
Outside of work, she finds inspiration in reading and writing, as well as in exploring new destinations, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and immersing herself in art, cuisine, and fashion. These interests inspired her to create a writer’s series called #3MinuteRead, where she shares leadership lessons through storytelling.
She is also passionate about giving back through training and mentoring of young professionals. She is currently a Board member of the Youth Employ Initiative, a community-driven non-profit organization focused on raising young entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs.
She has received numerous awards and recognitions for her contributions to her field including; Woman of Excellence - The Peak Performing Woman of The Year Award - 2023; Africa's Most Inspirational Women in Leadership by the House of Rose Professional Pte. Ltd - 2023; Africa's Most Inspirational Women in Leadership by the House of Rose Professional Pte. Ltd - 2022; 100 Most Inspiring Women in Nigeria by YNaija - 2022 and 40 Under 40 Women in Marketing and Communications by Brand Communicator Magazine 2020.
She is a certified Maxwell leadership coach and trainer and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
