    That was one impressive performance by Overeem. His combinations were swift, his kicks were precise and his steroids were effective.

    Incredible Overheem and very very different fight to the 2009's. Both had an amazing first round each time.

    Alistair Overeem outpunched Badr Hari, with a huge left hook, followed by a knee to the jaw to put him down the second time, for the count.

    Pretty much all these people saying that Overeem only won because of roids are most likely just butthurt Hari fans that can't accept the fact that Hari got his ass handed to him on a silver platter with a healthy serving of humiliation.
    Just watch the other videos of Hari, him throwing a hissy fit in his locker room like a 6 yr old girl who lost her doll.
    He has only done as well as he has (which is not even that good) because he was lucky enough to have come to K-1 after all the greats had retired. (Aerts, Hug, Filho, LeBanner, Hoost, Crocop, Cikatic)
    Any one of the names about would have whupped Hari's ass even more so than Overeem did in '08, had Hari been around during those years..
    Heck, the only reason why Hari even beat Aerts was because he was already so old and should have retire years earlier. (Keep in mind, neither Overeem nor Hari could knock Aerts out, even in his old age).
    Just face it, the only reason why Hari is doing as good as he is, is because K-1 is not what it once was. Admit to yourselves that Hari is just a pompous, school yard bully all grown up physically, but mentally is still in the playground, bullying kids for lunch money.

      As soon as Overeem stopped juicing he got his ass handed to him. Coincidence?

    • @jakesmith5014
      @jakesmith5014 10 лет назад +10

      BiodegradeableMan Reem was still juicing when Hari beat him too. Don't matter he still kicked Hari's ass in this fight. Hari went into this fight thinking he was gonna dominate cuz it was a k-1 match and got his ass handed to him...end of story. Rumor also has it that Badr has had his hand in some juicing too.

    • @warhammer1
      @warhammer1 10 лет назад +1

      Jake Smith yup, I read somewhere in the comments above that he got caught with a notable quantity of the stuff. Aside from his assault charges.

    • @jakesmith5014
      @jakesmith5014 10 лет назад

      Hamza Echcheikhi lol he promised he would win the 1st fight too lol. The fact is reem kicked his ass in this fight. end of story. if you wanna talk about the rematch then its tied to one each. maybe they should have a 3rd fight.

      You're talking like Badr hasn't changed. This is 6 years ago mate.

  • @BrentBowers
    @BrentBowers 8 лет назад +34

    I have to say that Alistar's knockout of Badr was definitive whereas Badr's over Alistar was really only a TKO. Some would even call that stoppage a bit premature. At the very least it was this knockout was so much more impressive with Badr's head bouncing off of the canvas.

    • @Rory695
      @Rory695 8 лет назад +4

      the second fight was fixed in my opinion

    • @BrentBowers
      @BrentBowers 8 лет назад

      One could make that argument. You know, Pride stoppages have always been suspect to me. I'm an MMA fan mostly so I like to see them at least have a chance to recover. So many times in Pride if the guy just has that momentary blankness in their eye after getting hit, it's stopped.

    • @XDKX101
      @XDKX101 8 лет назад +2

      Alistair is strong. Damn strong. There are videos of him adding weights and training his neck. Other videos of him lifting ridiculous amounts of weight like its nothing. During his steroid times (here), he was nearly impossible to KO. Watch the 2nd fight closer. Badrs kick got him. He was stunned and if its wasnt for the ropes, he would've been on the canvas. Also Badr would've followed through and finished him off if it wasnt for the ref call

    • @lambdasq
      @lambdasq 8 лет назад

      You're almost certainly right, although it is speculation Hari would've finished him anyways w/o the stoppage/
      And if it were MMA, then Reem probably would've been able to cover up and be OK. But of course it wasn't and a lot of us here are MMA fans first. That's what "Brent Bowers" probably meant.

    • @XDKX101
      @XDKX101 8 лет назад +1

      lambdasq Of course, but considering Hari's skill and past fight finishes, Im dead sure he would. Anyway, no worries :)

    *Full Story:* Badr Hari before this fight disrespected and trashed MMA and by doing so trashing in a way the accomplishments of great legends like Fedor, Cro Cop, Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, Ken Shamrock, Royce Gracie, Overeem himself, Big Nogueira and many more. So they decided to sign a two fight contract between Overeem and Badr Hari. First match (this) under K1/Kickboxing rules and 2nd fight under MMA rules.
    This fight was won by Overeem and Badr Hari chickened out of the MMA fight so it never happened. The 2nd fight in 2009 between them wasn't necessarily meant to happen but happened because they were both in the K1 tournament. And that match Badr Hari won via TKO (although he didn't win the tournament)

    • @lamperya
      @lamperya 9 лет назад +1

      Ouvereem knocked out few weeks later by the bad boy

    • @Robin-kp1nv
      @Robin-kp1nv 9 лет назад +23

      +lamperya Learn to read. I covered their 2nd fight as well. And Overeem didn't get knocked out which lead to a loss. I think you should re-watch the 2nd fight. He was a bit dizzy and knocked down twice after Badr had landed a few shots and then at the end he stumbled onto the corner so the referee called off the fight and Badr won. Because they have a rule in K1 that you can only get ''knocked down'' 3 times after that the opponent wins the fight.
      In this first fight Badr Hari got KO'd cold. He was laying on the ground not even moving. I know you're a Badr Hari fanboy (probably a muslim as well which is what most Badr's fans are) but Overeem did not get KO'd clean.
      TL;DR Badr Hari's win was a TKO, Overeem's win was a KO

      Overeem isn't good, he's so big, it's hard for opponents to fight him. I hate him. I have to admit he's somewhat a good fighter, but what helps him mostly is his big size. Badr fights a bit better, but is kind of in the same category, so big and poweful he just overruns his opponents. You can't compare any of them to good fighters such as Peter Aerts (back in the days).

    I remember when this fight happened and the K-1 diehards said it Overeem only did well because Hari had recently had a tough fight and was too injured to fight or whatever. They kept claiming that Overeem wasn't going anywhere in K-1 and would get blown away when he fought healthy opponents. Well, things seemed to go rather well for him in K-1 since then.
    BTW, I'm also a fan of K-1. I just don't like to see fighters' talents dismissed because of their background or style.

    Two world class kickboxers...but this video shows that the most devastating is BOXING...if you are superior with ur hands. The hands end fights...look at Dos Santos vs. Valasquez

    look up the weight hari was in this fight and then the fight they had one year later..if im not mistaken he was 22lbs bigger..and reem never walked around at 205.. he always had to cut to make 205..reem walked around at 220 when he fought LHW.

    Hey 9:10, check out that form difference.. I know the Reem is bigger, but tight clean technique always prevails. if Hadr had his shoulder forearm block how he was supposed to they would have just traded.

    mma has only been around for little over a decade. it's still evolving (should it allow downward elbow strikes or not?) to be considered the top combat sport considering that a lot of the techniques used are bbj (on the ground) and muay thai (standing up).

    When Badr punches he just closes his eyes and swings. That's when you get knocked the fuck out by counterpunches.

    It also allows much faster muscle recovery, so fighters can train more, and muscles won't get sore as fast, which in turn allows for better conditioning. And it also improves the cardovascular muscle (heart) for better stamina. It burns fat, so the amount of muscle in 1 cubic cm is greater than normal.

    You see that is a fair point, trash talking the UFC is a different thing. Saying that a kickboxer has to go the UFC to prove he's the best however, is not a valid point.
