“If You Raise Your Head” was penned during the second wave of lockdowns and is available on our album WHY? …
It’s the first time we have ever used a talk box on a recording, that’s the “tube thing” Lisa is using while playing her guitar solo 🙂
It’s also the first time we ever featured a Hammond rock organ sound so prominently in a song.
Hope you enjoy the studio video!
We also made some signed “Studio Scribbles” that you can check out here: mlt1.uk/ytssryh
Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa - Видеоклипы
The twins aren't a cover band
They are an authentic musical force to be reckoned with!
They ARE a great cover band and A fantastic authentic force to be reckoned with. win win
I would like to meet Mona andLisa much more , than I would like to meet Paul and Ringo! As a musician I have tons of questions for them!
Darn straight!!!
They are a fantastic cover band but also have great originals.
Another brilliant, creative original from MLT. I sure wish more folks would raise their heads enough to appreciate music like this, as well as take notice of what is happening in the world in general. A subtle message in the great grooves.
Can we just take a moment to recognize the incredible talent of not just the groovy ladies, but also their groovy dad? He not only plays an awesome keyboard, but has some serious fun doing it!! Thank you for sharing 💜💜
I took one!
groovy?
@@digital0010 Yeah man, its a word !
Are you sure that is their father?
They seem like the sort of people that would be fun to work with even as a stranger.
Talent is like that.
@@kensmith5694 I’m 99.9% sure that’s their dad. He’s been on other videos they’ve done.
It amazes me how easily Lisa's delicate fingers play with the more difficult techniques of playing the electric guitar. However, it is as if one notices some background of classical guitar. A rare case of playing technique. Fantastically talented!
Lisa lays down some of the most tasty guitar licks I've ever heard
I was thinking the same thing , she reminds me of Australian bass guitar player Tal Wilkenfeld who has the same technique as Lisa and who is also a superb guitar player .
Honestly, this is my new favorite song! I love this so much. Mona’s vocals, Lisa’s talk box, and dad rockin’ the keys! That funky rhythm is awesome. Perfection!
Same Here. No doubt. It seems a got back in time to the 60's. It sounds like Zombies, Beatles... Great song.
These two women started out great and just keep getting better with every performance.
I always say: 'good music is out there, you just have to work harder to find it these days!" This song typifies that to a tee! Keep creating, it's inspiring to so many of us!
“If You Raise Your Head” is such a brilliant song with so much musical depth and lyrical meaning for these times. The guitar work, drumming, vocals and harmonies are amazing, and in the tradition of true classic rock and roll. The guitar effects are out of this world, and watching Lisa with the talk box and bending those strings and pushing her guitar to the limit is stuff of our true rock legends, just love it. Love Mona’s stellar drumming and rhythmic magic. The singing is so expressive and uplifting and so ultra cool to see Mona and Lisa moving to the groove as they sing and play the guitar. Love the video showing us how the magic is all done, such impressive musicianship. And then there is father Rudolf doing his brilliant keyboard work dueling with Lisa’s guitar creating music bliss. Love seeing you all in your elements creating some of the greatest music today! Just endlessly impressed with your music and talents, can't get enough of it. Genius! 👍🎶💛❤💜
I don’t need to add what has already been said here. Other than I always enjoy this channel and the
Music that is created or covered. ❤
😊❤I was a beginning drummer when the Beatles hit America. I was hooked.
Yesterday I was perusing RUclips, the MonaLisa twins were playing Beatles songs at the Cavern. I am now hooked on their phenomenal talent. Besides being absolutely beautiful, their amazing singing and mastery of their instruments has me hooked once again. Thousand thanks to you ladies. I’m buying your album! ❤️. Dan G
Another MLT song that you'd like to last longer. I love it when Mona sings in a lower register and also seeing both of them playing (well bits of) their parts in the recording. The family enjoyment of producing these masterpieces is also wonderful, we really need their uplifting ways in these difficult times.
This is my new favorite MonaLisa Twins original. Lisa's talk box guitar solo (at 1:44) is sensational. And it is always fun to see Mona on her drum kit... and Rudi on the keys.
One of the great bands of our time.
When I find myself down. I will raise my head and look up playing this in my head.
Thank you Mona Lisa Twins staying groovy.
Papa Rudi and Lisa: Daddy-Daughter time from "All My Loving (2007) to today. Keyboards and Gretsch with Talk Box...wonder if their 2007 selves could even dream of this.
Also, this is the first time, since that 2007 concert, that we have seen an extended use of Mona on the drums. Mona, of course, does all the percussion in the studio, but to see her perform...so groovy!
Cant get that song outa my head. Love every thing. All those major chords and no minor!
The title lyric has literally made a change for me, by looking up from the various screens in my life, whether it is the phone,
TV, or laptop, and focusing on the blue sky and real life.
This is what happens when you spend your entire life growing-up in a recording studio. "WHY?" is proving to be MLT's best album yet.
What a brilliant song, these girls are like a breath of fresh air. Keep it up. Just purchased the album.
This is a fantastic song from the stunning album Why? and you'll find yourself humming it for days after first hearing it. Mona and Lisa along with Rudi say it emerged from a lockdown jamming session and it shows how playing around with riffs and melody in an unstructured way can really bring dividends - of course this is how the Beatles worked and look what it did for them! As well as being one of the grooviest track they have ever written it also conveys an important social message. I love the video from the studio which reminds me of some of their earlier videos and it's so wonderful to see Mona up front singing (and also on the drums) along with some incredible guitar playing and vox box from Lisa (see that guitar weep!) and of course some sublime keyboards from Rudi. The button simply named 'Like' does not do this video justice!
I don't know how I missed this release, but DANG, LADIES!
Thank you.
Had NO idea that was "DAD" tickling those ivories! Just shows the talent in this family goes further than the two amazing ladies! GREAT SONG! GREAT JOB!
And mum is also doing some magic in there s/where the whole family has been very involved in music since the girls were very young back in Austria.
Holy Smokes Ladies! This is Incredible! Such a Great Song! So Fun To Listen To, and watch.
Special guest Papa Rudi killed it on the keyboard and Bass. Lisa with her synthesizer solo and Mona on all things percussion is truly a family project. Of course Michaela in the background (off screen ) rocking out.
Thanks Ladies and Team MLT for the Brilliance of this video
"Lisa with her synthesizer solo" - its a talk box - the guitar sound is piped up a tube into your mouth and the mouth used to filter and modulate the sound and from there it is recorded via the vocals mic. No synthesiser is involved.
It's been a long time since I replayed a video 5 times just to feel the groove. Ok never and it's now 6. This is fantastic.
Just seeing the smile on your Dad's face I can only imagine how proud he is to be making this fantastic music with his two girls.
This has a serious late '60s vibe. Another incredible release.
They just keep getting better and better. On behalf of all of us in the MLT nation, thank you ladies for a very great piece of music.
You two just keep blowing me away. Great song!!!!!! Really tasty guitar work and solo with the voice box, Lisa. Your Dad kills it with the keyboards. And Mona....that groove you're laying down with the drums is perfect. Great soulful singing to boot.
Super groove, magical Lead/Talk Box interchanges, Talk Box now there`s a thing!, Poinant lyrics of our times and a video to show how it`s done. Brilliant thanks and stay groovy!.
I can’t even tell you how much I love this video…it’s perfection..unbelievable talent…and so good to see Papa Rudi on camera🩷❤️
"Tell me what you see" reminds me of something around 1965!! You girls plus dad are remarkable writers and performers I LOVE your music!!
The percussion & keyboards are well orchestrated. Keen original.
This ultra groovy song is just one of a dozen brilliant originals on their new album, "WHY?". I listen to the whole set nearly every day and can't get enough of it! Brilliant musicians, thoughtful lyricists, beautiful people!
Great lyrics and musical composition! Kind of Taxman/Sympathy for the devil vibe! Love this!
Congratulations Mona & Lisa !!! Really great job. Regards from Buenos Aires, Flavio.
Great song, with an important message for this day and age. 💯
Wow, this is a very good tune! I'm especially impressed with Lisa's guitar work.
She consistently lays down very tasty guitar parts
This is the most infectious beat from MLT since their rocking version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"
Wow! I can hear the Beatle influence, Motown and 60’s psychedelic. Has it all!
So retro, complete with period fade-out. Nice crisp drumming. Bass with a pick - worked for the sound.
Great job !
Your dad is definitely a rocker !
How can you not love this crew!
Very 60's. Could have been playing on the radio as a hit in 1967. It will probably get more listeners on you tube today.
This definitely has the 60s & 70s feel to it. Love it!
I just listened to this today (1/28) and all I can say is this is excellent! One of their best.
Extreme beauty and extreme talent.
You need to promote your songs in the USA. This is what is missing in American pop music.
Well done. Good on first listen and improves with successive listens.
Top! Great gig, video, vocals and most importantly - good fun!
Girls , you are ARTISTS ! I love your ART . KEEP UP YOUR GREAT ART !
Another brilliant song by these lovely and talented young ladies and their dad, there are definitely a few influences in this song (60s and 70s) l just wish the mainstream radios would play them, keep on rocking MLT, T and N
Love, love, love this! A fan in Michigan, USA.
Great sounding song. Really nice arrangement/production, as always, but the rhythm section and the drumming have been especially inspired and creative on this latest batch. Lyrical content has been great, too. Everything sounds fresh and different. What a pleasure to find something like this on RUclips.
What a great video!! The lead vocals and the harmonies are wonderful and beautifully blended. The lead guitarist is just excellent and the rare 'talk box' work is really fun. The drumming is tight and precise. That keyboardist has impressive chops and a lot of soul! The 'arguments' back and forth between the lead guitar/talk box and the keyboard are exciting. And a solid bass guitar keeps everything in the groove. Best of all, the skilful shooting/editing of this video takes us right inside the music's creation.
Keeping one's head down where it's safest, and signing over agency to a few self-appointed decision makers, has written many sad chapters of human history. Although its creation may have been inspired by recent events, the simple genius of this song is that it is timeless and universal. By first appealing to the heart with the fun and soulful feel of the music ... and then waking up the mind with the lyrics ... you can begin to understand how music once helped to stop a war.
These talented musicians have succeeded in distilling what was best about the 1960s. Not only have they become masters of the analog instruments of those years, they also know how to create music which inspires us to think and act!
Hi David, the keyboard player is their father, who is also the recoding engineer / producer. The mother occasionally plays tenor saxophone on some tracks. Cheers.
This groove is straight out of when your dad and I were in school. Love it!
WOW! Ive followed you for 10 years and now you really blow the minds of the musicians around you! You caught me from your first video but this is............Wow!
I am so proud of these ladies. So glad to see their fan base has grown so large and wide spread. I once claimed to be president of the MLT fan club Mississippi chapter - membership of 1 - because no one I talked to had never heard of them.
Under the tutelage of Papa Rudy and Michaela, my 2nd favorite pair of twins ( my Mom and her sister being No. 1 ) have developed and matured enormously. Each release of new original music is better and better.
Keep on keeping on, my lovely ladies.
The twins are amazing! Kudos to their parents! Talent galore in this family! Love it!
Was not expecting such a catchy 70s funk riff here. Well-played, ladies!
FUN and FUNKY! Talent and personality abound! Wonderfully catchy throw-back groove now paired with a perfectly matched superb video! All aspects amazing, but special props for the backing woo-hoos and hoo-hoos, Lisa's awesome talkbox performance, Mona's lead vocal and 🥁🪘, and PapaRudi's funky 🎹! Yet another artistic triumph from Team MLT!
Your music is the spirit of the 60s. And i love it.
I love and admire you two young ladies more and more with each new song you release. The lyrics again send the perfect message, and the vocals and instruments were, as usual, perfection. Great job girls!
Nice song with cracking lyrics, backing vocals, polished guitar work and that funky organ which is one of the best sound to come out of an instrument.
I was waiting to make a comment since this was out in the club. Just like I waited to listen to the CD start to finish. I so love this one. It gives off such a happy vibe feel and to be aware. I love multiple percussion mixed in. I so miss the Hamond sound. It is so iconic to me. Great job to Papa and his bass. Peter Frampton made the talkbox popular in the 70s. Loved hearing Lisa playoff with her guitar solo. The background vocals give me a Rolling Stone vibe too. Plus, it's nice to see Mona, I think, sing lead. Or leadish. I love seeing the studio and how you mixed all the instruments you all play. Loved it very much. Love you all and the MLT community. Peace. Stay safe. God Speed.🍻 my friends. 🌹♥️🤘
Just discovered your channel….amazing! Huge Beatles / Bowie fan and loving your music….looking forward to discovering the rest of your original music. Happy ears!
Wow, What a tune. I love it.
Woooooo came into this with zero expectations and I love the funky bluesy soul vibe and the kinda casual vocals, I bet this sounds AMAZING live.
What a great song and I love your dad getting involved.
Listen again and you realize it's actually quite brilliant! The song really has that '60's-80's sound and yet it is not a cover song, that they can emulate the feel of that era so well. is a blessing for us all. I laughed at seeing father Wagner caress the keyboard as if he was giving a full body massage to an eager young lady. 😁
Another fantastic MonaLisa Twins original! Thanks to Dad for helping out.
Another superb song from the fabulous MonaLisa twins. They just keep getting better and better. This is masterclass music.
This is my new favorite video off of the "why?" album. The words fit the times & the music fits the 60's. Great work!!!
Wow this has a sixties west coast Jefferson Airplane/ Buffalo Springfield kind of vibe going on. Love that tasty guitar solo and the hammond - the whole thing's dead good!
Simply, awesome!! ❤
Hi Twins! Your originals became better and better. Very nice!
I still have a big crush on one of the twins! Doesn't seem to go away
Absolutely amazing lead guitar sound from Mona, during the song when you raise your head.
That was Fantastic!!! Absolutely Awesome!!
I have played with many of those I admired coming up but this is another level!!
two way deal with father/Daughters I couldn't imagine the thrill of making music with my children or my father!
Guitar, voicebox, and keyboard smoke shows!!! Another great song all the way around: Vocals, guitar, keyboard, and bongos! What a pleasure, ladies and dad!!!
this is a great song ,,love the vocals as always,,, drums guitar talk box keys etc,, all cool !!!
In my opinion, this is the best of your original music . . . so far
This sounds great. That opening beat sounds very similar to a Beatles song I recognize I think, and I hope it doesn't get you into trouble nice to see your dad still very much involved, how proud he and your mum must be!
This does sound very 60's/70's and it's great that this style of music continues. 😘😘
Amazing!!! So talented.
The skill of execution has grown significantly. Great!
Always amazes me how far you both have come. This is a great tune but an even better video. Love watching how the music is made. Well done ladies, oh and dad. lol
Every time I think I can no longer be surprised by the talent of the MonaLisa Twins, I stumble onto another video and realize I was wrong.
On the right of my screen, I'm noticing the Twins covering Stuck in the Middle. If you could excuse me for a moment...
Now THAT is the way to start a day, brilliant!
again very recognizable is the style of the old Beatles, beautiful 💖
They are so talented why have we not heard these girls before only discovered them recently myself
Always loved that B3 sound
Awesome jam, with that great groove you lay down immediately. Makes me want to dance. And well, yeah, you're dancing. You don't see Mona drumming in vids very often; I love it. I love the talk box. Very cool to see the licks getting traded between keys and guitar. I'd love to see this live...
Another great video by "our" twins! Lisa on the Tele, Mona on her drums! I ALWAYS love seeing Mona on her drum kit!
A great video to start off 2023 with!
💛❤ 👏👏👏 👍
It's so cool, harnessing all that familial talent and expressively creating a song out of thin air! A lot went into this and it's a Gem!
Girls - I love this one! Love that kind of funky sound!
Love this track. It really rocks. It’s got it all and has great energy and a fine, fine groove. Great vocals and guitar and drums and keyboards. Love the “Woo hoo” throughout. Wonderful, just wonderful!
*An awesome presentation!!* We certainly "Raise our heads" when we hear MLT playing! 😃 This is such a 'feel-good' song with a nice groove and the musicianship is outstanding. Mona on Drums, Bongos and percussion; Lisa on guitar and Talk-box solo (sounded awesome). 👍 Plus Rudi's talent as well on Bass and keyboards! All-in-all, with solid singing; makes for an excellent original song! Well done and congratulations! 👏👏It's another great track off the incredible *'WHY?'* album! 💯
If I Rise my head i can see the twins singing and play good music. Thank's for all you are.
Girls girls...... awesome just love you two lady's Georgous talented and refreshing in every way! Keep up the excellent music and singing and videos and performances and just everything and know you are my favorite musicians and all my love and blessings from Cape Town South Africa 🌍❤🎉
Nobody is groovier than MLT!
The whole CD Why ist extraordinary! I'm looking foreward to hearing that there will be a worldwide hit!
Simply Brilliant!
This song, in fact the whole album, is amazing! Love the message and the music. Thank you MLT!!! 😀
