- Here, have a fun math fact! There are 6 different kinds of coins in Japan (1, 5, 10, 50, 100, & 500). So even though Hanae-san told Shimono-san that the four coins he had in his hand we're all different, it was still really impressive that he guessed it correctly!
(6 x 5 x 4 x 3) / (4!) = 15 possible coin combinations

I think your equation assumes that order matters, in this case I don't think it does, so you'd divide by the choices made factorial (4! = 24) and end up with 360/24 = 15 possible combinations

@@hiyukee yeah yeah I know that there's a 500¥ and 1¥ coin too, maybe it's just me, but most of the time even my Japanese friends, doesn't have 500¥ coin in a daily basis so I took in account that maybe he doesn't have one too cuz usually the coins in their pockets are mostly 5-100¥- that kind of feeling so yeah xD I don't know if that made sense,

Its rather incredible that Shimono-san managed to guess the exact amount of Yen, considering that he impersonates the character with the best sense of hearing.

Good hearing is pretty useful and you can even be good enough to use a bit of synesthesia with it and be able to hear sound that travels around the place then to your body (like a footstep but you hear it through the floor instead of the normal way).
But it's not like it'd be useful if you don't find any use for it anyway.

David Perez it’s true that it decreases the odd. But it still was a combination of 4 choose 6 coins, because there is also the 500 yen and 50yen. You need to have decent hearing to determine how many coins were dropped and then even with luck or god tier hearing it is difficult to determine the different sound between a 50yen coin and 100 yen coin I would say.
