- Rose plant cutting procedures are explained here which will help the growers to grow cuttings of Rose plants most successfully.
Here experiment and comparisons are given about the 3 methods of Cuttings.
Results and inference is given at the end of the video where viewers can compare the results.
A totally new method of mixing rooting hormone powder with lime or lemon juice and then applied for growing cuttings gave an Excellent Results and a great Success rate.

I have red roses in my yard and for the longest time, I have been trying to propagate them from cuttings. I have been using rooting hormone but most of the cuttings died. Just one question, why we cannot grow English rose cuttings ?
I wondered this too. Perhaps this article answers this question.
I watched another expert’s video & they said, if the Rose plant was a grafted rose, then the cutting will not come from the original “root stock” but from the grafted bits of the Rose.
Apparently, the cutting will not be as hearty as a cutting grown on the original root stock. I certainly don’t know for sure. With manny of my garden roses, I have no idea if they are grafted or not.
I believe English Roses are mostly grafted or “Hybrid Roses”? Perhaps that makes it more difficult to propagate? If you know, I’d be curious how that works.

We grow Rose Cuttings here in India in a warm humid climate specially in Monsoon months.

I live here in the mid Himalayan range of India, slightly colder than London. I usually grow rose cuttings without rooting harmone in the month of May and I get around 90% of success rate.
But you can grow rose cuttings any time between May to October in colder climates.

My english cuttings is successful like desi variety...queen mary and several english roses survived and bloomed..its a misconcept that i also use to think but...... not all but many english variety does grows..even i had impossible success with dutch variety

Rose grows leaves first and roots later. So when u see leaves dont touch it. If u slightly disturb the cutting roots wont grow. Never disturb a rose cutting
