I agree, but at the same time, I prefer “No Rest for the Wicked” over the two Jake E. Lee-era records. That one is my favorite Ozzy solo album that doesn’t have Randy Rhoads on it.
I love the first five albums big time, half of No More Tears, and a few songs off of Ozzmosis. I don't like anything that came out after at all. If only Ozzy got Jake E Lee and Bob Daisley and did one more studio album to end his solo career with. That is the closest to classic Ozzy we could ever get.

I saw both tours as well- twice on the Ultimate Sin. I lived in the DFW area at the time, and Ozzy played Ft. Worth then Dallas later that year. In the Ft Worth show he blew up the stage on Thank God for the Bomb. BTW, Metallica was the opener in Ft Worth when Cliff was still alive.
I spent 1986-87 in the Philippines as an exchange student. My mom mailed me Ultimate Sin, the cassette, and I burned that piece of plastic out. She also sent Ratt Dancing Undercover, fuken love both.
Bark At The Moon was the second album I bought after Speak Of The Devil when I was 10 years old. My mom didn't think much of the album covers but was Cool about buying them for me. I bought The Ultimate Sin when it first came out and loved Jake E Lee's guitar work but I agree it is to polished and I have to say Bark At The Moon holds a special place in my heart cause I took it and Metal Health to my 4th grade class and all they would play was Michael Jackson's Thriller over and over but I at least got them to play Bark At The Moon and that was it but I tried to turn everyone on to it but everyone was still hung up on Thriller.
Ultimate Sin is the best Ozzy album A to Z Every song Jake shines on this album Saw this tour in 86 in Chicago when I was 12 years old Metallica opened (master of puppets tour) 16th row center
@@Bogeyman19DidNotScareMyAss - True (I guess) I just listen for the melody of the tune and Jakes brilliant guitar work. (I'm a musician, drummer and guitarist) Lyrics to me have alwways been in the background. Nothing beats a great riff than the hook of a tune.
Bark At The Moon is the album that changed everything for me back in 1987 when I got the cassette tape at 8 years old. It made me a huge massive fan of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal music ever since. Bark The Moon album is so special to me that on this track by track that it wins every track for me. I love most of The Ultimate Sin album big time, but it had no chance against Bark At The Moon album. I will definitely Stay Frosty, and I will definitely continue listening to Black Sabbath as well. Just listened to the live album that is on the Sabotage boxes earlier today. Megalomania sounds so amazing on it. " STING ME"

I love Bark at the Moon so much I even like it more than Blizzard of Ozz. From Ultimate Sin I LOOOOOVE "Secret Looser" and "Shot in the Dark". Bark at the Moon is just a perfect album.
Bark at the Moon wins, no contest for me. What's funny is that it has my favorite Ozzy song (Bark at the Moon) and least favorite (So Tired). Ozzy Rules!

1. “Bark At The Moon” > “The Ultimate Sin”: I do love “The Ultimate Sin”, but this one has to go to “Bark At The Moon”. 2. “You’re No Different” < “Secret Loser”: “Secret Loser” is easily among my favorite Ozzy solo songs and certainly among my favorite tracks on The Ultimate Sin, so this is my first point towards The Ultimate Sin. 3. “Now You See It (Now You Don’t)” > “Never Know Why”: This one is pretty easy, “Now You See It”. 4. “Rock n Roll Rebel” > “Thank God For The Bomb”: “Rock n Roll Rebel” is kind of filler-ish, but it’s good filler. “Thank God For The Bomb” is just dumb. “Nuke Ya! Nuke Ya!” 5. “Centre Of Eternity” > “Never”: “Never” has some strong guitar work on Jake’s part, but I’ll go with “Centre Of Eternity”. It doesn’t measure up to anything on the first two albums with Randy, but it’s still a cool song. 6. “So Tired” < “Lightning Strikes”: I actually don’t mind “So Tired”, it’s one of Ozzy’s better ballads, but “Lightning Strikes” is just a great slice of big, dumb, fun 80s metal. 7. “Slow Down” < “Sleeping Giant”: I actually love “Slow Down”, but “Sleeping Giant” is my pick. Just such a cool, epic track with some stellar work on Jake’s part. And it doesn’t hurt that the keyboards are incorporated much more organically into “Sleeping Giant” than on “Slow Down”. 8. “Waiting For Darkness” > “Fool Like You”: Damn, I like “Fool Like You”, but no way does it beat out “Waiting For Darkness”, my favorite cut on Bark At The Moon. 9. “Spiders” < “Shot In The Dark”: Super easy, “Shot In The Dark”. Bark At The Moon wins 5-4. I can’t say either album comes close to Blizzard and Diary, but that’s honestly to be expected. You no longer had as solid a band, Ozzy was super screwed up during this time, and you no longer had the hunger that came out of the first two albums. I will say Jake absolutely stepped up on these two records, and it’s really a shame he really got the short end of the stick (but let’s face it, anybody who came after Randy would have met the same fate).

I do like Bark and definitely way more than Ultimate Sin. When Bark at the Moon first came out I was in junior high and Randy Rhoads had just died. Myself and all my guitar playing buddies were devastated. I didnt like Speak of the Devil then because I was a huge Sabbath fan and I didnt really like the way Brad was interpreting those classics (too much whammy bar for me even then!) so when Bark came out of course we were at Listening Booth waiting for them to open. Put the tape in the boom box (yes I am that old) and BAM! Bark at the Moon kicked from the moment I heard it! I will say this is the swan song for me and Ozzy. I liked each coming album less and less. I like Zakk and some ot the songs from his era but never enough to by the albums. Good battle
I think Bark At The Moon is a great album. The Ultimate Sin is OK but I don't think Ozzy sings his best on this album, but not as bad as he sings now. 1. Bark At The Moon 2. Just wanted to put this out there: NEVER buy the 2002 remixed version of Bark. I almost hate it worse than the Trujillo/Bordin remakes of the bass and drums on Blizzard and Diary. The mixing and mastering is flat and compressed, they take out guitar parts AND keyboard parts, and it's just an awful mix. The 1995 masters are the way to go for that, I think that one was reissued recently but don't quote me on that. I can't believe how awful they messed that 2002 mix up, it's one of the worst mixes I've ever heard, but I'm sure Sharon/Sauron liked it of course. Puke. I mention this since I actually made the mistake of buying that mix once. I tracked down the correct mixed one later. I don't know if Ozzy actually ever reissued Ultimate Sin, though there are a lot of copies in circulation. The 95 version again sounds fantastic though I just read Shot in the Dark is edited a bit which I never noticed since i never owned the original issuing.
Ultimate Sin all the way. The beginning of Ultimate Sin with the drums and then the guitar, bass and drums thumping is bad ass! If you ain't stomping your foot or pounding ya fist, ya might be a peter puffer. Love the guitar, drums and bass on this album.
