My hair grew 6 inches during my pregnancy, it was incredible. But now It’s frustrating my hair feels half of what it was, I had chunks coming out at a time. There’s hair everywhere in my house lol! I can’t wait to get past this. My baby boy is happy and healthy 4 mos
Pp hair loss sucks! It doesn't matter where i brush my hair, it always ends up in chuncks on the carpet and i have to struggle to get it out of my baby's neck, armpits, fingers and toes! It sucks!
Omg same here our poor babies. When I go to my mother in-laws house she makes me put my hair up she says when I leave she sees all my hair all over her floor and couches😭 I get so sad.
@@jazpatuzzo4721 I’m 3 months postpartum from my c-section and i now shed more than my dogs and I have a CavaPoo with long hair my poor baby every time I change his diaper I find my hair in his little thigh folds where his diaper hugs him I just started doing it this week it’s falling out in clumps I’m afraid to wash it😞
I never stopped my prenatals. But I did add biotin and use collagen in my smoothies. I felt like I was loosing plenty of hair through prengancy. Maybe like a 10% decrease. But right after baby came, I started loosing more hair. It peaked around 4 months. 5 months now and it seems like my hair is falling out about a normal amount. So glad. I also have like 1/2 in. of baby hair all over. Can't wait for it to fill in more!
Oh the hair loss is REAL! I pull out clumps of hair every time I wash my hair. It’s started to grow back in the front, but it’s in that awkward “too long to be hidden but too short to lay down flat” phase. I legit have a tiara of short hair in the front when I tie it back 👌
I had the same with my both babies. With the first one I just shaved my skull because I was so depressed looking at my bold spots and looking at the whole bold head was better. Gave me a chance to experiment with some wild earrings. With second baby I used Ordinary Multi Peptide Serum for Hair Density, Olaplex, Shu Uemura products and I washed my hair only once a week. That did the trick of getting them back.
Same! I love my hair. It’s one of my best features. If not the best. Plus it’s curly and takes a lot of care to remain beautiful and to grow. It’s in the middle of my back when straightened. Now I’ve lost like half of it and I feel like crying every day. I don’t think I want another baby anymore lol. Idk. It’s just too depressing.
@@Wakeupgrandowl It's been a year and things have gotten a lot better! My hair is also curly and it has recovered. I have a bit of thinning at the front still but the rest is back to normal
I had a similar experience in losing a lot of hair for months and I tried a lot of hair vitamins. The one that worked is the baby blues hair vitamins, feels like my hair is a lot stronger now!
Hi, I came across your RUclips about tips. I’m experiencing my first time about postpartum hair loss. Yes! I was very sad when I saw over lots of hair loss after washing my hair and brushing. So, my Obg nurse prevent me to try postpartum vitamins. My hair went from defined/strong/extremely healthy & I loved until now it feels dead. Your hair looks amazing. Thanks, for your tips!!! Helpful. 💜
Am I the only one who didn't get beautiful hair while pregnant but STILL got pp hair loss? I have a bald spot on the right side of my face. With my first pregnancy it grew back quickly though. I hope this time does the same thing! I'm 5 weeks pp.
The mini flat iron - that is genius! I lost the majority of my hair about 2.5-3 months postpartum. It was so upsetting, but now I'm dealing with the regrowth.
I’m having them now.. with my first one, I do not recall having it this worse. But now, it’s crazy. It’s embarrassing for the fact that, at work, my desk, clothes have so many strands of hair no matter how much I clean them up !! And yes, I’m taking my prenatals as I do have tiredness issues..
Stinging nettle tea!! It helps to break down the DHT which causes the hair loss. Basically what’s happening postpartum is low estrogen and high testosterone and it’s derivative DHT.
it’s so strange. after having covid i noticed a few months later i started losing ALOT of my hair. i contacted my doctor and she said it’s normal after you’re body was dealing with the stress. she compared it to postpartum hairloss.
PP hair loss is the worst! I had it when baby hit 6 months and I thought I will eventually just go bald. It stopped after 10 months and I’m in this awkward period where my hair is slowly regrowing but differently not at the same rate it was shedding. Plus, I realized that my scalp got really irritable and dry. It’s probably the hormones :(
Love the tips. I am seriously soooo sad about my appearance..the weight gain and damn it..now the hair loss. I got off my prenatals...and so I'll go and buy some tomorrow. I also was wondering..this hair wow powder..isn't that bad for your scalp long term? Doesn't any of this cover up hair follicles and further prevent hair from growing? I would love to cover those spots I'm super insecure about them but i want the hair to grow back..so maybe put organic product??
Exactly! 1st baby I didn't even notice any hair loss. Though currently with the second, 10months postpartum and my hair feels like it's still thinning.
Oh ya hair fall was epic! I was in denial before it started! My doctor said the same about prenatals for at least 6months or till you are breastfeeding. Thanks for the tips Susan! 😘
I never stopped taking my prenatal and my hair started to fall out before my baby even got to 3 months :( I think it was a week or a week and a half before. It’s been awful, awful! To the degree I don’t know if I want to have another baby anymore even though I thought I did. I have medium density hair, if I had super thick hair maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, but I just didn’t have enough to lose
Omg, I’m having this too at the moment, totally dreading it 😫 Btw, what lipstick are you wearing? The link you gave didn’t work, would love to know since it’s so gorg!
This hair issue on my sides is from my hair being pulled as a kid I was forced to have long hair at a young age and I’m a guy but it’s worse a bit but my sides need help please :( I’m depressed about this
Pregnant with baby no 2 coming in mid October Is there a point taking anything for my baby hairs. that I got with baby number 1 she was born Nov 2019 my babies will be only 11 months apart (lost her after 8 week❤) n my baby hairs have grown about 2 inches. Can't take multivitamins in pregnancy as I get migraines But all n all I'm happy with whatever I can do 🙂 Any advice lovely people
I’ve heard prenatals help even before you get pregnant? I’ve been TTC but haven’t committed to any kind of vitamins- do you guys actually think it helps?
Brenda Contreras yes, talk to your doctor as they can do a check up and make sure you’re not deficient in anything like VitD which could effect the baby... then they can tell you which prenatals to start on to help promote a healthy pregnancy. Good luck!
Every pregnancy is different. When I had my daughter I had no postpartum hair loss, hair looked amazing from pregnancy to postpartum. But after when I had my son, not only was the pregnancy more tiring, I had and still have hair loss postpartum and while currently breastfeeding. It's like he's draining me and taking all my nutrients lol. Doctors tend to generalize and not even point out how the same woman with different pregnancies can face different effects. Check your vitamin levels and iron, and I hope you have healthier hair postpartum :) btw, I'm guessing those who don't breastfeed and just use formula have less, if any at all, hair loss. Though, breastfeeding is best for baby so I would never trade that while I am able to produce milk
Thick hair while pregnant has nothing to do with vitamins. It's all hormonal. When you have the baby your hormone levels drop so that is why you lose your hair.
I have experienced amazing results taking the natural supplement called fenugreek. I was talking it to increase my milk production but it ended up growing my hair tremendously. I documented my results if you are interesting 😊..
My hair grew 6 inches during my pregnancy, it was incredible. But now It’s frustrating my hair feels half of what it was, I had chunks coming out at a time. There’s hair everywhere in my house lol! I can’t wait to get past this. My baby boy is happy and healthy 4 mos
I have had 2 babies and continued taking my prenatals at the direction of my doctor, and it made absolutely no difference in my hair loss :(
Pp hair loss sucks! It doesn't matter where i brush my hair, it always ends up in chuncks on the carpet and i have to struggle to get it out of my baby's neck, armpits, fingers and toes! It sucks!
Me too! I feel bad for her. She has so many rolls and hair gets stuck everywhere. Sometimes ends up in her mouth 🤦
Caitlin Williams lol “so many rolls”aren’t babies so cute when they are full of rolls 🥰🥰

You’re not and it is. I just try not to think about it too much and do affirmations. Just got a ride it out my babies five months old.

My hair is my favorite feature about my self. Seeing it fall out makes me feel so incredibly ugly

Postpartum hair loss sucks and made me feel like I would never have the same hair again. Thanks Susan for these tips!! Will use for my next pregnancy!
Amne Nagamatsu Made me feel like that too!
Did your hair grow back???
I had a similar experience in losing a lot of hair for months and I tried a lot of hair vitamins. The one that worked is the baby blues hair vitamins, feels like my hair is a lot stronger now!
A great tip is to not put your hair in a tight pony tail! The tightness will put stress on your strands too thus creating more hair loss 😢

Good nutrition is so so important during this transitional period! 💕
I take the root cover up spray and spray it over my bald spots that have a cm of regrowing lil hair
The mini flat iron - that is genius! I lost the majority of my hair about 2.5-3 months postpartum. It was so upsetting, but now I'm dealing with the regrowth.

Kimber Rose nettle tea rinses or should I drink nettle tea?
How to use stinging nettle tea?

I’m 3 months PP and I just started to loose my hair. This video came at the right time! Thank you!
My prescription prenatal STILL makes me sick. I’m supposed to have flinstones vitamins and iron but I literally never remember to take them lol
I literally cry every time I take a shower.. also, is Keratin treatment good while you’re lactating? I heard you can’t get it done until you stop BF?

It started shedding alot at 6 months. When did it start growing in?

When did it start to grow back and stop falling out??? I’m so sad

Girl mine too. I had back to back pregnancies so my hair is extremely thin. You can see my scalp. Its soo depressing ughh
I feel like ironing your hair kills it. Then you soak it in chemicals. Your hair might look good but is it healthy?
