    These cnc cut panels are engineering masterpieces. Man that would make van build very easy.

      We absolutely agree🙏

    23:47 .. YES!! Too much is not good!! :) ..Surprisingly compressed wool (or fiberglass, rockwool, etc) REDUCES the insulation value!!

    Thank you! You guys are awesome! Question on the screw on the subfloor, will that penatrate through the floor out to the exterior of the van?

    Question: in the first part where the interior cargo bay lights are removed, what do you do with the wiring runs to those lights? Cut the wire? roll the wire up and stash it in cavity?

    These videos are great. Thank you. Looking at doing a build out in the near future. We live in Canada near the mountains... so quite chilly. Do you recommend insulating the floor or kilmat and two panels of wood like in this video? Thx

    8:41 .. There are many advantages to having the CAB of the van separated by a full insulated wall .. One of them is I do not have to worry about sound deadening, as any time the van is moving? I'm up front driving :)
    I'm just starting a 1994 Chevy Step Van build :) .. great tips here though nice video!! .. very professional!!

    If you had to estimate the weight of all of the items added in this video, what would that be ? Thank you, your video was well shot and explained.

    12:13 Hmm .. I plan to use standard Armoured Romex for all 120 VAC in the new van build .. I've done tradesman style work vabs before and it works perfectly .. I'd be worrest about that basically extension cord wire wearing though any where it touches metal :(

    Great content. What is the total thickness of the subfloor panel and the finished panel you screw to it?

  • @lkazanov
    @lkazanov Год назад +3

    Very nice...what is the thickness of the floor system? Are they 1/2" each (x2)??

    • @VanLand
      @VanLand  Год назад

      The floor is 1” overall thickness.

    Why don’t you insulate the floor?

  • @sflscott11
    @sflscott11 Год назад

    So you don't insulate the floor other than sound deadening and a subfloor?

    Amazing video and kit. Jeremy-what is the purpose of the 2x pieces of 1/2" subfloor? Why not just lontape/adhere the finished lonseal floor to the single sheet that is screwed to the van metal floor?

  • @brianchetelat6601
    @brianchetelat6601 Год назад +1

    Are you guys happy so far with how the Lonseal Tape is holding up?

    • @VanLand
      @VanLand  Год назад +1

      Yes, we use it when there are a lot of cabinets going on the floor. If the floor plan is open with minimal cabinets, we recommend the epoxy method.

    how much was the cost in materials to insluate with havelock?

      I just recently purchased a 15 lb box of bats and then a 5lb box of loose which actually sticks together pretty well🎉 there are only two distributors in the United States one is in Georgia and the other one is in Arizona or Nevada

    Where’s you vapour barrier?

    • @VanLand
      @VanLand  Год назад +1

      Not recommended. Vapor barriers trap moisture inside a van, which is constantly being produced by exhalation, cooking, etc. Vans are not houses and are meant to drain and breathe since they are constantly exposed to rapidly changing temperature and humidity environments. More on this topic here: havelockwool.com/2023/02/van-vapor-barrier/?Klaviyo&Does%20Your%20Van%20Need%20a%20Vapor%20Barrier%3F&_kx=sOZ2KLfgJnPXAKy36j0ty7GQJePvBGPDCBoODy7uP-c%3D.Hgww5c

      🎉 are the man out of the RUclips named Greg Virgoe who would disagree with her reply or their reply and has several videos on his channel and experiments to prove what he knows because he makes his living insulating commercial buildings. And he is just now starting a new van build.

    So ? This kit is labeled D for driver side ? DRIVER WHERE ? In the US ? Left side of the machine ? Or Driver side in UK / Australia / Japan / India / China ⚠️ I mean Driver side is actually more the right side to most of the world than Left side to US on a tiny part of the world that seems to have given up the art of different side names like Left side of the car and Right side of the car. Terrible naming usually equals terrible design one way or another.

    • @dreamzofhorses
      @dreamzofhorses Год назад

      Well the kit is made by an American company based in California USA. So yes it makes sense that’s the frame of reference they are creating from. I’m sure no offense is intended. If you contact them they might be happy to adjust for other countries needs.
