I was fortunate enough to be at the game and got there early to see the teams arrive and Gotham FC was so kind and acknowledged me and smiled and waved and said hi and gave me high fives running onto the field and leaving the field as well - they are the definition of class and you can just tell this is a special team. When OL arrived and walked the field they would not even acknowledge me or look at me or say hi to me...nothing. Just a completely different team and sadly very off-putting. I was rooting for Gotham and I am so happy that they won - they have worked so hard to get to the finals, persevered through so much and they so deserve it and they absolutely earned it. And I just have to say this about Ali - I have been a fan of Ali since she started her professional career and I have had the honor and pleasure of meeting Ali not just once but twice. I tried to meet her several times but was never able to until Aug 2023 when they played Wave FC and the other this weekend after the championship game. I was lucky enough to be able to talk with her for a few minutes both times and she is just an absolutely wonderful person with such a special and beautiful and precious soul. She's an absolute gem. Despite all she has had to endure in her career, all she has had to overcome, and for what she is having to navigate through at the moment she was so incredibly kind to me. I was so appreciative that she gave me her time, she took a picture with me both times and she makes you feel so seen and like your time is important and she so appreciates those who support women's soccer. I am so happy she got her championship and could go out in style and be sent off to her retirement with all the love and support and celebration she so deserves. She truly is something so special and has left this game and women's soccer in such a better place and she has left a huge impact and she will be deeply missed. I heard Midge tell a story about Ali giving her an award when she was in HS. Would love to know if she ever thought they would become such great friends
Also the Karma!!!! Ali was completely ignored by Vlatko in the National team tho she is in top form . She didn’t get her retirement game like Pinoe and Julie but she leaves on top with the Championship on her back!!! I think it is well deserved specially after the way US Soccer has treated her. Carly Lloyd was right US Soccer picks favorites.
US Soccer didn't have choice about picking Alex Morgan,because she as already PICKED by American girls women mom's and most of them showed up to her games because they Loved and Love her!Period!
I feel bad for Rose, and I'm unsure why Rose is friends with Rapinoe when Rapinoe is toxic, but I'm happy for Ali who actually played the whole game and not go out on an ankle sprain. I think Rapinoe knew she couldn't keep pace and cost her team the game. I'm glad she had an anticlimactic ending and I'm happy Ali, Purce and Williams had a blow up game.

You don't know her personally a) and b) therefore also shouldn't speak on behalf of her peers either, and it is one often more times than not only expressed by men like yourself. What makes you feel so triggered about her personality is the same attributes many find inspiring in her. Let ppl have their role models. Vive Ali, vive Rapinoe.
