Faith in the message of God of His Firstborn Son: Heir of the Reward
    What will you give me?
Romans 3: the Dorean; God’s unmerited & undeserving Gift of His Son: in whom we have redemption in which Christ justifies us by His Blood sprinkled on that Mercy Seat
    Hebrews 11:8 (NASB95)
By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.
Abram walked by faith from Genesis 12-15: ungodly & unrighteous under God’s Wrath
    Romans 4:1-5
What were the works that did not justify Abraham
Works of his faith obeying, building altars, calling on the Name of the LORD; why: Paul explains; Walking by faith Abraham was in Adam
It is only when God Most High: Adonai Jehovah testified of the Seed from Abraham’s own body would be the Heir of the Reward: Lord over the possessions of God: Abraham was justified
Only believing God’s message of His Son are we justified, joined to the Redeemer: In Christ
Isaiah 51:1-2 (NASB95) 1 “Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, Who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn And to the quarry from which you were dug. 2 “Look to Abraham your father And to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain; When he was but one I called him, Then I blessed him and multiplied him.”
Isaiah 53:1 (NASB95) Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
Genesis 15: Abraham cries out: What will you give me? Paul explains the Dorean of His Son & explains the Gift Romans 3-5:
Romans 5:15 (NASB95) But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.
Paul emphasizes faith in the Gospel message in Romans:
Romans 10:15-16 (NASB95) 15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!” 16 However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?”
The Law was God’s gracious gift to Abraham’s natural descendants: a marriage vow; a covenant of love under the Authority of Covenant Love: Chessed & the reign of grace: but Israel like Abraham are unfaithful under grace; not abiding but wandering: the law showed Israel; like Abraham that they cannot walk in covenant faithfulness with God & abide in grace; no one is faithful, none Blameless not turning from His Face: there is no one righteous; that is covenant faithfulness abiding in His Grace: no! Not One
ButGod gave Abraham The Gift of the Only One who abides in Covenant Love: in His reigning grace: the unmerited & undeserving Gift: Dorean to whom Abraham was joined, just by simply believing God’s message of His Son coming into the World: Heir of His reward.
Like Abraham calling out a Bride for his son Isaac; the unique born one: Blameless before God’s Face
So God is calling out a Bride for His Firstborn Son: unique born; only begotten; Heir of the reward; & in believing joined to Christ in an irrevocable union of covenant love: redeemed, justified, circumcised, receiving the Life giving Seed to be brought before the LORD Blameless as on Mt Moriah the criteria for an acceptable burnt offering: made alive & raised IN Christ & co- heir In Christ’s Reward
It’s also important to note: Romans 4:1-5; when God justified the ungodly Abraham at about 85 yrs old in Genesis 15:1-6 after walking by obedience of faith since called from Ur ( Hebrews 11); and contemplated his own body; this own body God promised the Seed in Genesis 15; his own body as good as dead & was strengthened in faith: this happened between Genesis 20 & 21: at the conception of Isaac when he was 99 yrs old AFTER Abraham’s greatest failure of faithful obedience; not listening to the LORD about this time next year Sarah will give birth to Isaac; to whom the Eternal Covenant of Circumcision was given; that he would live before God Almighty Face:,Blameless
In Abraham’s greatest failure of faithful obedience; God promises Isaac through Sarah; and immediately Abraham gave Sarah over to king Abimelek to be his concubine bride.
From Genesis 17-21; 1 year past; from 17-20; three months past to conceive; including Abraham’s circumcision which took 2-4 weeks to heal.
Abraham learned: his reliance on his faithful obedience is dead considering his disobedience; still smelling the stench of the fire that consumed Sodom & the unrighteous
Why wasn’t Abraham consumed for his unrighteous behavior:
God is Able; has the Strength to; the Power to: El Shaddai: what He obligated Himself to perform through the message & testimony of His Son; He is Able to perform
God turned Abraham’s face to the Face of the Almighty experiencing the circumcision that happened when Abraham was justified by faith in the testimony of God’s Seed earlier in Genesis 15.
Abraham concluded that he was not justified by his faithful obedience and that in the flesh; but because God is faithful to perform His promises in, and this is so important how God emphasizes it to Abraham: only in the message of the coming Seed: uniquely born from above, as Abraham prayed to God above to open the wombs of Gerar; Abraham was born from above receiving the Life Giving Seed just by simply believing God’s testimony of His coming Seed; Lord of the possessions of God & Heir of His reward.
At the test with Abimelek; God skimmed off the dross of Abraham being in Adam & the failure of faith in the flesh; and reached into Abraham’s heart & exposed the Work He was doing in Abraham’s heart: the Workmanship in Christ; molding Abraham into the Image of His Firstborn Son: this is the faithfulness God brought out of Abraham’s heart after experiencing his failure of faith: Abraham learned what Paul explained: Abraham still with the stench of burning Sodom in his nostrils: there is now no condemnation to those IN Christ Jesus
Abraham was being circumcised in the thoughts of his heart to be transformed; His proven Character which we see later on Mt Moriah: when Abraham in Christ considered, evaluated the two; Hope in the natural & the unseen Hope of God: and chose: God is Able, has the Strength to: the Power to raise the infinite dead; as the word is in the infinitive form: Abraham would realize & inherit the Reward of His Seed through the resurrection from the dead; as Joseph testifying believing Abraham’s witness, as Joseph ordered when the redeemer comes; bring up my bones; anticipating being raised to life in the reward of Christ
The Seed of Christ being brought out of Abraham’s heart: The Implanted Seed of the Firstborn Son of God:
Romans 4:19-20 (NASB95) 19 Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb; 20 yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God,
By the way; what did Abraham contemplate about his body being 100 years old?
His father Terah gave birth to Abraham when he was 130 years old; his forefathers died 200 years plus apart from one, Abraham had other sons & daughters after Sarah died at 134 years old; it wasn’t he was going to die nor he was impotent in the natural….
What about his body he considered dead?

Hello, you may already know this, but not all versions read that way for Romans 4:19.
      Romans 4:19 (NKJV)
And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
Also the KJV, Young's Literal Translation, etc.
I read a note in a commentary that said: The negative should, in accordance with the evidence of the best MSS., be emitted. (Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers).
Not that I agree with this, just providing the info. I usually read from the NKJV cited above. I hope that you don't find this confusing but rather edifying.
What is not disputed is that Christ Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures and was buried and rose the third ay according to the Scriptures, and seen by witnesses. He was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.

Faith alone is not found in Romans or the bible, nor any Church council prior to the reformation. The alien righteousness of Christ supposedly found in Rom 4:1-25, other verses in Rom 4-5 on hope and love must be integrated into Abraham's faith. The typically reformed exegesis of Rom 3:21-4:25 ignores the new covenant, restoration of Israel, ingathering of the nations, Sabbath rest, new Creation, the sacraments and law of Christ, and fails to integrate the rest of Rom 5-8 into Rom 3-4.
The standard reading of works of the law falsely meaning any human act, rather than the Mosaic sacraments and laws contrary to baptism (Rom 6:3-11) and human works of faith, hope and love discussed within Rom 3-8.
Faith alone is a grave error contrary to the biblical witness of the elect seeing God face to face without any faith (1 Cor 13:12, 1 John 3:2). If faith alone is true, the elect are effectively reduced to a null set, making the redemption and creation entirely futile events and the biblical God a failure.
Typically faith alone theology rests upon a penal substitution atonement theory which includes many unresolvable problems reducing the Father and Son to divine liars associated with the great exchange, and ironically removing the covenant, family context of Gen 15 and replaced with an arbitrary court room context nowhere hinted at in Gen 15.
