My mom went to go see Michael Jackson there in 1988. I have always been jealous of her cause she got to see my favorite singer live and I never got to lol. Wish I could have gone to this arena while it was still standing
I went to my first Monster Truck Rally at Reunion Arena when I was 2, that started my love for Monster trucks, when I saw Reunion back in September, I cried, It felt to me that my memories in Reunion where being destroyed too along with that building. R.I.P Reunion Arena.
My first time at Reunion was back in '81 for Ringling Bros & Barnum & Bailey Circus with my grandparents. First game at Reunion was '84 Mavs VS Sonics and that place was rockin', I was blown away. My last game/time at Reunion was also the Mavs last game in Reunion. 2001 WC First Round Game 4 Mavs vs Jazz. Nash hit a three at the buzzer to put the Mavs up at halftime. In the 2nd half Dirk, Nash & Finley lit up and destroyed Utah 107-77 to tie the series. It was the loudest indoor event I've ever been to. My ears were ringing for days.. So awesome! I saw so many legends there: Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Kerry Von Erich, etc etc. I even saw the Dallas Texans Arena Football League team upset the league juggernaut Detroit Drive in 1990. So many great memories. Such a great arena. Not a bad seat to be found. She'll always be missed.
There was a WWE Pay Per View event that was held in the Reunion Arena in Downtown Dallas when Perry Saturn won that WWE European Championship belt there in 2000. Agree that
Saw many great concerts there. It was much more enjoyable, with better seating than the new AA center in downtown. In Reunion, if people stood up in their seats, you could still see over them. At the AA center, if people in front of you stand up, you have to, or or don't see down on the floor.
Reunion Arena was also the place where Garth Brooks did a concert 25 years ago. Not to mention it was televised on NBC 24 years ago. Of course, the show was entitled 'This Is Garth Brooks.'
Also, Christian singer Sandi Patty performed at the Reunion Arena in April of 1989. The video concert is called The Make His Praise Glorious Live Concert.
I'm not sure if by design or accident, but that arena had the best acoustics of any venue I visited, and I saw lots of concerts in lots of states. It was like a recording studio but livelier. Best example was Rush Power Windows tour- two nights sold out. Hated to see it go.
@@michaelcrawford1754 How the freak would you know jackwagon? Look it up I worked for DL Security and we were the security company at Reunion those days so instead of being an dbag prick troll get your facts straight before opening that sewage hole in your face.
You did a great job on the Reunion Arena tribute video I wood love too see more videos of Reunion Arena if you have them please post them I wood love too see them. I miss Reunion Arena.
I graduated from there, saw my first concert there, saw dozens of stars and Mavs games. I was sad when it got torn down, but AAC really is just a better venue, and just as loud if not a bit louder than Reunion was.
I saw a number of shows here. My favorites would have to be Family Values(w/Primus and a bunch of others), ZZ Top and George Thorogood, and the Smashing Pumpkins. My lucky ass buddy got to see Pantera open for Black Sabbath here. I couldn't get tickets...waah.
@sixflags48 I cried when I saw it for the first time in September. I saw it a year ago, and it looked ready for its next venue, but when I saw it couple months ago, reality kicked in. The Dallas Skyline is changing too fast.
@mbaehner The only thing left of the Arena is the top part, its bein held on by the 8 pilers that support it, and the arena floor is nothing but a pit of dirt now. It might be in the coming months of the roof to be imploded, then that will be the end of Reunion. R.I.P Reunion Arena
The only thing that I ever saw there was the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey (the circus) I wish I could have gone too more events Runuion Arere I do not understand y Dallas had too tear it down for I know we have aac center but Reunion Arena was not that old so y tear it down that make no since to me.
@ENTERTAINMENT35 Thats the power of the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR my friend. A perfectly good arena that seats 17,000 forhockey and over 18,000 for basketball gets torn down. Thats all because of the money my friend.
I miss Reunion Arena me and it we were built at the same time 1980 I just being funny but in all serious Ness I was Born in 1980 and I can’t believe that the city of Dallas just tore down down that’s not far I saw a lot things there like the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus and Disney on ice and Paul McCartney and wings just too name a few it is so sad to me that they just could have just fixed it up but no they just tore it down that’s really sad
Reunion Arena Dallas Tx was built-in 1980 and I was born in 1980 it is vary sad that Downtown town Dallas Tx tor down Reunion Arena and y did that is vary stupid of down town Dallas too just demolishes it then then too just fix it up makes no sense to me it still been saved had a lot of good year's left
thunderstruck665 To keep the Mavericks and Stars in Dallas. It didn't have enough luxury suites, advertising space, etc. The concourses were probably too narrow as well. It all adds up to how much money a franchise could make playing in that arena.
@dallasfan419329 To give the people something to see when they demolish it completely. Whoever decided to demolish Reunion Arena needs to be slapped and kicked, they could get themselves outta the "debt" they say they have.
Yep Dallas would have won game 7 anyway dude they were clearly the better team in the series . Clearly you just salty that Dallas owned buffalo in the 90s thanks for the two super bowls and the Stanley cup
Louisville Beat Duke to Win the 1986 National Championship which was the second for the Program. Reunion Arena will always hold a special place in my heart 💓
very ugly building, weird how they just destroy a building thats under 30 years old. My building Maple Leaf Garden is being converted into a grocery store and athletic facility for Ryerson Unversity.
So many memories here.
My mom went to go see Michael Jackson there in 1988. I have always been jealous of her cause she got to see my favorite singer live and I never got to lol. Wish I could have gone to this arena while it was still standing
Great times; great shows; unforgetable bands: The Who, Fleetwood Mac, Commodores, Queen, all during 1980, living in Fort Worth.
I went to my first Monster Truck Rally at Reunion Arena when I was 2, that started my love for Monster trucks, when I saw Reunion back in September, I cried, It felt to me that my memories in Reunion where being destroyed too along with that building.

All I can say is I'm really gonna miss the place, lots of good memories. And we were born the same year.
I saw a WWF show their in the 80s and a Depeche Mode concertl in the 90s. Oh and I also attended the circus their several times in the 70s.
World Class Championship Wrestling at Reunion Arena!!!
I graduated HS there, saw countless concerts. Miss that place and miss the Bronco Bowl too.

No you didn't

I drove by there many times over the years, it's a shame that it's gone.

Went to a ton of concerts at Reunion.
Home Sweet Home video for Motley Crue was filmed there.
@David S Google says it was filmed at Reunion Arena. Sorry, bud. Also, Queen recorded the video for "Another One Bites the Dust" here.
No it wasn't
@sixflags48
I cried when I saw it for the first time in September. I saw it a year ago, and it looked ready for its next venue, but when I saw it couple months ago, reality kicked in.
The Dallas Skyline is changing too fast.
I met Bob Chandler there and he picked me up and he put me up in Bigfoot 2 when I was a young boy
I'm pretty sure that didn't happen
I miss it
My dad run the union painting work there when it was being built.
No he wasn't
@mbaehner

2000 was in Dallas. 2003 was vs Anaheim.
What caused them to tear down reunion arena
Mavs played here 1980 2000
It has happened today, Reunion Arena is no more, demo crews tore the last remaining piece of Reunion down today.
your dates are off. The Stars and Mavs played there past 2001. In fact NJ won the cup there in 2003.
Monster Jam 2006
I saw it today, they destroyed evertything but left the roof there, it looks real weird.
Reunion Arena 2009 Demolished and in March 2010 Texas Stadium will be demolished
Reunion Arena Dallas Tx was built-in 1980 and I was born in 1980 it is vary sad that Downtown town Dallas Tx tor down Reunion Arena and y did that is vary stupid of down town Dallas too just demolishes it then then too just fix it up makes no sense to me it still been saved had a lot of good year's left
brian adams and journey 1983
if y'all look up I-35 Boyz All In A Year's Work you'll notice the reunion arena right in front
and they felt the need to make the american airlines arena with Reunion Arena only being a good 23 or so years old.... thats rediculous.
What was the point of demolishing a twenty-nine year old arena???
thunderstruck665 To keep the Mavericks and Stars in Dallas. It didn't have enough luxury suites, advertising space, etc. The concourses were probably too narrow as well. It all adds up to how much money a franchise could make playing in that arena.

cheaters!! that cup?Brett hull was in the crease hasek was the best goaltender and living in the best city in the world buffalo ny
That wasnt Reunions fault. And "cheaters?" Howd the Stars cheat? Blame the refs, buddy.
He got 1 thing right, Hasek was the best goaltender in the world. Thats the only reason why that bad Sabres team made it to the cup finals that year.
