I am so ready to learn Spanish because that is my fiancé’s language. I have tried so many different ways, but it just seems like nothing sticks. I am in the process of getting her and her daughter, from Santo Domingo, to Wisconsin with the fiance visa. She will be the one who will have to learn English the most, but I still want to be bilingual so I can communicate with her easily.

Hola. I have a question for the more experienced on here. I love Danny and his teaching. I am pretty new here and trying to teach myself Spanish which I’m excited to learn. I am all the way back to his older videos on how to tell time and doing my best to remember the terms etc on the previous lessons but find that when I get stuck on a lesson and then try to go back and practice previous lessons I already forgot terms etc. Has that happened to many of you or do you just keep moving forward? I know not everyone’s going to retain every single detail but just needed some advice on how to do this successfully. Danny, not sure if you will read this but wasn’t sure how many times you have heard this also.
Thank you for your time 😊

A lot of people learning Spanish want to get to a certain level where they can drop the pronouns and just say, “Tengo, Tienes, Tiene,” etc. They think they are going to sound more natural and blend in. As a learner of Spanish living in a Spanish speaking country , I would say you shouldn’t always do that. Here’s why: 1- You’re not going to just “blend in.” They will know Spanish isn’t your first language by your accent, the way you look, etc. There isn’t really any blending in going on. 2- When you use the pronouns, you have more time to say what you want to say. It gives you more time to formulate your sentence or phrase you want to use. 3- By using the pronouns, it gives the listener more clarification as to what the person is trying to say. As learners of Spanish, we are going to make mistakes and the little bit of extra information could be helpful to the listener if we mispronounce a word or use a word incorrectly.
