Thank you for the tutorial you created ! From beginning to end 30 minutes battery replaced and not once did I use profanity and thanks for being humble and not talking for ever and playing head banging music not needed
That bonnet extension is a hidden gem . Not many people know about it . Thanks for showing us. I am hoping to hold the charge and keep continuous supply by plugging in my battery pack jump starter to avoid any resets hope that works and saves me a lot of problems later. I am about to but a replacement battery from Mercedes for C300 . Price quoted $240 for the battery. They wanted $490 with fitting so I’m glad I saw your video it will hopefully save me money even though I’m terrified to do it myself .
Thanks for video. Please note that before disconnecting the cables from the old battery terminals, it would be better to connect another 12V fully charged battery using the special connectors provided for. The red (+) connector is located right in front of the battery place, and is protected by a sliding red cover above it. For the (-) connection you can use the bronze connector located nearby, or any other part of the engine or chassis. Doing so, all settings and adjustments (time, date, exterior lighting, automatic mirrors foldind, etc.) will remain steadily unchanged. When finished with new battery installation, those extra connections may be carefully taken away.
@@rob-fb5xs Yes my friend, you are absolutely right! There is a great possibility for the positive terminal to touch the body of the car during the removal of the old battery. One safe solution is to isolate the terminal by wrapping it with a thick paper or plastic cover. Thank you for your observation.
Niko, this car does have already an auxiliary (second) battery connected to the system. Therefore there‘s no need to connect another battery while replacing the main battery. And yes, very important to isolate (wraping it up) the positive terminal when you disconnect it!
Hi there. Does a replacement AGM battery need coding to the car. I have a 2015 w212 E220 and need to replace my origional battery. My Icarsoft cr max scan tool doest have mercedes as a manufacturer in the list for battery registration. Thanks
Can you tell me if Mercedes (A207) E350 CDI Cabriolet 2010 (231BHP) will need the electrics reset after replacing the battery? Also how long should I let the vehicle sit before replacing the battery? As I understand that after removing the key most of the systems are still live and pulling power.
Hi, i want to ask you about the battery drain hose. Do you have to make a hole in the battery or ? I ask because i have the same battery but the hole where you attache the tube is plugged, i don't understand how it will drain if necessary. Thanks
I replaced the main battery on my W212 (it only has one) using the same technique has shown on the upload, and no additional work was needed ie electric window one touch learn or radio presets reinstate. The upload shows the correct procedure for carrying out this maintenance task.
I saw that you are using Bosch 80ah battery. Is that reccomended battery as I thought that 95ah 850A is recommended. And what's the purpose of AUX battery?
Is depend on what options you got, this car was kinda basic and only had the 80ah. Aux battery maintains some important systems don’t know exactly, but things as ECO start/stop
How do I know when my battery needs replacing? This "blue efficiency" rubbish never really charges it fully, I get a constant roundabout 12,5 V while ignition is on but motor not running. When running I have 14,5 V roundabout from the alternator.
I watched the video and still dropped the screw 4 or 5 times. I was confused as to why he put the black metal brace on before putting the battery in but then I kept watching and noticed he actually put the black metal brace on after he puts the battery in
Battery Fett or Vaseline on the Battery terminals? For many years I have only used Varta Batteries, there are many good dealers where you can get good discounts, in Germany anyway, great Channel BTW!
No it’s cool to take it out without charging. For mine model no issues only clock setting. Could not find any document from mb that’s say it could harm the electrical system to take power out. But you should wait for all system to shout down properly before removing it.
I have a C300. The battery holder bolt fell off the bottom when removing. I can't get it back on. The battery was also an inch less length. Auto parts store said no problem it should work. It fires up, but now NO RADIO.
This is a W212 which is an E Class. There is an auxiliary battery in the trunk, main one under the hood as you saw. Possibly a smaller 2nd aux battery behind the headlight switch inside the dash as in my E coupe as well, can't remember

Pretty much I guess 👌
I don't see Bosch S5 A11 batteries in the states for sale.
Interesting it more for European market with Bosch I assume 🧐
Is it ok to install other brand battery on Mercedes?
Absolutely no issue 👍
Does replacing the battery reset both the analogue and command clocks?
Yess command clock it’s reseted. Not sure about analogue but it’s should keep running 🤔

I heard that power management unit needs to be reset via OBD after changing battery, is it true?
According to mb documents is not necessary!
there may be some truth to that... at least the engine ECM will have to relearn charging the new battery.
Does the main battery need coding? My stop start is orange and brake hold is not working
yes
People keep telling me to take it to the dealer. Do they do anything different, do they do anything to the system, does the system need to be set?
Do it yourself, you will save $$$$
I was told warrantee would be canceled if I replace my battery with an aftermarket battery how true is this?
Can not give answer about that. But guess it’s pretty important to follow your dealers advice if you got warranty.

better than the Varta OEM?
How do you figure??
Wrong wrong wrong. That is completly wrong way. Recording so many fault codes and loose memory car. WRONG!!!!!!!
