@@lyrablack8621That’s a ludicrous statement but if you have to commute a significant distance/time to work you should definitely get a tax deduction for it.
Any time you work off the clock means your total hourly pay is being cut by however many hours you’re not getting paid. If you work 10 hrs but are only paid for 8, even if your pay is $12/hr, 12x8=96, divided by 10, now your hourly pay is $9.60/hr over that 10hr shift since you worked 2 hrs for free. @tjsam805 There's a lot of things your job can't fire you for. They just reduce you to 4 or 8 hours per week, and then you have to find another job anyway because you can't live off that amount. @tjsam805 I'm not sure if that would work in these jobs where hours are always changing. That seems easier to prove in jobs where everyone is always full time. Got COVID, manager yelled at me and said I should’ve “planned better” and it was my responsibility to contact my coworkers and find coverage. I was new and shy so I had nobody’s number, she yelled at me for that too. When I got better first thing i did was turn in my two weeks. She told me to put it with the stack of everyone else’s two weeks. She also would bring her infant in a stroller and park it by the register her whole shift Also brushing sexual harassment and assault under the rug. I worked at chipotle for a year. They purposely understaffed us so we had to rush. We were the only chipotle around so lines went literally out the door. Sometimes the cashier had to double as the cook and leave people waiting to cash out. Because of this every customer would yell at us even if we were understaffed. Managers told us to short people on the weight of chips if we were low even if the employees paid full price. The trash would always overflow. No one swept. People kept stealing online orders. The manager was always sitting on there ass in the managers room. Huge hills of dishes. The only cool people were the grill people. They worked there ass off and have no complaints with them. I worked at Pizza Hut this last 2 months (just quit) I worked for 2 weeks before they gave me employee of the month so I wasn’t even there a month working yet but still got employee of the month. Well long story short they were abusive condescending and were still money from me! I left quick! I lost a family member a month ago and I went into work an hour early to talk to my manager about maybe leaving early that day to spend some time with my family and before I could even get it out I was being attacked and screamed at!
Work at a resturaunt and we don't get breaks. It's sureal to think that it's legally required everywhere but the resturaunt industry. I worked 11 hour shift on valentines day with no break and almost passed out. Got yelled at by so many people because the owner overbooked the resturaunt and people had to wait up to an hour for reservations. They require those hours of me every holiday. Oh yeah. No paid time off, paid sick leave, or benifits either :)

Yes I was a manager at chipotle I was a new service manager I was a kitchen manager but got promoted … all I had was new hired for my shift and then just remembered most of the new hires were still in school so I couldn’t do them dirty and had them stay for long because we had a terrible shift so I stayed till 3 pm scrubbing dishes and doing most of the cleaning while my general manger was chilling at home … and they preach about being a team .
Its times like this were im happy workers rights are actually protected in Canada (at least on paper) America needs worker's rights on the FEDERAL LEVEL.
Sounds like the Nursing field! Same thing!
Profits over people. That is the root of it all.
I support unions and incremental change but systemic change is what we need if we are to cure the underlying disease that seeks to profit from these types of working conditions.
@juqual78 As a businessman/biz owner,
I LOVE UNIONS!!!
I Love Unions because I need what ALL small biz owners need; I need CUSTOMERS!
CUSTOMERS are Consumers with Money. Union Workers organize and fight for a Living Wage = Money. Because Union Workers are ethical and work to get Money for a middle class lifestyle, they can become my (and Your) valuable CUSTOMERS.
Because non-union workers are too timid and/or ignorant to organize and instead choose to work for slave wages, they will likely Never become my (or Your) CUSTOMERS. Non-union workers choose Not to be middle class and instead choose to be poor slaves; they and their Handlers (aka greedy Corporate Overlords) are a shameful drag upon our economy.
Unions also keep corporations honest when they are trying to break laws to screw their own workers. If they are willing to steal from their own employees, they won’t hesitate to steal from other businesses or from the government. An honest business practice aims to benefit everyone involved and to take care of the environment for future generations so that there is a future customer base serve, future workforce to continue to employ and future marketplace in which to continue the business.
I quit my job at Chipotle after two weeks because I was so busy throughout the day that I couldn’t use the bathroom. They didn’t have anyone to cover for me for even 5 minutes
Only job worse than Chipotle was Starbucks. Made $12/hr for a job that’s worth AT LEAST $25/hr
Dude Sonic does not give breaks even in 8-10hour shifts. Also lots of working off clock cause labor is/was high
Walmart lost $3 billion last year due to theft, and closed 13 stores, but made $27 BILLION in four (4) months from profits. I'm crying crocodile tears here.
I worked here and it was difficult to realize that it's dirty af the location I worked at was busy and dirty I don't remember management ever being responsible they was young kids they all hated it and how difficult it was to keep this place simple clean was never 😮
Got COVID, manager yelled at me and said I should’ve “planned better” and it was my responsibility to contact my coworkers and find coverage. I was new and shy so I had nobody’s number, she yelled at me for that too. When I got better first thing i did was turn in my two weeks. She told me to put it with the stack of everyone else’s two weeks. She also would bring her infant in a stroller and park it by the register her whole shift
Also brushing sexual harassment and assault under the rug. The manager who hired me openly flirted with underage staff and groped one of the staff I was friends with. He threatened the dude if he snitched he would fire him. Everyone knew about it but no one said anything because the poor guy didn’t want us to “make things worse”
That manager later got fired for being caught having sex with an employee in the hallway where we take our trash out. There’s cameras.
This is why I swear not to work in fast food, they’re super sketchy. I’ve worked in retail for about 5 years, but I wouldn’t say it’s great either, but definitely no fast food.
True. Retail and grocery are slightly better. I work at Trader Joe’s and it’s much better than Chipotle, Starbucks and every restaurant I used to work at
@@MS-we9gn Trader Joe’s seems like a good place to work for. The one closest to me was the first ever unionized Trader Joe’s! Got to meet the guy in one of my college classes who started the union and it seems they’ve got quite the environment up there.
Now I am SO glad that I work with amazing people 😭
i’m 17 one time i started my shift at 4pm didn’t leave till 12 am. AT 16 YEARS OLD I WASNT EVEN 17 YET MY FIRST TWO WEEKS THERE. so many more stories js waiting till my two weeks is up.
I remember a manager clocked us out while we were still closing -> yeeeah we laughed and walked out. Openers were pissed at us till we told them what happened.
Where is our Government this is horrible she is ambitious young worker this company should be investigated and this is just one person
These corporations are all the same. They take their employees for granted. However, if the employees don't show up or quit how much would they make?
Never even mentions the rectal bleeding that anyone that eats there has until their bowel is empty
It was an abusive relationship, I stayed mainly for the free food
Sounds like my experience there. Only lasted two weeks. I worked at the register and could never get a bathroom break because they have no one to cover for me for 5 minutes. Ridiculous
We were in a busy location too, so the line was always wrapped around the building
Most of these employees need to learn the law.
right. all the time they spend on their phones and non of them Googled labor laws? every job I've had they were posted right next to the punch in clock.
I just noticed that they now allow you to tip the staff when placing a pick up order on the Chipotle site, I tipped but I don't know if the workers are actually getting the tip? Can anyone let me know if you work at Chipotle are they giving you tips for online pickup orders?
how do you report off the clock work?? my manager does that all the time
I worked at Pizza Hut this last 2 months (just quit) I worked for 2 weeks before they gave me employee of the month so I wasn’t even there a month working yet but still got employee of the month. Well long story short they were abusive condescending and were still money from me! I left quick! I lost a family member a month ago and I went into work an hour early to talk to my manager about maybe leaving early that day to spend some time with my family and before I could even get it out I was being attacked and screamed at!
This is how almost all fast food places are ran not to mention most of threst of the country especially being short staff on purpose
Ya my wife worked for them and they treated her like trash ya she walked out😮
And restaurant owners wonder why no one wants to work for them... 🤦
I’ve been saying this for years. Replace all the employees with bots. Have one person run it and pay them 100k a year to run the bots.
Not gonna happen any time soon
Chipotle fired me when my wisdom teeth came in impacted and infected not fun and getting my money from they was super difficult. If I had money at the time i definitely coule of taken them to court.
Labor laws aren't the only regulations Chipotle ignores. They also dont follow food safety rules, which is why they've been the source for multiple e coli and norovirus outbreaks.
One of the reasons i dont go there, they treat their employees like garbage, so they get no money from me
You are an amazing young lady!! God bless you! People would sell their soul nowadays to just be politically correct instead of standing up for what they believe in and for the right thing to do or say! Keep your passion and fight for what's right!
I worked at Chipotle
Almost all food service industry jobs are hard .
I never had any of these issues but quit after finding a better opportunity.
Seems to me these employees don't have a problem with Chipotle corporate but a problem with their immediate management ...
Nor an entire store 😆 🤣 😂 😹
This all really depends on your manager. I have friends who work at a chipotle and it is nothing like this.
I had already decided to never eat at Chipotle because they made workers show up with stomach flu and caused huge norovirus outbreaks. Now I think i will protest any new Chipotle store applications at the zoning board. Cant think of anything else to do thats more than a boycott
I use to work for them as well and left when they cut my hours and only had me making guacamole because I was going threw chemo lotion treatments and my face was chemically burned.
That treatment is rampant..
I never understand why some managers would adjust hours and do all kinds of illegal stuff for a company that is willing to fire them just as fast if not faster than they do their regular employees..... Why put yourself at risk because when the company gets in trouble for hours being cut and not giving breaks, they're going to blame the management and fire them and make it seem as if they didn't agree to that the managers were just acting on their own accord.
Sounds like Buffalo Wild Wings got me a check too 😂
I got a write up for not showing up during a hurricane
Off the clock work is laughable! I clock out then I walk out 😂
Thats why being able to unionize should be protected in the constitution.
As a businessman/biz owner I LOVE UNIONS!!!

And Fed Jerome Powell thinks workers are overpaid.
Also their portion sizes are shrinking.
Every job in America! Let’s all walk out tired of the bs
same as walmart with under staffing and rushing to do 4 different jobs
Kids getting screamed at is “traumatizing”? Lmao okay
They still get my order wrong
I'm not even sure how this kind of unionization would work. Walmart's unionization fell apart because the part timers didn't care about unionization.
I worked at chipotle for 5 years. MANY chipotle stores across America work people off the clock, I have seen it multiple times.
Like at gunpoint or....
@@molonlabe820like at the threat of losing your shift or your job which could mean your next car or rent payment which means no means of getting to work or having a home to come home to. There are ways to threaten your way of life without taking a gun to your head.
I worked at chipotle and loved it. Cleanest kitchen I've ever worked in and we made alot of tips. Also we were never understaffed so i don't know, I guess I got lucky.
I work at 7:11 I am shift lead. I'm alone everyday for almost 9 months. I work Monday through Friday 2 to 10 sometimes randomly have to do doubles. I do all the deliveries I have to make and sell all the food and run register. I make 12 an hour.
You don't need to unionize and fight that kind of working condition. That is completely against federal labor laws. You have a lawsuit on your hands that you will easily win.
What are they doing at a Chipotle at 6:00 am? I call BS.
typical working at any restaurant...I try not to eat at restaurants 🙄 ,especially fast food 🙄
Explains why their stock is so high.
Sounds like Chipotle is getting sued
It also tastes like hospital food
I can thankfully say I've never eaten nor will I ever eat anything from chipotle
Yea im not gonna clock out and keep working. And if you fire me for it, ill sue your ass!
And she’s payed by a rival
every one of them applied for the job and got it, so what are they complaining about ?
The illegal practices of the job
@@jinglecat3678
Doing a job, and getting paid to do it is illigal ?
@@fentonb9520 it’s illegal to make people clock out and keep working
I don't know how it is in the US but I would love if you guys put ALDI under a magnifying glass, I worked there for two years after they "rebranded" away from their bad rep but where other stores had 10 people we had a similar size with often 3 and some other shady shit.
I wish workers would understand this is happening everywhere...where there are workers ! There is an economic doctrine and from this flows a policy for labour. We need a general strike across the globe..if we don't..expect things to get worse.
Facts! I currently work there, but thank God my last day is in two weeks!
The manager would like former employees to visit him/her in their home driveway, way after dark.
Never ate at Chipotle. No I don't think I'm really ever missing out I rather cook my own Mexican food at home!
This is Tim Hortons in Canada Ontario
Americans CAN ask for equality. Conservatives just dildoing the need to progress. This types of unfair employment abuse, is something conservatives are working extra hard to not allowe workers to do, ask for FAIRNESS ⚒️✊
This is many many workplaces. Staples is just as terrible. Their anti union training video is magic.
Sounds like they need to fire a bunch of winers
Nice worker solidarity
After seeing this video I can honestly say Chipotle has permanently lost a customer. Hope it was worth it to him I'm probably not the only one.
It was.
