NOTE: for over 30 years now, those countries you mention have not been stable( always fighting civil war), neither have they sold any reasonable amount of food items to countries like nigeria. In the time past, our agricultural dependable partners had been fellow west africans in the coastal region. the northerners had imported mostly only terrorists and people running from war torn territories. In fact, they do not even speak english language but french which made it difficult for an average nigerian traders to easily flow with them. Hence, because of the nigerian northern terrorist government, our boarders had been opened to them while southern, eastern and western boarders had been closed, which has caused only hardship for us. Until the northern boarders are closed, and the other boarders in the east, west and south are opened, we will never have food and trade security, neither are we going to overcome the challenge of islamic terrorists. In the 80s and early 90s, food items like rice and sugar or salt common in nigeria were from importation through the sea. Then we had food like Uncle Bens rice, Dicon salt. all these were very cheap until the northern fulani military leaders closed those boarders and importation to make ways for the expensive and inferior quality food from niger republic and northern axis solely controlled by northerners like Dangote and others. This was the cause of 'AUSTERITY' situation and slogan of Shagari regime. Till date, we have not recovered from that austerity because the north has since then resisted every attempt by souther presidents to reopen those southern boarders or break the monopoly. You seem not understand how these countries are acting as defence barrier against terrorism in the coastal countries. In fact, the coming of AES is what has improved security!You seem not see how coastal countries depend on these countries for their businesses in terms of them using ports,transporters etc. Where does the beef ( meat in general) consumed in coastal countries come from?
@@chongomukupa4467 we actually do not need those northern countries for food or goods transportation or sales versus purchase. NOTE: for over 30 years now, those countries you mention have not been stable( always fighting civil war), neither have they sold any reasonable amount of food items to countries like nigeria. In the time past, our agricultural dependable partners had been fellow west africans in the coastal region. the northerners had imported mostly only terrorists and people running from war torn territories. In fact, they do not even speak english language but french which made it difficult for an average nigerian traders to easily flow with them. Hence, because of the nigerian northern terrorist government, our boarders had been opened to them while southern, eastern and western boarders had been closed, which has caused only hardship for us. Until the northern boarders are closed, and the other boarders in the east, west and south are opened, we will never have food and trade security, neither are we going to overcome the challenge of islamic terrorists.
In the 80s and early 90s, food items like rice and sugar or salt common in nigeria were from importation through the sea. Then we had food like Uncle Bens rice, Dicon salt. all these were very cheap until the northern fulani military leaders closed those boarders and importation to make ways for the expensive and inferior quality food from niger republic and northern axis solely controlled by northerners like Dangote and others. This was the cause of 'AUSTERITY' situation and slogan of Shagari regime. Till date, we have not recovered from that austerity because the north has since then resisted every attempt by souther presidents to reopen those southern boarders or break the monopoly. You may research these out. We do not need any of those northern countries, they need us and had be serious problems for us
