Ah I get so excited when I see a new episode! I love your perspective and detailed breakdown, how you try to maintain as much of the original ideas as possible and fix the parts that don't work, rather than just rejecting the films entirely. Star Wars is somehow so stupidly polarizing, it's refreshing to see a modest, calm critique.
That's a good way of putting it. I'd say 5% of the prequel trilogy really does need to be changed. Arguing if that's the case is a distraction, people overlook all the best parts. After making a few subtle changes to 5% of the movie, the prequels become become quite great. Thanks for noticing what we've been going for. -DZ
The blood testing of Anikin doesn't seem that out of place. We can test for blood sugars, so having the ability to pull rare spectral data from a blood sample wouldn't be that far out there. As for sending that data over to the ship to process, maybe the device used to obtain the sample can only ran a data set but a more powerful analyzer is needed to understand the data and see if a person has enough midi-chlorians to be useful to the Jedi.
The Jedi don't know Palpatine is Force sensative. His midichlorian count is as high or higher than Yoda's but lower than Anakin's so it would have definitely been flagged as unusual and of immediate interest to the Jedi council. But since Palpatine came from a rich and influentual family on Naboo his parents were able to have his results hidden or alterered to keep the Jedi from knowing about their son, and they only used discreet private medical services after the initial mandatory testing to avoid his midichlorians from ever being detected. Up until he revealed his power at the end of episode 3, he kept his power in the Force hidden right in the Jedi's faces. That unexpected reveal is exactly why 3 Jedi Masters died nearly instantly when trying to face him. When he drops the mask and lets them feel his power in the darkside as he launched himself at them it terrifies them and slows their reactions. My intial thought of that scene was that he must have hit them with the same Force paralyze move that Darth Malak uses to freeze your friends in the KOTOR game lol
There are so many wonderful things in the galaxy. We can't all notice the same details, especially in real time. Might as well share what I see when I look at the movies. I have such sights to show you. -DZ
Qui was right. It would be stupid to sit on a council that all constantly agrees. That’s how frivolous mistakes are made and how they completely missed a Sith Lord in front of them
This turns up later in the Geonosis arena. Because Obi-Wan has a reputation as such a hoopy frood, people are willing to lend him a few items he might have misplaced. Such as a pair of lightsabres. -DZ
@@thebreadcircus that's how Obi-Wan do. If I remember the tragedy of General Grievous correctly, Kenobi is a much better shot than the best Vogon. Although he preferred a more civilized weapon old Ben had proven his proficiency with using the "force aim" long before teaching Luke the Neat Trick to close the eyes, stretch out the senses, remember the wamprats and trust in the Force. If you can't see it, it can't see you, right?
C3PO is even his older brother 👀 and they both lost a limb (or several) at Bespin! Edit: Got me thinking... what if C3PO was Anakin's father? When he built C3PO he might've used all kinds of devices he came by... one of them could've been Shmi's... "device"... which somehow made her pregnant.. and since C3PO often loose limbs Anakin might've inherited that aspect of him and passing it on to Luke! 🤔🤔🤔🤔🧠🧠🧠😱🤯
The midiclorian count scene is easy... the communicator is used to transmit the data to the ship where the data can be read... there's not a display on the communicator.
Old Republic law alowed the jedi to take children against their parents will. Palpatines parents hid his force sensitivity on purose if i recall correctly.
Your dead space clip made me think about how the multi tool in the game might suffer from the same drawbacks as earth based ones do. The hole thing about the more functions you give one item the worse it gets at each of them thing.
Its far easier to show where the Jedi Council is: The 4 spires are at the same height. You can see at least one spire several times (like at 47:15) at the same height. That wouldn’t be possible in the center tower.
As a kid, I'd had to rely on the library system. Even though I'd only seen the droids book a couple of times, it turned out I'd accidentally memorised most of it. I got my own copy just a few years ago, along with most of the Essential Guide series. Very pleasing to finally have them. -DZ
I always look forward to the next videos, and love your take on how to approach something when multiple sources explain something in the universe differently.
11:40 i think , could be wrong, that the data storage in star wars is holographic, like in star trek. so essentially what i think would be happening is the comms thingo takes like a picture of the blood and sends that, and if you just looked at it on the other side it would be too blurry on a microscopic level to see the molecules or w/e and the mesowhatever scope is a special device for using their holographic technologies to obtain a clear sample image of the microscopic structures. just head cannon of course. edit: when i say took a picture and stuff i mean like 'scanned' like it's all in the data realm, just it's an optical technology so it's kinda like a picture, so like the 'clear' data is reconstructed in a way from the 'blurry' data the comm is capable of capturing with it's like small simple holographic laser reader type of thing.
It's not only that after a while, Mandalorian Iron won't withstand a light saber, It's that Exar Kuns Lightsaber is stronger and hotter than every other Lightsaber
Would it pass through other lightsabers with enough force? If so that'd possibly mean lightsabers could be tuned to a certain frequency at where some are better at cutting and others are better at deflecting other sabers, thus making it impractical to tune it to anything other than deflection, and thus making a "stronger blade" scary and unpredictable.. while also unreliable... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 I'm sure this isn't how they work but I'd like it if it was so 😆
That's interesting, the Essential Guide (to Weapons&Tech) describes his sabre as having blade intensity settings. But it only tells us the opposite: Exar's sabre can be dialled down to a quarterstaff, a shaft of light with no cutting potential. The other end of the spectrum, max intensity, is described as "like any other lightsabre". -DZ
@@thebreadcircus while its an old game, I agree its one not worth spoiling. Especially if they end up going through with a remaster Great point and I edited the comment out of respect to the folks who haven't played Kotor yet.
I love the content, but sometimes you got me reeling when you go on a train of thought for 20 minutes 😂 oh cool, the origin of the Jedi, sith, hyperspace war! What we’re we originally talking about again? Oh yeah, why Jedi are on courscant!
The secret society Holo-X have managed to infiltrate a Star Wars video with Sakamata Chloe posing as a generic anime girl in an MV? Impressive. Most impressive. Nobody suspects the orca.
While I don't always agree with your preference for the expanded universe (which in the end is just a preference thing), this channel is one of the best Star Wars content channels out there. Any chance we get some more West End RPG content? Even though I now main GURPS and find it a better fit (for most everything really), I still had great memories with the ol' D6 system and it could use some love.

too bad it's as broken as the copyright "system"...
Normally my comments are nitpicking about a niche part of the lore, but "that's a poor midichlorian count for a glass of water" had me in stitches 😂
Early dark side users were known to rip fat skids with their welded diff AU Millenium Falcons which angered peaceful republic citizens
