Somehow, they ended up on the bottom deck, trying to escape them. The teenagers ran off with the couple's bags. The teenager's have since been arrested.
What I really admire about this scene is that Alex is still young and still has time to grow as a person. His character also makes it interesting as it adds to the idea of peer pressure at his age and trying to be cool without realizing his actions. It doesn't seem like a random occurrence but something that adds to his character.

@@life4fireforever273 the thing is, rapists dont get the consequences of the rules either. and we are talking about the "traditional" definition of rape, like a guy who abducts someone in the middle of the night and rapes them -marital rape for example is just considered the partners duty most of the time-. for instance, there was a case in my country where a 18yo girl was raped in a party by 5 guys who (if im not wrong) had all antecedents (and they took a video of it). a terrifying amount of people justifyed it because "she had kissed one of the guys before" or "she was acting like she wanted it" or even because "she wasnt traumatized enough", as they paid a private detective to follow her and she still went to parties. you know what the sentence was at first? sexual abuse. because the judge saw the video and said it was not that bad. it wasnt until 4 years later (in which the guys were free btw) that they were sentenced to 9-15 years. for traumatizing a girl. 5 on 1. in my opinion, that is a shitty sentence, but do you have any idea of how many girls dont even get justice? there are judges who take a miniskirt or a thong as consent. because rape is the only crime where "she was doing whatever and i couldnt resist" is taken as an atenuant instead of as a confession tldr: dont pretend like it is not a systemic problem just because its easier for you to accept the status quo rather than questioning whats wrong in our education that makes grown men think they are entitled to women's bodies

Life 4 Fire Forever you don’t understand the point. Rapists and sexual assault is not always men violently attack women or spiking there drinks. It’s about men not understanding no. Not understanding what constant is. Setting actual laws that make lines less blurry. Actually prosecuting and punishing men that rape. That way if morality isn’t enough to turn some one away from rape at least fear of punishment helps. Also the language we currently have around rape. It puts the blame on the victim not the rapists. Now to be clear I do think it’s also important to teach people how to protect themselves. Because teaching consent isn’t enough.
Life 4 Fire Forever So you’re saying that not a single woman in the world can fight back? Why should woman have to be so worried and go through all these precautions?
I honestly think this episode (outside) should be shown to every teen in this country. It's so eye opening and masterfully written. It really helped me understand the other perspective and what Elena says ('rape prevention classes shouldn't have signs saying women shouldn't dress provocatively bit signs saying boys shouldn't rape!') may be the most truthful and most important thing to learn about this topic. Views shouldn't matter when deciding whether to renew this show - episodes like these aimed at educating the country and it's impact should. This show, more than any other not only deserves, but NEEDS a season 4!!! #renewODAAT

"t signs saying boys shouldn't rape" - or you know that people should not rape since guys get raped too....but with guys it is shown as comedy with all the "prison rape" jokes
I gotta agree a bit. I personally don’t think it’s funny at all but there are some people who actually do. Also, I agree with you on the aspect that people just shouldn’t rape. No matter what gender you are, sexuality you are, race you are, everyone can rape and they shouldn’t do it. I believe it should be enforced more in schools, maybe even starting in the 5th grade because it’s honestly ridiculous now. I’ve seen guys at my school being sexually harassed by girls and they play it off to not look weak in front of their friends. No one should have to go through that. I’ve seen girls at my school being groped by guys and looking very uncomfortable but too scared to speak up or say anything while with his friends. No means no. You should never touch someone without their permission. It’s disrespectful and wrong. These “prison rape” jokes truly gotta stop. It’s just that now in this century, for some idiotic reason, if you complain about someone “making a joke about rape” you’re seen as a snowflake, or an offended feminazi, or something stupid like that. It’s a messed up thing to do yet people still make jokes about it and it’s not funny in my opinion.
@ no one is saying guys don’t get raped. We need to address it for both yes, but way more women get raped than men and I’m not saying that to diminish it because I completely agree it should be addressed but there’s a problem when people like you always say “but what about men” when a woman is trying to talk about her experiences
@@mariafausti3128 There's difference between acknowledging a women's experience and to blatantly say that "Men don't rape" as if it is just men being rapist. There's difference in focusing to defend women and blame men. Know the difference. Women can rape and traumatise women too albeit it might not be as much but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
"Don't lock your doors, people just shouldn't be thieves" "Don't look both ways before crossing the street drivers just shouldn't hit people" "Don't learn self-defense people just shouldn't attack you" "Don't ignore Nigerian Prince scams people just shouldn't con others" I used to believe in that mentality too I thought because it was a new idea it was good but something felt wrong, then my friend (who was raped herself) points out all you're doing is demonizing men by insinuating they're rapists from birth and ones who are rapists simply won't care.
If women always blamed themselves and men never took responsibility. Men wouldn't be identified as perpetrators and women wouldn't be identified as victims . And how about teaching boys not. Deal or bother themselves women in the first place.
02:18 Love the idea that Alex immediately apologized, and didn't wait for Penelope to apologize on his behalf. This is the most amazing show I've seen ever. Glad it was picked up by Pop TV. Norman Lear is a legend.
Consent is key, no matter the gender you are. If you're a man, get consent. If you're a woman, get consent. If you're Nonbinary, get consent. If you identify as other genders, get consent. And believe the victims/survivors, no matter the gender, until it rightfully proven as false. These things happen to people, no matter the gender. Also, don't bring "men do it more" or the other BS into this because all cases are important, no matter who did what. This is what true Gender Equality is.

Rapists don't care about consent the problem isn't they don't know that it's that they don't care. I'm a first degree black belt and I feel safer knowing self defense than just expecting people to not attack me
1. WOmen can be rapists too 2. That's implying men who are rapists simply don't know what they're doing is wrong not that they don't care or think they can get away with it.
Season 3 was actually friggin amazing. They tackled with so many serious and controversial topics but didn't make fun of it but still were able to lighten the mood at times. I think seeing Schneider deal with his alcoholism was heartbreaking but they did it so well. ❤
I just found this show and am so in love with the whole cast and the writing. They do not shy away from difficult topics but handle them intelligently. I am so disappointed that one whole season is missing from Netflix.
Penelope is a perfect representation of a typical mother. When Elena came out, she wasnt unaccepting. She was dealing with something she didnt expect because she grew up during a time when it wasnt normal for someone to come out as gay and everyone was okay with it. In this situation, she was born in a time where now she feels that the consent standard is somehow a womans fault by dressing provocatively or she may even believe women are too hard on men. I still like Penelope afterwards because she shows that she is still willing to listen to her children before and after reasoning. I dont blame my mom for not supporting me as a bisexual transgender man because she is right. It was different back then. Her parents raised her making her believe that being lgbt was wrong and she grew up not supporting the lgbt community. She supports me no matter what and I realized in the show that my mom and I have a relationship that is so identical to Penelope and Elenas and its amazing that this show has amazing representation. Its also cool to see that even though they are a cuban family, they can relate to people who are different races.
She full of Collage 🐂💩 men face 60 longer prison sentences for same men at worse. Lett harrassment go . And. How she dressed when was that ever an actually legal defense even when how women dressed was more regulated a rapist would get his 🐴ss kicked by other men the Put in jail . . And ever heard spontaneous arousal syndrome . It's a condition that affects women. . they an uncontrollable need for 😘 and those sane feminist who say men's are men's and against having sympathy girls like Elena all of a sudden have sympathy for women with rare condition of how men normally are . Oh and did you know alchole actually. Lowers male😘 drive while making women more grabby. And if women always blamed themselves and guys never take responsibility how come men identified the perpetrators and Women the victims . Have you though maybe the reason the manophere 😡 women because they realized every thing taught to 😡 about men themselves eachother was actually more in women often the very women. Who tell them those things .
i love this show but my family hates it cause they say its full of feminist and because of it im becoming one. idc if im becoming a feminist. if becoming a feminist end sexist people and standing up for womens right than i guess i am one. i stand with elena on this. idc if my parents hate me for it.
That isn't being feminist, that's common sense. If your parents think that's feminist, then they really need to get to this century. Not trying to be mean or anything, but your parents need to learn that this kind of stuff isn't feminist, it's common sense that people need to remember. I'm sorry if it sounds mean, but that's the truth. And this show covers a lot of those basics, which is good because people need to start remembering basic common sense.
There's nothing wrong with being a feminist. That only means that you care about your own rights. Women need to be feminist, otherwise they won't be able to accomplish anything.
If women always blame yourself a and men always take responsibility . Why are men identified the perpetrators and you women as the victims. Look the censorship . If you really were so oppressed you would so widely mainstream able to talk about how your oppressed ..did you pacifically protest the red pill documentary out threatens while claiming it's your voices silenced . And yes it was you Don't give me that all women 💩 if a man is traumatized by a women. Me talliy abused . By his mother manipulated teachers activist. Who tides him out or falsly accused out revenge .isn't it you're responsibility as a woman .
this scene never fails to make me cry. from the moms face while elena was telling her story to alex immediately changing his standpoint once he learned his sister was harassed to the grandma saying “i don’t want you to bloody your beautiful hands. i will do it”
So Elena. Jumps her mom for sympathizing with his problem and looking a solution. But not her grand mother flat out encouraging it . . And how about guys don't obsess or both to much at all . And if women always blamed themselves and never took responsibility women would be seen perpetrators and men as victims . And lastly i keep thinking of them as a gu couples themselve thinking being encouraging . Women make stories to yourselves it happen me when was watching video on a train about proof of heaven and the phone in her general direction and she even went through my private pictures. To make sure i wasn't pictures of her in a pubic space with her in general direction of the phone
Everything sucks should keep going for another episode I really like the fact that there are young teens in the show n play very independent rolls n go through teen struggles
The curios thing with this episode, is when I was watching this episode my sister call me to tell, she was in the mall and a man start call her sexist thing and follow her. I told her to ask for help to a police in the mall. This episode was powerful, I'm glad they make this topic.

I felt an incredible connection to this show despite coming from an Arabic background. The topics tackled are so delicate, profound and relevant like mental health, financial hardships, protective parents, complex relationships, sexual identities, the absurdities of the modern world and many more themes. I would love for this show to be back and continue. It deserves to have a legacy.
This show makes me cry, laugh, jump or even went crazy but the most beautiful thing is how as a viewer you can connect with the Characters. So many in Penelope and Elena is part of my life. I am an opely gay woman starting her tweenty's in few weeks and experent how people make fun about my being a lesbian or how people act like my anxiety was overreacting and act like i been a failure. I was walking to store with brother and some girls walking behind us said look at their booties. So I experiences exact same thing. Abd speaking get incels losers . So why should have any sympathy for women
It was this scene that got me interested on the show, I saw it on twitter and I thought it was awesome. I have loved every second of it and I think it was a HUGE mistake to cancel this.
It made me so happy to see this scene ive been in a similar situation before and i know many other girls whove also been in a similar situation it happens way too often and isnt talked about nearly enough im glad that theres a show like this educating people and bringing awareness to this issue
Idc about Ur feelings that's not even remotely what she was talking about. Making a blanket statement doesn't mean every guy is a creep, it's just a blanket statement to mean the guys who are. Saying well not all people are like that is unnecessary to say if you are secure in the fact that you are not like that. (I'm not saying you are or aren't, I'm just giving you something to think about because statements like that detract the conversation away from an important issue to discuss something that is obvious).
All genders should watch this. Any gender can suffer offer scenerios such as this. Just because some guys are nasty and cruel doesn't mean "guys should watch this and think about it".
It’s such a shame how we live in a world where some people are afraid to express themselves or go out in public as they are without getting harassed by creeps and weirdos
To anyone that doesn't think this is an actual scenario the situation Elena and Syd went through actually happened to two women on a train and they were beat by a bunch of immature boys because they wouldn't kiss for them don't ignore this conversation if you are a parent have it with your children
Este programa pasa desapercibido en la gente y no se dan cuenta de la joya que se pierden. Las historias que relatan en cada episodio con una mezcla de gran humor no es nada fácil realizar. Sin duda este programa es de lo mejor actualmente.
I actually cried on this scene because I'm a bisexual girl and I have a girlfriend but most of my family is homophobic so they don't know about her.❤❤❤
I have just watched a couple of episodes here and there but I get this feeling already that this is a great great show, and it covers a lot of important topics. I am excited to whole it as soon as my exams end!!
something I always loved about this show is watching other characters faces when something dramatic or big happens. Their reactions feel so real and I'm still pissed the show got canceled
This is one of the things i hate about modern society and i say this as a straight guy, if a woman is attacked/raped by a guy the questions/statements about it are always "what was she wearing? Had she been drinking etc." When in reality the questions that should be asked are "what gives a guy ANY right to harm a woman? She is never asking for it" etc.
If women always blamed themselfs and men never take responsibility women wouldn't be identified as victims and men should not be identified as perpetraters . S9 projection in real life it's who blame our selfs and who can't be blamed for any thing . It's like her why 80% suicides are men she's responsible for visual anti ☠️ and Caroline Brainy was a just like her

His character also makes it interesting as it adds to the idea of peer pressure at his age and trying to be cool without realizing his actions. It doesn't seem like a random occurrence but something that adds to his character.

@@life4fireforever273 ? I don't understand
5 on 1. in my opinion, that is a shitty sentence, but do you have any idea of how many girls dont even get justice? there are judges who take a miniskirt or a thong as consent. because rape is the only crime where "she was doing whatever and i couldnt resist" is taken as an atenuant instead of as a confession
tldr: dont pretend like it is not a systemic problem just because its easier for you to accept the status quo rather than questioning whats wrong in our education that makes grown men think they are entitled to women's bodies
never ever end this show please

This didn’t age well

No matter what gender you are, sexuality you are, race you are, everyone can rape and they shouldn’t
do it.
"Don't lock your doors, people just shouldn't be thieves"
"Don't look both ways before crossing the street drivers just shouldn't hit people"
"Don't learn self-defense people just shouldn't attack you"
"Don't ignore Nigerian Prince scams people just shouldn't con others"
I used to believe in that mentality too I thought because it was a new idea it was good but something felt wrong, then my friend (who was raped herself) points out all you're doing is demonizing men by insinuating they're rapists from birth and ones who are rapists simply won't care.

Consent is key, no matter the gender you are.
If you're a man, get consent.

If you're Nonbinary, get consent.
If you identify as other genders, get consent.

Guys should watch this and think about it!
Not all guys r like that
Idc about Ur feelings that's not even remotely what she was talking about.
