I have been struggling with this for days, and He definitely answered my prayers. (I'll tell you what He said in a minute.) I was triggered by Budde's words. Why? Because I was a joyous Episcopalian for 42 years until I was driven from my church by exactly this type of sermon. My priest, whom I loved, began to flog her congregation exactly like Budde. Those who find no fault in Buddy's sermon miss what she is actually saying: "Trump, you are not creating unity. You are not merciful." This is not the way to connect with anyone's heart. Instead, it reveals that she thinks she already KNOWS his heart. Only God knows this. So what is God telling me again today? "Abby, I know your heart. This is not for you to worry about, like a dog with a bone. Leave this to me. Now. Let's talk about something else, shall we?" How I love Him! What do I care what the world thinks? I know my Lord and Saviour. And He knows me.
I feel more like I am born again and again, every day. Even when I thought I was born again, I didn't understand having an actual relationship with God through Jesus Christ. How about: was there a specific time when I accepted Christ and was saved? I suppose so, but rather like baptism, I didn't understand what it meant. I had parents who were raised in the church. That is probably the most important part of my faith journey; I was set on the path from the time I was born. All the rest fell into place without drama. I will say that I do consider some of the miracles in my life dramatic. But then my like is chock full of God & His miracles, big & small.

We are not to worry as Jesus said. I am Catholic, and try to focus on the fact, that He is in charge of everything. Judging each other is wrong, but we have a responsibility to discern the actions of others, and if they follow the will of God. The woman in question, as all of us, will stand before Our Lord in judgment. God's judgment is real, and perfect, tempered by His mercy. But He will not be mocked. May God have mercy on all of us. "Forgive us our sins, as we forgive each other."

Even King David, a man after God's own heart, was rebuked when he sinned, by the prophet Nathan no less. I was watching this service. Once Budde started speaking, I turned it off. The Spirit in me said the Spirit wasn’t in her. I knew nothing about her at the time. I only knew I did not feel God was present. It was dry & more like lecturing. It was hours later when I learned I was listening to the start of a personal, but oh so “pious” attack.

First of all, Trump has literally said, he has NEVER asked God for forgiveness. Secondly, if Pres Trump has asked for forgiveness for past transgression/sins, his dictates, statements and actions since coming into office clearly shows that he has simply replaced them with new ones. He cares very little for the 'sanctity of life' and for the literal health and sustainability of the world our God created. Trump lacks mercy, a sense of justice and common kindness. The Bishop, as a spokesperson for God, had every right to appeal to that ember of good that may still be smouldering somewhere in his heart.

I have been struggling with this for days, and He definitely answered my prayers. (I'll tell you what He said in a minute.) I was triggered by Budde's words. Why? Because I was a joyous Episcopalian for 42 years until I was driven from my church by exactly this type of sermon. My priest, whom I loved, began to flog her congregation exactly like Budde. Those who find no fault in Buddy's sermon miss what she is actually saying: "Trump, you are not creating unity. You are not merciful."
This is not the way to connect with anyone's heart. Instead, it reveals that she thinks she already KNOWS his heart. Only God knows this.
So what is God telling me again today? "Abby, I know your heart. This is not for you to worry about, like a dog with a bone. Leave this to me.
Now. Let's talk about something else, shall we?"

I feel more like I am born again and again, every day. Even when I thought I was born again, I didn't understand having an actual relationship with God through Jesus Christ. How about: was there a specific time when I accepted Christ and was saved? I suppose so, but rather like baptism, I didn't understand what it meant. I had parents who were raised in the church. That is probably the most important part of my faith journey; I was set on the path from the time I was born. All the rest fell into place without drama. I will say that I do consider some of the miracles in my life dramatic. But then my like is chock full of God & His miracles, big & small.

We are not to worry as Jesus said. I am Catholic, and try to focus on the fact, that He is in charge of everything. Judging each other is wrong, but we have a responsibility to discern the actions of others, and if they follow the will of God. The woman in question, as all of us, will stand before Our Lord in judgment. God's judgment is real, and perfect, tempered by His mercy. But He will not be mocked. May God have mercy on all of us. "Forgive us our sins, as we forgive each other."

Even King David, a man after God's own heart, was rebuked when he sinned, by the prophet Nathan no less. I listened to the Bishop's words, and they seem to be aligned with Jesus' teachings and how he acted towards sinners. As a Christian, this video made me sick to my stomach.

Obviously Trump didn't do anything approaching David's level of sin, but the Bishop also didn't say anything nearly as harsh as what Nathan said to David. This Episcopal Bishop speaks of "Our God", but her God is not my God, for my God's doctrine about homosexuals, labels them as an "ABOMINATION", in the Bible's "The Book of Leviticus", Ch. 18, Vs. 22, and calls for their demise in Ch. 20, Vs. 13, yet the "EPISCOPAL CHURCH" makes what God labels as an abomination, a Bishop in their Church, which means that church does not proscribe to God's doctrines, but their own doctrines of man, that the Bible's "The Book of Isaiah" warns us against in Ch. 29, Vs. 13, as Isaiah told God's people while in Assyrian bondage, that God said, "You people give me lip service and worship Me with rote, while obeying the doctrines of man, and ignoring My precepts and commands." This sounds just like this Episcopal Church and this their Bishop, which God they worship and obey, is not the same God as I worship and obey, as is proven by the Bible, where the doctrines of God are.
I think unity is different from peace with our neighbor.

Just as you've pointed out scripture to support your argument, I think about scripture on what Jesus said and did, especially regarding his interactions with adulterous women, tax collectors, etc. I am actually against much of the 'woke' ideology, including their stances on immigration and LGBTQ rights in general, yet I have trouble understanding how compassion towards illegal immigrants and LGBTQ people is worthy of condemnation. I was watching this service. Once Budde started speaking, I turned it off. The Spirit in me said the Spirit wasn’t in her. I knew nothing about her at the time. I only knew I did not feel God was present. It was dry & more like lecturing. It was hours later when I learned I was listening to the start of a personal, but oh so “pious” attack.

First of all, Trump has literally said, he has NEVER asked God for forgiveness. Secondly, if Pres Trump has asked for forgiveness for past transgression/sins, his dictates, statements and actions since coming into office clearly shows that he has simply replaced them with new ones. He cares very little for the 'sanctity of life' and for the literal health and sustainability of the world our God created. Trump lacks mercy, a sense of justice and common kindness.
The Bishop, as a spokesperson for God, had every right to appeal to that ember of good that may still be smouldering somewhere in his heart.

The Bishop has to remember she is inside the House of God. In the Episcopal Church, a bishop represents Christ and the church. And Christ didn’t teach anyone to humiliate and shows disrespect t anyone inside his house. All she has to do is ask for an audience with the President and state her cause. That's an interesting take. I think a private conversation to air her grievances would have been more appropriate than how she handled it.
Elijah, Elisha, Jeremiah, John the Baptiser, many more and.... JESUS, all made public statements, pointing out the social, political and spiritual wrongs of the leaders of their day. Their public audience were edified through it also. There's nothing new here. Bishop Budde was both gracious and quietly challenging. She did the work of her Father. It's sad so many Christians can't see this basic truth.
