This is a VERY detailed and informative review, and must say dat this PhoneArena review is the best I've seen so far, and lead me to subscribing. I've watched a few reviews on da HTC Desire Z, and no1 has mentioned da cable revealed by the "Z-Hinge". Thanks
Are there any good games for it? Does it have multi touch? Is it's screen glass? Does the keyboard break easily? Can you wide screen text without the key board? These ate my questions.
I dont know whether to go for this or the motorola milestone 2 when it comes out :s or should i scrap the physical keyboard alltogether and get a purely touch phone?
I am thinking of buying this but cannot decide if I should go WP7 or Android... I really need a keyboard though and unfortunately there is no WP7 handset with a good keyboard now :(.
I know people complain that you hit your thumbs against the top row of this keyboard, but I have this phone and I've never had a problem with that... Could that maybe just be because I happen to have small hands/fingers?
I had a go at using this today, its a very nice phone, but its the hinge design I'm worried about, will it last in the long run, I mean if u get the phone for 18months, I'm just worried that the hinge is gonna break, and is the hinge metal or plastic. The only way I would get this phone, would be to insure it.
@RiMZ411 The US version is the Tmobile g2. The Canadian Version is a Desire Z. There is no difference in the Desire Z in Canada and Europe. All specs are the same except for 3g banding
HTC desire z, SE Xperia pro or Nokia E7 ??? answer me anyone,please... and i have one question, can these phones use QWERTY keytouch on the screen (even in the normal stand or landscape mode) ??? please answer it if u know, so me and other people who are confusing of these three phones will get help...thank you so much....
@AMDAthlon3GHz hi there I'm thinking about getting this phone but i would like to know how is the battery life? how long does it usually lasts you? :) thanks in advance
can someone please recommend what phone service to go with in the UK? ill be heading there very soon on military orders and i have no idea what to get. im with Tmobile right now and they suck so i dont want to make the mistake of getting a shitty phone service again.
first of all, I really in love with the motorola,but now change my mind since some of motorolas function not working well in Denmark. So,,looking forward to HTC Desire Z.
@asuperpower i would go for the desire z bease it does has a lesser processer but its a better handset and it lookes better and the facebook button on the salsa is just a gimmic but the specs are about the same but when i saw them both in the flesh i much preferd the desire z hope it helps
got this phone last friday, loove it...still learning where everything is and what not...buut....Does anyone eles's battery only last one fucking day??....battery is gaarbage...is there a reason why mine would be doin this?? If anyone could help me out that would be greatly preciated.....
@itsme649 the htc desire z has a larger screen than the iphone 4. but the iphone 4 has higher pixel density the pixel density's are practically the same and would be unnoticeable
I do not know, why everyone says that sense is smooth as vanilla... I use gingerbread on my desire z (CM7), the smoothness of it, sense does not even come close to it. It lags straight from the applications drawer. The lag as u skip till bottom. Moreover responses in opening apps take much more time on sense. people app is smooth, but there are lags in the messaging app, scroll from down to up and tremendous lag... I dont know, but it find sense much slower than pure android..
I am looking for a phone for my son for the school season. I was pointed to this phone in the shop where I recently got my Bold 9900. My son would like a BB but I would only buy the Torch 1 but I would prefer to avoid the 3 yr agreement to get the phone for zero. The Desire Z is offered for 1 w a 1 yr agreement and also a 75 store credit so it is more enticing. W Gingerbread now available is this phone a good choice as I explained it is alot better for web access tha the Torch 1 he also likes
@patricia1591 yes it is a smart phone, battery life is around one day or one day a half maybe, but nearly all smart phones has a battery life around one day but not x10, x8 regards
i appreciate the effort he puts in and try to make the review.. but the other guy with a slight english accent is way better, the guy who reviewed the desire hd but anyways, great review
@soundwave070 I agree, the key space seems ok to me, more than most of other devices i've seen. If you try to put more space than that you will have a 20cm large phone lol
lol funny how everyone was so amazed when N97 came up with a similar sliding mechanism, called it unique & stylish...& now when HTC does a much neater job, they call it "fragile"...
and people who will now complain of the symbian os let me assure you that the whole UI of the E7 will be refreshed accordin to nokia..great news which makes e7 best buy for money..cheeeers
he kept talking about how the keyboard isn't so spaced and good... Uhhh, the keyboard is the best and easiest one I've used out of all the Android phones.

if you want to download..do you have to pay for something? like the translator, do you have to pay for it?
I got this phone a couple of months back and it turned out waaaaaay more awesome than i expected.
I know people complain that you hit your thumbs against the top row of this keyboard, but I have this phone and I've never had a problem with that... Could that maybe just be because I happen to have small hands/fingers?

HTC desire z, SE Xperia pro or Nokia E7 ???

i have this phone and its kinda laggy and tips or help
@SpideRx21O it's the GSM version of the phone, not a rip off.

@HSVneel England but I've been to Mauritius 4 times! where are you from? :)
first of all, I really in love with the motorola,but now change my mind since some of motorolas function not working well in Denmark. So,,looking forward to HTC Desire Z.
This was my first phone, and it was my childhood !
I had the g2 and it came without sense?
im using it now and im so glad i bought this instead of iphone..the psysical keyboard just blows my mind
@Pretoriance yes it is because of the parts uesd to make it
I have the G2 and I'm running a desire Z rom.
@asuperpower i would go for the desire z bease it does has a lesser processer but its a better handset and it lookes better and the facebook button on the salsa is just a gimmic but the specs are about the same but when i saw them both in the flesh i much preferd the desire z hope it helps

@itsme649
the htc desire z has a larger screen than the iphone 4. but the iphone 4 has higher pixel density the pixel density's are practically the same and would be unnoticeable

if i can fast type on my htc desires touch screen then it should and is easier on this phones physical keyboard
Your hands are huge.
I'm one of the people that needs a physical keyboard. Like this phone !
The Desire Z does have HSPA+
you say that HTC probably tested the phone etc, but dont you think Apple did that with the iPhone?
I am looking for a phone for my son for the school season. I was pointed to this phone in the shop where I recently got my Bold 9900. @RevaqOfTheLight The speaker is definitely not from Finland, as a finnish person I can tell from his accent.
Best phone I ever owned. Really miss qwerty... Shame it got old and slow :(
I have this phone and it is without doubt a technical tour de force. Basically a mini computer, get one!
@MrCareLeS
Personal experience, most people said that is was faster.
dose this phone have spell check
@icekat83 Yea it's the comma and the ;
Don't know what that thing is called in english
I want the new version of sense on my htc legend.

i appreciate the effort he puts in and try to make the review.. but the other guy with a slight english accent is way better, the guy who reviewed the desire hd

@soundwave070 I agree, the key space seems ok to me, more than most of other devices i've seen. If you try to put more space than that you will have a 20cm large phone lol
@emanko111
Yes but you have the trackpad!

Saw this phone in carphone warehouse today, once you hold it you know u wanna get it.
lol funny how everyone was so amazed when N97 came up with a similar sliding mechanism, called it unique & stylish...& now when HTC does a much neater job, they call it "fragile"...

@iye0 you are right !!! i think the keyboard is just great !!!
just his thumbs are too thick for it :D
@maccactm this duh...... it has froyo and sense, legend is on eclair and its quite laggy already, but it may get froyo. plus this has hardware qwerty
I don't understand how he thinks this keyboard is crappy...really?
I think its one of the best keyboards out on the market!
is he from russia? or germany?
The Z hinge is cool. Seriously.
@scraplife the only moment which is brainfree at the iphone is the moment you decide to buy it..
he kept talking about how the keyboard isn't so spaced and good... Uhhh, the keyboard is the best and easiest one I've used out of all the Android phones.
