Only after seeing this video presentation, I came to know that prem nath had married a famous actress Beena Roy. And acting skill wise Beena Roy was far more talented and versatile than prem nath. Film abhiman was based on true life story of premnath and beena Roy's married life directed by hrishikesh Mukherjee. The bottom line is when Beena Roy got more filmy offers as she was more talented than premnath, who also used to be a very versatile actor, it's common that premnath was depressed as he was less credited than his actor wife Beena Roy and premnath did the right thing by settlings in Himalayas for 14 long years. But on the part of Beena Roy, she was getting more film offers to act as heroin and she was absolutely right in grabbing the opportunity to act in more evergreen films such as tajmahal,, anarchalli etc. to name a few.

Only after seeing this video presentation, I came to know that prem nath had married a famous actress Beena Roy. And acting skill wise Beena Roy was far more talented and versatile than prem nath. Film abhiman was based on true life story of premnath and beena Roy's married life directed by hrishikesh Mukherjee.
The bottom line is when Beena Roy got more filmy offers as she was more talented than premnath, who also used to be a very versatile actor, it's common that premnath was depressed as he was less credited than his actor wife Beena Roy and premnath did the right thing by settlings in Himalayas for 14 long years. But on the part of Beena Roy, she was getting more film offers to act as heroin and she was absolutely right in grabbing the opportunity to act in more evergreen films such as tajmahal,, anarchalli etc. to name a few.

Sir, you have forgotten film 'Insaniat' (1955) where Bina Rai acted with Dev Anand and Dilip Kumar. Bina Rai's performance was superb. All the three acted superbly. She was both excellent actress and wife. Please add this fact.

What luck Premnath had to get married to her is totally amazing to understand. As they were not compatible couples that is the reason Premnath had to go to the Himalaya to find some miracles. प्रेमनाथ हमारे जबलपुर से थे और वह वर्ष में एक दो बार जबलपुर आते रहते थे और यहां जबलपुर में उनकी एम्पायर नाम की एक टॉकीज थी जिसमें अधिकांशतः अंग्रेजी फिल्में ही रिलीज होती थीं एक बार जब वह जबलपुर आए तब हम अपने कालेज के मित्रों के समूह साथ उनसे एम्पायर टॉकीज में मिले भी थे और प्रेमनाथ जी ने हमें चाय पिलाई और उन्होंने टॉकीज के मैनेजर से हम सभी को बॉलकनी में बैठाकर मुफ्त फिल्म दिखाने को कहा था।

When Madhubala in Mugleazam was to be adjudged best heroin but on the other hand it went to Beena Roy for Ghunghat. Salute to such a beautiful great actress.

Baarat bairang wapis laut gayi. That was Bina Rai. Incidentally the actor was from a Muslim community. Bina had refused to act with Muslim actors.
