Rak can tours is kind of how you pronounce it. Raconteur means storyteller. I've been enjoying your song choices and reactions...love this song. Jack White is a genius, so unique.
I haven't seen this live performance before. WTF? Brilliant. How many times do you have to hear this before you realize there is no chorus? I think it was like, 5 times in, it slowly dawned. I hope you shared this with your wife, if she likes the White Stripes, she'll love Raconteurs. Try Steady as She Goes. It's impossible to sit still. These guys are easily one of the all time greatest rock bands, and Jack White has a hand in everything. He helped produce, or produced Lemonade with Beyonce, He did the some for Loretta Lynn, who's gotta be about 80 bye now, and that was a huge success. He's got a press at his Studio, Third Man records, where they are making VINYL records right there. You can go in, record and get a record pressed, label design, album cover, the whole thing. He's from Detroit, I'm sure I read he lived in Nashville at some point, anyway he's gotten over 30 Grammy nominations, and 12 wins as The White Stripes, The Dead Weather, The Raconteurs, a solo artist and producer. (I'm kind of a fan) And he's even better live, which is how I like my music. Loved your authentic reaction, and your good vibes. Broken Boy Soldier is another great song, but check out Steady as She Goes - your wife ought to love that one.
I can't tell you how amazing it feels to see and hear this song get so much appreciation. I always have to introduce people to it, because so few people have heard it! Glad you did this video guy :)
Go watch the live versions of The Raconteurs - Blue Veins. Either the Norway one or the one from Montreux. They are some of the best, most transcendent performances ever
Got-Dam is right. I think Blue Veins is the only Rac song I love more than this one but honestly, I just super love the whole band and all of their songs. Carolina Drama should be a movie.
You HAVE to go with your wife to see Jack perform this song live (he does it when touring solo as well as with The Racs). The best way I can describe it is like going to church. Chills every time. Jack live is something you have to see at least once in your life.
I believe you. Having seen him live but not this song and from the first time I saw/heard this song on RUclips, it was definitely spiritual. I knew life would never be the same. It has not and in the most beautiful of ways. I found Jack in 2020. Lifer now.
I see alot of people and they are scared and I dont know what to tell them anymore...the want answers but tell them not to fear kind of of goes out tha window...theres RUclips and there is real life and what are you to say to someone who's lost everything.I love what you guys do and I have given you crap on alot of things but my heart is broken and I dont know how to help people anymore man......what you do here I applaud at least you probably can help
Hey man, great reaction! Have you ever listened to Hurricane by Bob Dylan? It’s the true story of Rubin Carter, a boxer sent down for a murder he didn’t commit…absolutely amazing song would love to hear your reaction to it!
Jack White has conversations within songs reminiscent of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash...you just know he has huge back stories in his head for each character
So there's a companion song called "Go Ask the Milkman" by the Pickens County Bandits that explains a lot more of the story hence the final line of the song. Go Ask the Milkman is told from the point of view of billy's little brother. It's revealed that the mother had an affair with the milkman and the father left. Later on the mother ends up with an abusive boyfriend and begins seeing the milkman again. It's implied the boyfriend sort of finds out but blames the father who is now a preacher. During the altercation in Carolina Drama, which is sort of left to the imagination in Ask the Milkman, the milkman shows up for his rendezvous but finds the door locked and runs away presumably leaving his hat and a bottle of gin. There's a couple inconsistencies but it's a really cool concept.
I'm with the others who say, FINALLY someone reacted to this great song! One thing that must be known about this song is that Bob Dylan himself gave Jack White a little advice about the lyrics, to leave the listener wondering or keep it mysterious, something along those lines. This is the absolute best song on Consolers of the Lonely, which is saying something because the whole album is outstanding. But I definitely agree that listening to this is like a movie in your mind. I can see the house, the truck, Billy, the red-headed mother, the preacher, the "triple loser with some blue tattoos that were given to him when he was young", everything.
I'm not huge on this band, but I do like this song and a lot of what White has done with The Dead Weather, The White Stripes, and Loretta Lynn.... YES, Loretta Lynn. Check out the tune Portland Oregon with her and Jack White. Priceless!!! Peace!
I've been waiting for someone, anyone to react to this song. I get chills every time I hear the last verse.
Thanks, dude
Jack White has had so many amazing projects, the man has got 'it', such a wonderful groove.

Thanks for the help. And yea, they are a new favorite. I'll be digging more into their catalog

I'm an idiot. She still has not heard this band. I know she would love this. Thanks for reminding me.
It's one of my favorite songs!
You can try Blue veins/ The switch and the spur (Brendan Benson is a amazing singer)/ their version of Bang Bang. Greetings from Argentina! 🤘
Yes! Blue veins and broken boy soldier, along with this, are the most amazing songs :)
The horns in Switch and the Spur swirled around my head for days on end and I couldn’t even sleep.
I can't tell you how amazing it feels to see and hear this song get so much appreciation. I always have to introduce people to it, because so few people have heard it! Glad you did this video guy :)
A lot of us had that reaction! Subscribed
Great band, much better than White Stripes.
Almost forgot: Ween - Freedom of 76
YES WEEN FREEDOM OF 76..
This song still gives me chills. Every time.. epic
Huge White Stripes fan and Raconteurs are even better. Bunch of great tracks
Go watch the live versions of The Raconteurs - Blue Veins. Either the Norway one or the one from Montreux. They are some of the best, most transcendent performances ever
Truly awesome story telling and an amazing song

Jack White is a Boss.
I didn't see you did this! This is so exciting! I've never clicked on anything so fast.
this whole album is great actually!!

Nice....”maybe when you’re old enough “
Good to see you still going man!

Kind of makes my requests pointless
One of the best story-songs ever! Now do THE SMOKE OFF by Shel Silverstein.
Great choice! Saw them live last year in DC - such an incredible show!
Just found your channel and was probably one of the best reaction vids I’ve seen!
Hey man, great reaction! Have you ever listened to Hurricane by Bob Dylan? It’s the true story of Rubin Carter, a boxer sent down for a murder he didn’t commit…absolutely amazing song would love to hear your reaction to it!
The vibe is definitely like the Raconteurs, but ironically, the Raconteurs haven't written a lot of stories xD
Check out his other band The Dead Weather. Fantastic music in a completely different genre with Jack on drums.
Jack White has conversations within songs reminiscent of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash...you just know he has huge back stories in his head for each character
If you like songs that tell a story, definitely check out The Decemberists - Mariners Revenge song
You should check out Jack White’s duet with Loretta Lynn called Portland, Or.
Love the line ....The white milk dripped down with the blood
If you like good storytelling songs then listen to gordon lightfoot or the tragically hip 🇨🇦
Search “Go Ask The Milkman”
The word Raconteur literally means story teller!
Yeah bud. Yeah. Great song and story
Great reaction, new sub!
Billy is the milkman right
I loved your review. Cheers!
Jack white has confirmed that "the milk man" was billy who killed the boyfriend but never actually left the state
Love y'all's reactions

fail, 2 typos in the title.
thanks, I'll take care of it. I'm kinda rushing today.
@@TheAdventuresofTNT no worries, but now you have to react to EMPEROR The Loss and Curse of Reverence. \m/
