Badlands was horrific because of shit like Reno but I do think we shouldn’t be dismissive about how much strong bullshit was in TITANs as well. The titans themselves were way too strong compared to colossals and so many of the decks that spawned from it overstayed their welcome even when they weren’t the best things ever like plagues Death knight. Even both of their mini sets spawned nothing but pain in Yogg and deep miner Brann. And then there’s festival of legends just… there….

Druid: dragon Druid had to be constantly nerfed over multiple patches. Also had to nerf both of the miniset hybrid cards it shared with priest when priest wasn’t even able to use the cards as well as Druid could with Eonar and naga giant. Mage: overflow surger got a lot more toxic with each new elemental support, especially now with saarun who can give all the copies spell power or just enable easy cheap solar flare board clears. Paladin: showdown and prismatic beam combo was really stupid. Also Shroomsavate meant Paladin could give any charge minion (Leeroy) of theirs win fury after handbuffing to just instant kill from hand. Rogue: they over buffed Excavate/burgle rogue Warlock: they l had to emergency nerf the warlock Excavate payoff card: the azerite snake Warrior: Deep Miner Brann and Boomboss. Hunter, Priest and Shaman were the only classes whose cards weren’t doing anything super egrious but they did nerf Holidae and Thirsty drifter still so Hunter is the only winner for least toxic badlands set.
Gotta hope that with this patch new expansion decks will actually become competitive because the great dark beyond is a really nice and flavorful expansion that just doesnt get the spotlight it deserves because of the current power level that these meta decks possess
@TrixyTrixter i was thinking about 7 mana 5/5 but that I didn't know if that would be too weak. Obviously, it takes balancing. This is literally just my second thought. But it would be so much better. Because then the next turn, you could have a full board automatically

I think the more annoying thing about Reno completely countering the Starships is more on Blizzard deciding to release them while Reno is still in standard. This mechanic would be more playable in a 4-set rotation, when its hardest counter is gone.
Molten Magma didn’t “need a change”, simply because it’s a popular card, and one of the only decent Drink spells. If they change it to only dmg enemy minions, it REALLY needs to also cost 1 mana, imo. If Molten Magma only hits minions, (for 2), or has the same effect for 3 mana, it’ll be terrible.
I'd love to see Dirda turning into: Shuffle 8 cast when drawn Crew Meetings into your deck. Crew Meeting- add one of remaining crew members into your hand.
I told everyone that the expansion would be irrelevant bc the power level of the cards is too low compared the previous ones even with the preentive nerfs. At least I know that after the rotation Standard is going to be way better.
I always thought lamplighter should be deal one for each elemental you played last turn and cost 3. I think that would be far healthier while keeping some cool combo potential
they probably won't do that but i could see a change to reska's runes, in order to make her harder to slot in dk decks, but that seems like a very severe change

With the dimensional core, I think they should just make it a 1 mana 1/1 with divine shield, those are basic core set stats and it would help get starships going faster, but not too fast, since the divine shield still makes it kinda awkward to kill, specially if the opponent ignores it.

I feel like crewmates would have to summon a copy of the adjacent crewmates vs directly summon them to be any good. Summoning them all from hand makes any AOE clear hurt so much more because you empty a good chunk of your hand and then bam one spell leaves you with almost no resources. Like even if you summon 5 crewmates from one on turn 4. Any decent AOE clear leaves you with practically no cards in hand .
I think Reno nerfs is gonna be, remove everything that is not dormant, so it still poof locations and minions on board but keep the (especially the expansion spotlight) Starships. So it is like a glorified effects of both Black Hole and Twisting Nether and the 1 board slot turn after. So people can actually made a comeback with Starships (like Druid for example).

I do think the amount of combo decks that can reliably kill on turn 5 makes slower decks a lot less attractive, though. Even seedlock I find incredibly overrated when decks like inner fire are way way quicker. Seed's ability to beat ice blocks is the biggest upside to it, but a turn 7 holy wrath would lose out on both fronts.

All the starship pieces being good makes starships too good. The whole point of cards like dimensional core not being that good is to balance out the upside of the starship. Simply buffing all the pieces will swing it too far in the other direction
Now that i have slept on it, i don't think that giving scrounging shipwright a battlecry: discover is that great of an idea. Due to beeing bouncable, and the discover pool beeing very limited, rouge would get consistent access to the good hunter starship part and the bad deathknight starship part. Together with the unique double starship piece it is kind of a scary otk.
