- EDIT: I didn't expect this to blow up as much as it did 0_0 Thank you guys so much for all the likes and comments! I didn't plan on making a second part, but I'm thinking about it now. I guess I should start looking at some songs incase I decide to do a part 2!
EDIT 2: So I’m gonna make a part 2-
First animatic I've ever made (that I've finished...)! I don't really use RUclips all that much, so I don't know if I'll make another one anytime soon, but I still wanted to post this one!
There's no real story behind this, so make up whatever plot you want! Let me know if I need to tag any other warnings and I'll pin it as a comment since I'm not sure how many people read the description.

This is a vERY farfetched story, but here is one anyway lol.
Deceit wanted to be part of the group so badly, he manipulated the other sides into thinking anxiety was always a dark side (paranoia) and he only wanted to trick him, and deceit was trying to “help” them. Why would deceit choose Virgil? Revenge. Revenge for betraying him, leaving him, and making him into the *hated* snake he is.
(Timeskip)
This is a light side party, but anxiety didn’t know that. He eventually hid himself in the bathroom after being shouted at by Patton. Throughout the song he eventually starts to *become paranoia* , (why he cried and smashed the mirror). “All you know about me is my name” (about the betrayal, and how little they actually know about him being paranoia and anxiety.)

Here's what I think happened:
Following Virgil's big reveal at the end of Dealing With Intrusive Thoughts, Virgil runs to hide. The other dark sides - Deceit and Remus - notice him fleeing and want to try to get him back on their side.
Virgil locks himself inside a bathroom in the mindscape, and Deceit and Remus use their powers to kind of fake voices in Virgil's head (cue the green and yellow flash of eyes at the end). The Light Sides don't know Virgil was a *Dark Side*, per se, simply that when he "appeared" (in the Light Sides' Territory, as he had already been with the Dark Sides), he was always paranoid and would flinch when he was called Paranoid.
So Dee and Remus are flooding Virgil's head with possible outcomes where he's cast out, hated by Thomas and the Light Sides. Virgil is **freaking** out, and Remus and Deceit beginning feigning the other sides coming for him, with the knocking at the door, in an effort to get Virge to panic (the tapping from earlier ("No, you can't come in") was the Light Sides trying to check on him.). It works, but it kinda knocks him out of his stupor and he runs over what he's said, what he's done, and boils it all down to he's always been a dark side and he can't fix that.
He looks in the mirror, he hates what he sees, he sees himself when he was with Deceit and Remus, and he shatters the mirror and decides to protect Thomas from the shadows and hide himself from the other sides - both Patton, Logan, and Roman *and* Deceit and Remus.

Interesting thoughts
You know, in this context, I could almost believe that the bathroom is actually a metaphor for Michael's mind. He's locked himself away from the party without actually leaving it, and maybe the knocking is someone talking to him, but they're not interested enough to keep up the conversation, so he doesn't "open up" to them.

The knocking feels so different in this animatic.
I would normally think it was almost an audio hallucination that the splashing stopped. But the thing is, it’s not one color. It’s three knocks on top of each other, one cyan, one blue, one red, and eventually, one black. The others wanted to help Virgil they *wanted* to get him out of the bathroom and comfort him, they *wanted* to tell him he’s not alone. But, as Virgil splashed his face, they were manipulated to leave, to forget. Maybe I’m thinking to deep into this, but it was an emotional gut punch anyway.

I can think of _one_ thing sadder than Virgil in the bathroom at a party.
Person A's SO trys jumping off a roof, but A gets up in time to grab B by the arm. They are just barely dangling. Person A manages to pull B up to the railing, but A falls in doing so. A lands in a river, dying. B has a broken arm now and an SO in a coma. A was rescued by some ex friends who called them an ambulance. A is in a coma for an uncertain amount of time. B blames themself for everything horrible that gas ever happened to them or their "friends"/peers.

My story for this: Patton stopped being friends with Virgil because he supposedly made Thomas depressed, making him cut himself, etc. and Roman and Logan stopped talking to him, as well for the same reasons. And Virgil was going to be replaced with Paranoia. (Virgil’s dark side, who would be wake up by Deceit, obviously.) Thomas eventually finds out, and goes up to his room (the bathroom), and tries to get him to come out (knock, knock, knock, knock), but he gives up. When Virgil tried to open the door and saw no one, he was disappointed and knew they had given up on him. So he locks himself up in his room forever, protecting himself from them, and trying to forget.
Virgil needs a hug... 😭💜
