Late 1980’s, I was a busboy at the Golden Tale, a Restaurant near LAX... every Thursday they had a Jazz night, showcasing local talent and once a while a rising star. One of these nights a new band came, few people showed up. I did not have much work and decided to sit at the end to enjoy a live sessions of none other than Poncho Sanchez. To be honest, I never heard of him before but let me tell you, I haven’t stopped listening... what a talent and always surrounded by great musicians. Just a memory to share and loads of love and respect to these musicians.
Non ho avuto la possibilità di ascoltarli dal vivo. Ma ti assicuro che amo tantissimo questa musica, Poncho Sanchez è un grande. Grazie per la condivisione Jose.

El gran flautista Dave Valentín (+), en el timbal, Pete Escovedo (vasta historia musical y con hijos reconocidos músicos, entre ellos la timbalera Sheila E), el inmenso trompetista Arturo "Tury" Sandoval... por si fuera poco, "El Sonero del Mundo", Oscar D'León!!!
I had the honor of being on the stage crew for one of Poncho's shows. He was one of the nicest cats. Everyone in his band was great.

He's great, I have met Poncho 2x and I saw him perform 1x. One of the best bands around, for sure. I have also met Dave Valentin and Pete Escovedo.

Estuve en un mágico concierto en Caracas, hace muchos años, quizás por los ochenta. Nunca lo he visto publicado en las redes, no creo que no haya sido grabado. Un reto para que alguien lo haga. Por cierto recuerdo que fue en el teatro de un prestigioso colegio de monjas.

Fatsacks Allday, at the 00:15 & 00:36 seconds marks, it pretty much looks to me that the trumpet player shown is none other than Claudio Roditti. There aren't that many trumpet players who are into Jazz ands play a rotary valve Trumpet; instead of a straight up valve set up.
The Trumpet Solo is play by Ray Vega. A Trumpet player who sometimes never gets the recognition he pretty well deserves. He has played for the late Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, and Arturo Sandoval among many others.
Ray Vega logró robarse el show a pesar de los otros dos grandes trompetistas en escena, y las innecesarias payasadas de Oscar de León durante su solo. Bravo!
