I would also suggest for people that play on dpad/leverless in order to get a TK HVV after a counter to hold 86 and then do the DP motion immediately after the slowdown, which is when the game will receive the buffer of the forward jump.
This guarantees the air status before performing the input, since the game might eat the forward jump input if left too soon

I think people assume Garou is doing air HVV with the TK input, so he put it in the title to show what the tutorial is about, while the video explains that he doesn't use the TK input
