This is literally my favorite video on youtube. amazing footage, love snowboarding, love those slopes, love deadmou5. now if only i could get myself to go off jumps like that
me too : ) I've heard really good things about big sky! Lots of insane freeriding. Just remember that if you aren't falling, you aren't pushing yourself and learning!
I've watched this vid a few times - it's awesome! Not only are you throwing down some big tricks, but the fact that you're able to hold the GoPro and film yourself while you do the tricks is insane! Keep it up, man!
Tim this is why you dont have to worry about X Games. Your a pro at having fun and i think you just motivated alot of people to get out and ride now. Keep the hard work up and keep the dope edits coming our way! Peace-TC
fortunately for you, winter comes quickly in CO as well. Breck and key are usually the first 2 spots with jumps in the US unless tahoe or mammoth gets a crazy october storm. You can always hit up the open gym at woodward copper and shred the snowflex jump into the foam pit. It's always good to get some tricks dialed before the season. shred on holmes!
@dazma well, you came to the right person. The Shifty is a board that Jeremy Thompson and myself collaborated with Flow to fill a void in our quivers. The shifty is a regular camber board that is designed to be an all around park monster. It's basically the quantum, but softer. It's soft enough to really flex and press it on the jibs, but stiff enough to hold up on the large jumps. The Era is similar, but slightly wider and reverse cambered. I use the 158 for pow, and the 53 for jibbing.
These parks look sick! I've pretty much only been boarding around the Whistler/Vancouver area. I might have to take a road trip to check these places out!
dope vid man i voted for you for snowboarder mags rider of the year, u killed it in the flow movie and have crazy good style.Love your vids and hope your season is dope!!!
yep, its mostly all 720p60 played back at 30, except for the cab9 at dew tour, the tail 270 at northstar, and the gap front board at Xgames. those were ramped in after effects
A day after i watched this, I saw your name on the GoPro website and I was like oh.... damn... dude's famous.... And you reply to comments on your videos? Respectable to say the least. (Loved the GoPro video by the way, been using mine nonstop since i got it a month ago) Seriously so stoked right now that you actually check your comments and reply to people... That's awesome.
Nearly able to say i was the one doing the video! totally awesome Tim! Makes me wanna be sleeping out there in the mountain... shitty to say i broke my head while longboarding 1 month ago... Keep up the big jumps!!!!
@XxVinylsxX I dunno. It's just something you have to think about while you're hitting jumps and whatnot. I basically chant "light as a feather stiff as a board" 3 times to my arm, look away, then drop in. I don't ride with a camera in my hand every single run of every day. I usually just shred around for a bit, then bust it out for a few runs.
The fact that ur holding the cam in one hand doing those lines is pretty amazing. Would love to see more of your jib skills...I'm sure they're legit. Ever think of doing some handrails while holding the cam? That would be an awesome point of view!!
aaahhh yeah! I got the rep hookup from burton when I was like 12. They just gave me a board, some outerwear and some pro forms to get gear for cheap. I think I got the Team manager hookup when I was 16 or so. I didn't start riding for Flow until I was 19. I think I did my first backflip when I was 15. I had mctwists and stuff earlier, but the backie was a little late. Don't stress over tricks and sponsors though. Do what feels good and what makes you have fun. it'll all come to you.
not necessarily just curious about sponsors but you gave me some advice about tricks and it helped! cuz i really was stressing over tricks and im worried that im not learning fast enough like all the other kids these days... stuff is crazy these days
@TriggoDaAmigo hintertux in austria. that was last october. It's best right before daylight savings time. after that, the park gets in the shade around noon and really cuts into your riding time
I knoww.. you have no idea how hyped I am now that we're teammates on Neff :D I hope I get to meet him and fan out for a minute. His shows are fucking epic
@monsterschlaechter yuppp!! we hit up hintertux in the fall. It's the only spot to go if you're looking to hit park jumps in october! so much fun. I really like the area too. It's really scenic and the people seemed really nice : )
Hintertux in Austria. That area is soo nice. Flew in, took a train there, rented a spot near the mtn, and went boardin for a few weeks. It's the fall park riding spot for sure. It's good all the way up till daylight savings, then the park gets in a shadow super early. theres a nice hotel, their website is bergfried(dot)at that I've stayed at before too. Its super close to the resorts so you can just take a bus and they come by often.
I want to know what skifields this was filmed on? It looks like a very long flat run down on the first few scenes. I cant wait to get to the slopes this month,
yoyo Doug! I just made a handle out of 2 of the black connector pieces that come in the box. I just hang on to it. either that, or head cam is what I'd recommend. You also want to film in either 1080p 60fps or 720p 120fps and convert it w/ the gopro software. The whole point of the camera is to mount it anywhere, so get as creative as you want! :D if it has wifi and you have a phone that supports the gopro app, you can use that to help frame it up properly too! -Tim
@TheJacob1800 Hell yeah dawg! glad that you're out and shredding :D If you have the cheddar to get it and the desire to use it, then there's no reason not to! But, you might want to think about getting those bindings first :P
@UltimateCODClipz dont use the sticky helmet mount, it will break off very easily with the flex and cold, suction cup works longer and you can put it back on too, but for extra security use duct tape around the base of the sucker and a leash attached to your bindings :P
Man this video is awsome !!! I just got my Go Pro HD 2 for x-mas and I already have 17g's of footy bout to make a snowboard video at the end of the season !! I dig the wrist mount angle I might pick one up Sick video
@shadowblade145 Actually that's the reason why I'm asking. It doesn't look like a pole. Looks more like they're either holding it in their arm or using a wrist strap. Which actually turned out really good.
@abstraktcs where u too? were just gettin snow here, in newfoundland canada, marble mountain is only now startin to make snow, opening day is the 26th of dec ...
thanks homie! I'm just using a little handle off the bottom of the camera that I hold on to. It's 2 of those little black connector pieces that come in the box w/ the camera! Thanks for the props, go get some! :D
Hell yeahh! glad to hear that you're feelin the vibes. I think everyone would rather do tweaked out 5's, but double corks are what pay the bills I guess. They feel really good when you land them though :D
@pullupboy73 i just made a little handle outta some of those little black connector pieces that came with my motorsports hero. I think GoPro has a handle attachment they sell also!
@thecat7222 I just made a handle out of those black connector pieces that came in the box with my motorsports hero. Any sort of really short handle will do the trick! I've been trying to step my editing game up lately! stoked that you noticed :D
@Loocas22 Hintertux in Austria. that's the spot to go if you want to hit park jumps in october. just get there before daylight savings, otherwise the park is fully shaded by noon!
Wish I was 21 again, I use my new Hero2 (HumbleOutdoors w/free 16GB card and great price), a the slopes in Vermont. You are on a different planet then me... cheers my friend...bravo!
your good, maybe one ill be as good haha, i started varials, and 180s and intermediate slopes at big sky today so i call that progress from falling, i love snowboarding.
@MrArbora No cases there dawgg. Bashing off the windlip was the plan from the start :P All those marks were from someone else a day earlier. That was actually just a warmup feature I saw on my way hiking out to build a jump filming for the new FLOW movie. It looked good to get a gopro shot and ride my board real quick before I had to go shovel for a few hours to build a cheese wedge!
yessir! I got 1 more kinda ridiculous edit that I'm still working on from all last years footage, and some random stuff from the summer and fall. I'll put it out when I'm happy with it. I really only edit when I'm feeling like it. keep on boardin so you can reach your own skill level! Remember, it's all about doing what makes you feel good. I'll have some new hero3 craziness once I stop hurting myself and can get some filming in. bruised some ribs today : /
Awesome riding man. I noticed you mainly ride the Shifty and the Era. I have been wondering about the difference in performance between these two boards for this season. Any words of wisdom?
have you tried the gopro software? you can use it to make the 60fps clips play back at 29.97, or whatever you want. then you can do a round of color correcting in the 'step 2: edit' tab. it's nice too, because you can save the color correction changes directly to the clip's metadata without having to re-export. I use the protune setting in the camera, and auto white balance.
Hey! glad ya like my movies! :D First off, to make sure all my shots are looking clean, I clean off all smudges on my camera's lens, and both sides of the housing lens. To take care of the snow being too warm, you need to do a little color correcting when you edit. make sure the blacks are black, highlights aren't too blown out, contrast is good... are you playing your 60fps clips back in realtime, or are you slowing them down?
@beast3521 You can make them fit, but it's weird having something hard under a helmet. When I rode with my old pro-tec helmet, I had a channel cut out that my headphones would fit in. You could also put the band that goes over your head around the back of your neck. They fly off sometimes this way. I usually just run earbuds when I use a helmet now. If I have a helmet on, it's for a reason, and I don't want to mess with it's functionality.
@abstraktcs Nice. My buddy came up with a few similar options using some thin PVC piping and the tripod mount. I'd be interested in seeing your setup. Always looking for some unique ideas.
:D thanks You just have to go out there and keep doing it until your style comes out. there's nothing like mastering a trick to the point where you can start thinking about your style instead of worrying about the move itself
Whistler blackcomb is probably the best resort in the Northern Hemisphere and one of the best in the world, its Canada's biggest and best ski resort,it has the largest terrain park, some of longest vertical drops the steepest steeps, the most runs, and the greatest acreage of any ski area on the continent and it town is beautiful, Fernie is more laid back but its Polar Peak run is so much fun I think you would like it,its totally worth the trip definitely suggest checking it out
@UltimateCODClipz They come with helmet mounts, so that would be pretty easy! I think on the front of the helmet looking down your front is the best hands free option. shred on homey!
@Gevoraway You might actually be right now that I look at it some more. It's not as far out as it would be with the pole mount. So it might be a wrist mount or he's just holding it like a boss.
u know those black connector pieces that come in the box.. 2 of the bigger size ones of those. keep it lean, keep it mean, and best of all, it comes free with your camera
@theguy5279 They're all over, but the opening double line is at Hintertux in Austria! When there's a will, there's a way! You'll be out shredding in no time : ) -Tim
Tim, you already helped me before answering a question I had on camera settings now I have one more for you. I just got some free time to edit my GoPro footage from this winter and uploaded it to RUclips in HD but it doesn't look as good as yours. What specifications did you render your final movie too for it to look this sick? It's crisp as!
:D thanks dawgg! well, that's one of the perks of having designed 3 out of the 4 jackets I was wearing. I actually have the white pants up for sale right now because I don't ride for sessions anymore. on to bigger and better things :D
Hey! I've basically watched all your clips, and they're all so smooth! My Go pro 2 clips are really bad, even on 60fps. The sun always makes the snow kind of yellow in the clip. Is there any way to threat that? What setting should I use my Go Pro on, for better clips? Thank you so much!
This is literally my favorite video on youtube. amazing footage, love snowboarding, love those slopes, love deadmou5. now if only i could get myself to go off jumps like that
Thanks for all the props and positive comments on my new video!!!! you guys are the best :D -Tim
Still watching this in 2022!

Just watching this again to get me pumped up for the season! Our skifield opens this weekend!
18 years or so :D snowboarding is the best thing that ever happened to me
On of my favorite video... shared with friends stuck in tropical countries when you guys are riding!
Badass, i miss riding soooooo much after this episode. gets me pumped for next season
Tim this is why you dont have to worry about X Games. Your a pro at having fun and i think you just motivated alot of people to get out and ride now. Keep the hard work up and keep the dope edits coming our way! Peace-TC
Great video! It's always entertaining to watch the experts from their point of view :)
fortunately for you, winter comes quickly in CO as well. Breck and key are usually the first 2 spots with jumps in the US unless tahoe or mammoth gets a crazy october storm. Deadmau5 + Snowboarding = Something called heaven
deadmau5 is always an awesome choice :D
great vid
Just when the I was done for the season, you get me all fired up again! Need to make one to the Nero Remix too, Cheers and look forward to new ones!
Sunshine is opening in less than two weeks!!! can't wait, got my Hero3 on pre-order.
Nice one. Cheers! Still deciding which R to use all the time. I think 3 is pretty good. Enjoy the winter!
amazing video grapher and everything wow flawless clarity

so fucking good...smooth and effortless. When I'm in the air I look like a bird that got its wing shot lol. teach me sweet prince
Love the POV, and the music as well!
A) awesome video. Good editing, great footage, beautiful mountain. B) God damn, you have a lot of snowgear! Different jackets, pants, everything.
These parks look sick! I've pretty much only been boarding around the Whistler/Vancouver area. I might have to take a road trip to check these places out!
This is reason why snowboard is sick, dude really good job :)
dope vid man i voted for you for snowboarder mags rider of the year, u killed it in the flow movie and have crazy good style.Love your vids and hope your season is dope!!!
Ya i agree i love the feel of getting the big air on the cliffs its awesome.
yep, its mostly all 720p60 played back at 30, except for the cab9 at dew tour, the tail 270 at northstar, and the gap front board at Xgames. those were ramped in after effects
yeah i hope to be soon. i will be moving to colorado in a couple years so i will definitely spend my extra money on lift tickets or a season pass
A day after i watched this, I saw your name on the GoPro website and I was like oh.... damn... dude's famous.... And you reply to comments on your videos? Respectable to say the least. Incredible man, absolutely incredible.
I love listening Deadmau5 while watching your vids!:)
awesome job boarding, filming and editing, music fits the footage well.
I can't wait till i go :D. Unfortunately I'm going In late March -.- hope there is still snow.
i love tim humphreys! =) your my idol and are who got me into snow boarding. thanks!=)
lots of mountains! Hintertux, Breckenridge, Aspen, Boreal, Northstar, mammoth, Mt. Bachelor, some backcountry in AK, tahoe and Idaho.. gettin around

Dude this video kicks ass!! I hope I reach your skill level someday, please keep posting videos!!
Awesome video! Definitely one of the best out there. Thanks!!
Where were you at from 0:36 to 0:56? New Zealand maybe? That place look amazing!

@olliedapuck That double line was at hintertux in Austria. Halfpipe was at Boreal in Tahoe!

@pullupboy73 i just made a little handle outta some of those little black connector pieces that came with my motorsports hero. I think GoPro has a handle attachment they sell also!
hintertux in austria. sick park in sept and oct. it's good there until daylight savings, then the park is in a shadow too early.

moar ghosts and whatever I believe? it might be from the original ghosts n stuff track though. i forget which
@Gevoraway It was a GoPro pole mount I'm assuming. You hold a pole thing that will keep the camera trained on you the whole time.
yessir! I got 1 more kinda ridiculous edit that I'm still working on from all last years footage, and some random stuff from the summer and fall. I'll put it out when I'm happy with it. i have a hero 960 and i want final cut express to edit footage, also the locations look simply amazing

Awesome choice of music!
@22gfb I made it outta 2 of those black connector pieces that came in the box with my camera :P I think GoPro makes a handle for it as well!
:D thanks You just have to go out there and keep doing it until your style comes out. there's nothing like mastering a trick to the point where you can start thinking about your style instead of worrying about the move itself

@UltimateCODClipz They come with helmet mounts, so that would be pretty easy! I think on the front of the helmet looking down your front is the best hands free option. shred on homey!
So you were in Austria? Amazing footage! Amazing Song! Amazing skills!
Keep it on.
Best regards from Germany!
@Gevoraway You might actually be right now that I look at it some more. It's not as far out as it would be with the pole mount. So it might be a wrist mount or he's just holding it like a boss.
@fletcherjarvis Hero is r3, hero2 is r4 I think. it's the 720p60 setting!
u know those black connector pieces that come in the box.. 2 of the bigger size ones of those. keep it lean, keep it mean, and best of all, it comes free with your camera
@theguy5279 They're all over, but the opening double line is at Hintertux in Austria! When there's a will, there's a way! You'll be out shredding in no time : ) -Tim
It's a winter wonderland there. Nice video, what mountain is this?
Tim, you already helped me before answering a question I had on camera settings now I have one more for you. I just got some free time to edit my GoPro footage from this winter and uploaded it to RUclips in HD but it doesn't look as good as yours. What specifications did you render your final movie too for it to look this sick? It's crisp as!
These vids on your gropro always look sick !
amazing boarding and filming
Freaking awesome! Did you hold a camera in your hand or did you use one of those wrist mounts?
:D thanks dawgg! well, that's one of the perks of having designed 3 out of the 4 jackets I was wearing. I actually have the white pants up for sale right now because I don't ride for sessions anymore. on to bigger and better things :D
Hey! I've basically watched all your clips, and they're all so smooth! My Go pro 2 clips are really bad, even on 60fps. The sun always makes the snow kind of yellow in the clip. Is there any way to threat that? What setting should I use my Go Pro on, for better clips?
