Just building one of these and encountered the same puzzle mounting the magazine on the 2cm cannon. I worked it out it the end and it explains the MG34 being too close as well. When dry fitting I did like you, inserting the tab on the MG34 into the slot on the 2cm cannon. This is a mistake - there is a small indent above the slot which is where the MG34 fixes. The magazine pushes through the slot.
Nice build, for realism the wheels should be able to be glued with free rotation, so those protection triangles are not all pointing the same way. I haven't build a Rubicon model yet, on videos and pictures they look great for gaming models, just like 15mm battlefront plastic vehicles, full of detail for those wanting to go the extra mile with a gaming piece.
9:22 For those wondering, the Coax MG tab attaches to a small notch on the bottom left side of the main gun. The magazine part goes through the large hole. Don't force it. There was a small circle protruding out the bottom of the magazine for mine that i cut off. If it's too snug, use a diamond file on the bottom of the magazine till it's not too hard to put in and out for dry placing.
Nice kit bud! You must have read my mind.Been playing Sniper Elite on the PS4 lately and these feature quite a lot in the game. Thought to myself "I must get a kit of one of these". Cheers Herbert.
I'm so glad you put this together, Herb'. I was looking at getting this very model but wasn't sure about the size of the 1:56. I can see from this that I'd be better served with a 1:35 (although, if I could find one, a 1:48 would probably be perfect). Again, thanks for this, it's been really helpful. 😊
Sorry to be so offtopic but does anybody know a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost my password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.
The reason why the Mesh screen won't close is because you have attached the 20mm ammunition case wrong. The ammunition case slides through the gun casing to the other side.
I belive the thing you installed at 5:03 is a thing that helps you stay at a correct distance in a convoy . Unforunately I don't remember how it worked .
It has 4 lamps, if you can see all 4 lights you are to close, if you can only see one light you are to far away and if you can see two lights you are at the right distance. I Hope this helped

It's nice to see videos of more obscure models.
Also nice Sonderkraftfahrzeug 222

You nudged that model together nicely.

@Lian Van instablaster :)
Nice. I built the Tamiya version of this little go-buggy awhile back. Definitely went together more easily.
So glad they included Chinese decals
Good build video with some areas to be aware of....
Yeah, so many left over bits that I built another armoured car with the bits and plasticard. And there's still quite a few bits left after that.

I think I will join the shovel fight some day (means: Probably get this model).
a lot of detail for a little kit
Great vid as always H
Nice review.
Looks very good herbert. Can you show all your models you made in a video😁
Looks a lot like the bolt action kit except you have the gunners and *looks* easier to build

The 222 is the best armored car choice the Germans have other than the puma. Puma is significantly more expensive.
They should have made the Grenade screen out of Photo-Etch.
You should look at photos of real vehicles to help you build them. It helps big time. The gun was botched just a weeee bit. 😉
Yeeeeeeees more 28mm yeah
More bolt action? 👉👈
