I've been watching your videos for around 8 years and that crop of grass is the best that I've seen keep up the good work and never lose your enthusiasm you don't seem to let anything get you' down you're an inspiration
You do not need to apologise for your excitement about grass, that is your cows feed for the winter. You are safe in knowing that you will have a very full clamp. I reckon the clamp will be filled to the end. Can't wait to see.
That luscious grass made my mouth water Richard - imagine how your cows will comment “Mmmm, not a bad vintage this year, hints of greenery and farmyard muck with a back taste of nitrogen, a good year”
Thankyou for sharing , the grass looks wonderfull and I bet it smells great . I would love to see it in person . I live in the state , Utah we've had drought for years end of 1999 , this is the worse year . Love your vidios and kids and cows . And of course your Lovely wife , hi to her . How's the chickens doing ?? Don't forget ,oh I forgot ?
Richard had a really awful time of it earlier this month with the cows going out in the pasture in mud up to their ankles. They were really tearing it up!!! It is so good to see that things are going better now. Hope that he has a pasture for the calves to go out to so he doesn't have to clean all those stalls.
It won't be long before Jack is mowing, I did my first field at 11yrs and 11mths and 11days old, a number I'll never forget, even though 65yr old yesterday. (On a David Brown 990). When I was mowing, as soon as I could, I stopped reversing on corners, just did a quick loop left or right, saved gear changing and probably time too, plus wear & tear, well thats what I thought. Cracker Master, you and Harry a right duo lol
Richard: Do you have the calves out yet? The leaf on your grass is awesome. Love that SW accent, Richard. I find it really easy to understand. I am learning so much from you. Thank you. Loved the speeded up section.
@@thefunkyfarmer You left a beautiful trail of well cut grass. Your comfort when working is important. Please consider getting a new arm rest for your tractor, Richard. In the meantime, if there is a metal post sticking up, please cover it with tape...so you don't get your clothes or yourself impaled on it.
Hi Richard maybe you should talk to the lads in Malone in Ireland to see if you could get a disk mower on demo, they do them with skids for topping as well
Don't you need Amber Beacons on the tract5or when driving on the public highway with farming equipment Richard, or do you only use your indicators as hazard flashing lights
Does the time of day you cut effect the quality of the silage? I read somewhere that cutting later in the day meant the sugar content was higher and this meant better quality. Sorry if this is a daft question but I was just curious.
Another great video Richard thanks for sharing great to see the buzzard do you ever get any red kite up with you when you are out and about. And the chair arm wouldn’t of broken if you were on the massy with the squeaky seat
@@georgiaannbicknell6129 in a away. Yes family names but some names have stuck others have come and gone. So on our farm we had a field called the locking bank, the well field and one called Adam. Who knows why or how it got that name but farmers and workers would be able to direct people to the correct field perhaps.
A farmer getting excited over the crops he's grown is as it should be. Proud. Well done Richard.

That was so cute--the cows all wanted to look and see what you were doing.
Nice looking grass in that field. Amazing what some rain will do for the crops. Have a good day.
Thanks, you too!

Great to see the relief you show for getting a decent harvest, It must seem some times that mother nature is not playing fair

Some lads would pull down the old silage on the floor 👍great to see good weather
It makes a bit of sense to pull it forward, otherwise you might end up with a wall of unusable silage at the back.
Nice 👍 looking crop of silage Richard 👩🌾👩🌾👍👍🏴🏴🇬🇧🇬🇧👌👌🚜🚜
Back when my grandad farmed he carried a flag with him and marked where he ran out before going to fill up.
I like that idea it is very clever 😄👍

If I run out of fert in a particular place I unlock the brakes and drag the wheel to make a mark so I’ll know where to restart
got some cracking bulling heifers there 👍.
Time of the year again
I think it is good that u don't waste any fertiliser because then that way your hedge cutter won't have a hard time cutting the hedge
what about cutting in the afternoon for the higher sugars ..
Great video Richard. Lovely crop too.
That's a beautiful field Richard.
Lush!! Beautiful grass. Looks like a really good job of fertilizing.

Horses for courses, looks like the right balance for you tractor and your farm to me.
I think so too!

Yeah they sorted to Pembroke with one
Great video once again Richard, I don't think Ken Bruce has to worry 😜🤣🤣👌
you're right there
Tidy crop! 8 ft mower with conditioner would suit you. Start writing your letter for father Christmas 😂 Brilliant video 💪🏴
Thanks 👍
Looks like a good crop should get Ken Bruce to give you a shout-out. Would not think Funky Farmer would go to see culture club HARR-HARR
Cropmaster??
Why don't you take the loader off when mowing?
pop master on every hour all day on Monday
Good crop their ha I'd say if u had a bigger mower the tractor would be under pressure with that amount or grass would it ?????
If the tractor is hundred horse power or more it won't be bothered at all
Could you tell us how old your two mcormiks are? You need a quad bike
what you think of the mccormick tractors
You got a buzzard at 26:19 catching something.
Well caught!
Don't you need Amber Beacons on the tract5or when driving on the public highway with farming equipment Richard, or do you only use your indicators as hazard flashing lights
Only if your tractor has them then I suppose it's your chose

Yea after 12 is the best to cut for the best silage
Tighten the right lift arm so you can mow wider .
You did buy a new mower a few years back Rich, iirc it was that bad you sent it back in carrier bags 😂

@@thefunkyfarmer so do we 😂😂

Yup, winter is coming😮🤣
Great video 👍
he though it was the mower that would go but it was the arm rest.
I have a 7ft disc on our massey ferguson 265

Why do you name your fields Richard
Most fields in the uk have a name. I bet some are centuries old as well.
