As a pilot myself, here’s my take on his list:
English: Very important, for all the reasons he mentioned.
Physics: Very important, for far more reasons than he mentioned. This is the basis of how you know why the aircraft does what it does, and if you don’t know that you won’t have control over it.
Chemistry: Not particularly important. Many of the things he mentioned in the video are physics anyway.
Teamwork and communication: You need basic human interaction skills. Anything further you’ll get as part of your training (CRM).
Geography: Not important.
Mathematics: If you’re at a level where you know algebra and trigonometry, you’re good. Yes, I know he said in the video you only need the basics and not algebra, but algebra is pretty much just the basics of solving equations, and solving equations you’ll need to know.

@mairead h After a quick google search for what physics GCSE is (different name in my country), then I think I can say it’s not a requirement. A flight school may have it as a requirement in order to get into their own school, but no national aviation authority that I know of have any such requirements.
Don’t get me wrong tho, the contents of physics GCSE is a big part of flying. In everything from how an aircraft can even fly to why the different aircraft systems are designed the way they are. However, that being said, many students in my school did not have any more physics education than what elementary- and middle school thaught.

Great video content! Apologies for chiming in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Rozardner Flying Bird Reality (do a google search)? It is a great one of a kind guide for how to get pilot license minus the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my old buddy Taylor after many years got great results with it.

I was about to give up my dream of being a pilot after seeing physics, geography, mathematics, chemistry, but when I reached the end of the video I was motivated by his words. “Do not fear numbers, as they can be good allies when you work well with them”. - PilotAmireh 👏🏻 Fighting!
I'm sure you have no problems, so keep your goal in mind and don't give up. In Europe the requirement is math and science at high school level (high school diploma). You don't need to do very complicated calculations during the pilot training.

You must be able to reach the rudder pedals and operate them normally, and you must see over the instrument panel. The airlines can have their requirements and for example some airlines in the UK require that you must be at least 1.57m (5ft 2in).

Very glad to see pilot youtubers provide the new generations with valuable advice! In all honesty, you do not need to be a pro in any of these subjects, but having a general understanding of them will tremendously help you in this job. Technical understanding (physics) and mental arithmetic are something every pilot needs to know. I had an airline assessment recently and a good portion of people failed the physics part even though they were well prepared for the psychometric tests and the interview, you must not let something like that happen to you. @@clashnetwork9773 15 years old. Because I've read that minimum age for PPL was 17 years old and applications for SIA was 18 years old 😊

Nope, pilots are selected fairly precisely in order to guarantee them to succeed in the tough environment. Ya don't only need basic science and English, excellent management skills are required as well

Actually you only need to be 16-17 to learn how to fly. But yes, it takes longer if you want to become a professional pilot.

You don't need a physics background, trust me. I haven't touched it for as long as I remember but you can/will learn basic flying theory through ground school or online.
Basic maths is all you need too. Almost everything you do, are in 5 and 10s to make your life easier. Doing it when flying and navigating is an entirely different thing.
So you basically need money and good in english right?
@@eden6915 There are certain airlines that have fully sponsored programmes, so do some research!if not, there are alternatives such as joining the air force. Some companies would have ICAO minimum level 4 and some higher, so it depends.

You need English and basic maths, that’s it.
I know man this videos kind of misleading. You don’t need those 6 subjects they just help when it comes to studying things. In the Uk the standard requirements are about 5 GCSEs to include Maths and English so idk why you need all these school subjects.
Jack Lucas literally no flight school or airlines that I have seen requires you to have geography the other one tends to be science which I’ve only seen with L2
Come to Australia and airlines don’t care about these things. They care more about you having at least 500 multi and 1500 tt in your logbook and your ATPL subjects completed.
