Fantastic video Curtis! Thanks for providing this type of content. Would love to see another video at this farm showing his planting techniques for micros.
Full sun does amazing things to micro greens ---- the colour and flavour is more intense. I love this method. What a cost saver on mediums !! Great video 👍
You all prolly dont give a damn but does someone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my login password. I would love any help you can offer me
@Hugh Jadiel Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
yes.. need to let what organic material (roots) have time to decompose. The bacteria doing the decomposing cannot tell the difference between dead stuff that needs to rot and live stuff that needs to grow. After the seed germinates and actually starts growing, it seems to become immune to that bacteria. But until it does, its susceptible to decay.
I wonder if we had tables with hardware cloth or hog panels then this fabric, then the compost, then the seed it would raise up to save the back and knees. there is another farmer that uses window screen and recycles it, not large scale but interesting.
I wonder how that would work in a wetter climate, if they would tend to rot or if the dirt splash would be a mess. Might have to try a small patch next year.
@@gdelorey No, it's not. He said landscape fabric didn't work. This was an underlayment (?) for road building? I'd like to know what the product os, too.
What kind of seeder did he use to plant these beds? I couldn’t understand what his response was when Curtis asked him if he used the Jane Seeder near the beginning. Four pointer maybe?
I hope you do a followup this year on this farm and their microgreens. I wonder how they wash everything and if they put hydrogenperoxide in the wash water or anything....
PLEASE provide a link in the show notes to the source that he buys that fabric from! That seems absolutely crucial to this method of production since he said landscape fabric will overheat and cause mould. I'll check back again and cross my fingers you link it there because I would LOVE to produce our microgreens this way and cut out the time on seeding trays and money on potting soil.
Mr. Stone was wondering if you had anything advice for a farmer starting out up in the mountains??? I really could use all the advice u can give me please. Thank you for taking the time to make videos to help people out.
This guy gets as exited talking about his work as I do if I don't watch myself. A real inspiration!
Yeah please more with Wise Earth Farms John is so informative and eager to share! Great content!!
Robert Rudolph yes I agree!!! And are you THE Robert Randolph and the family band?!

@Hugh Jadiel It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my account!
@Fisher Zakai no problem :)
More more more from wise earth this guy is amazing.
Thanks Curtis! That guy was cool for sharing everything
Fantastic content. I love how passionate and informative both of you fellas are. Keep em coming. 👍

Would it be beneficial to add composting worms??
Really interesting Curtis. Love the new direction.
I bet micro greens will grow pretty fast down here Florida most of the year if not all of it. I'll get some going soon like this. Thanks for the vid👍
In Florida, they will for sure. Here in Victoria, BC, hey grow around 8-9 months out of the year, the rest we do indoors!
Great info!
Absolutely fantastic stuff.
Excellent content!

I was thinking something similar. Great minds. ;-)

Awesome video Curtis.
Please provide more information about the road fabric please. I would like to buy some.
THANK YOU U.F.!!!
It mighht be soil erosion cloth..
Looks like landscape fabric. Any hardware store would carry it

@@c.j.rogers2422 ah right on. The stuff they line ditches with. Sorry bout that
this is what I thought he was talking about
www.lowes.com/pd/Hanes-Geo-Components-432-ft-x-12-5-ft-Black-Woven-Geotextile/3316354
would be interested to hear about the processing program wise earth has for their macros
That was awesome... Love the details! 🤗
Great Post
I love doing field micros. Interesting he is not using boards or weights during germination... is that true?
What kind of seeder did he use to plant these beds? I couldn’t understand what his response was when Curtis asked him if he used the Jane Seeder near the beginning. Four pointer maybe?
A lot of good info there. Thank you!
Wish I knew the name of that "street cover." Where can we get some in America?
Great Job Curtis. Very knowledgeable video.
I hope you do a followup this year on this farm and their microgreens. I wonder how they wash everything and if they put hydrogenperoxide in the wash water or anything....
This guy is good. He needs a RUclips channel or to write book!!
Can you tell me more about the seeder used for the microgreens also the climate
This is fckin gold Curtis. Thanks for sharing!

I don't have a link, but try to be a little resourceful dude. We're in the age of endless free information. Can't be that hard to find.
Okay. He didn't say the name of it, just described what it was used for, but I'm sure I can do a little digging and find it. All the best Curtis
Sounds like geotextile. Looked heavier because it was wet. Thats my guess 👍
Where would you sell them?
Great video Curtis, I'm not quite understanding how he uses the 4point seeder after germinating the seeds first? Can you please explain?
Yes more info on the seeding please!!!
Mr. Stone was wondering if you had anything advice for a farmer starting out up in the mountains??? I really could use all the advice u can give me please. Thank you for taking the time to make videos to help people out.
Where do you sell your greens
Fascinating.
1. It is sown with the seeder or spread over the bed, by hand? 2. How much seed per square feet?
I like his pronunciation of 'cotyledens'!!!
What word is this?
With the sunflower shoots, is molding an issue as it in the trays?
How does he harvest? It could be really hard on your back if you don't have some kind of stand-up harvester.
he said it early in the video, it's all harvested by hand
Omegawerewolfx Very hard on the back. There are harvesters that may do that. They cost about $10,000.
I wish I was younger, you make this so tantalizing. lol
Its not really very scalable, been tried so many times, very labor intensive, but micros are Soo good! Thank you, nicevideo
This guy is very good. How many years in career does he have?
how do you control slugs with this if they're an issue here
Anyone find out where to get those black mat things?
Cool.
Will this method work in a hot, humid climate?
where is this?
Dope!
can I ask, what is the 4.2 seeder ?
Four point seeder. You can find one at Johnny's Seeds.
interesting af
Good idea, but a scythe would have to learned...
personally wouldn't want to hunch over beds for hours a week hand cutting micros, would probably charge more than $10/lb for that sort of labor
"macro" green= mezza greens
Mahalo Curtis aloha
Someone please tell him to use knee guards. In 10 years time, he's gonna cry himself to sleep. I can tell... I used to do same mistake.
I bet he could deadlift a truck ha ha, thats a lot of bending over but worth it
it's not just the one guy harvesting so the workload is spreadout
Omegawerewolfx obviously
