    My name's Minoo, and I'm originally from Iran.
    I obtained my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Diploma in England in 1985.
    Since then, I've been an English teacher, teacher trainer, and course director in various schools and countries. I'm also a trained confidence coach.
    In 2008, my son, Tom, and I set up the Anglo-Link platform for online English studies.
    This led to the creation of our popular RUclips channel in 2011.
    My passion is to share with you what I've learnt on my own English language journey, both as a student and as a teacher, so that you can become a fluent speaker of English too.

    I am a native English speaker, but I found this lesson useful because I plan to become a writer one day. Sometimes, going back to the basics helps me to use correct English and grammar.

    You are right. According to the order I recommend, 'heavily' should go before 'rained'. I do believe that I say in my introduction that my two lessons on Word Order are general guidelines to help you to make correct sentences. However, there are always exceptions and alternatives, which native speakers just have a feeling for. In this case, 'It rained heavily.' sounds better than 'It heavily rained.' and as NichMay24 says above, 'soon' can also be put at the end of the sentence.

  • @AngloLinkEnglish
    @AngloLinkEnglish  11 лет назад +2

    The 'how' usually goes after the 'where' and the 'when'. However, it is true that if there is a 'where' and a 'when', the 'ly' adverb becomes too far apart from the verb. In this case, I would recommend that you put the 'ly' adverb before the verb: I quickly solved the problem at home yesterday.

    The aim of the guidelines I give in my grammar lessons is to help non-native speakers to speak and write correctly and confidently. Listing all the exceptions and alternatives will only confuse and demotivate most of the learners. My recommendation to advanced learners who wish to know the alternatives and exceptions is to listen to native speakers as often as possible to begin to gradually notice the most common ones.

    After that you have to listen and repeat phrases and sentences spoken by a person with a British accent. The Premium Plus Membership level of our website anglo-link(dot) com gives you this possibility.

    extremely suitable for English learners. I myself am learning English diligently,and i find English very essential in many occasions, mainly because it is indeed an universial language in the world and with the growing competetiveness ,it is advisable that we should invest some time and money in this communication tool which is everchanging with the passng of time,by that i mean the new slangs and abbreviations ,so i hereby insist that we should get in touch with native language sources . This one happen to be the best one I have encountered. CHEERS . THANKS ,DEAR ANGLO. I want to be the best online student that you have ever taught...;) :)

    I am a negative english learner. I thought english woos a flat simplistic, peasant- language.And now I discover that it is one of the more COMPLICATED ,INTRICATED, DISCIPLINATED, DAMNED among all other languages ,included magyar, french, ulu- ulu-mazumba and chinese.
