I see Sterling the same way I see G&L, reliable, built like a tank, and able to withstand any and all abuse. If I were a struggling musician living in a van, gig to gig, I'd have a Sterling or a used G&L

Stingrays are sick. I love how fluff describes them as a combination of some of fender’s best designs. A mix of a strat, jazzmaster, and jaguar. Its got the cutaway of a strat, with the offset body and bottom of a jazzmaster/jag. Stingray basses are also sick. Probably one of my favorite basses. For the longest time them and esp eclipses were the staple of all the warped tour/ “core” genres

I got a Sterling Valentine in 2019 when it went for a “stupid deal of the day” for $400 and it’s my go to electric guitar for writing and jamming. The neck on it is perfect. Definitely gonna be first in line to pick up the chambered version with a Bigsby coming out in May!

I have the SR30 in stealth black, and I love it. I did replace the stock pickups with an EMG 81/60 set and I love it even more. It is currently my drop c guitar. Sterling has gotten pretty damn good lately. (And when I broke the trem arm Sterling replaced the whole bridge for free)

I have a Sterling JP70 and I absolutely love it! Everyone always complains about tuning stability but mine has no issues with that whatsoever. The neck is just amazing and I can't say enough good things about it. Stock pickups aren't perfect but none are really. Just my two cents.

I’ve had two Sterling JPs. My current JP150 is simply perfect. I don’t want a Majesty (not my cup of tea) and have always preferred the MM JP15 over the years that I’ve loved Petrucci. I bought it around £700 new two years ago, and I’ll likely never get rid of it. Great guitars.
I’m now hoping whatever Rabea comes up with has a Sterling equivalent in the future! 🤞

You can add coil split to all sterlings. They keep the 4 wire setup for the pickups and they just tie the other 2 leads together. Buy a push pull and bam you have coil split now.

I love my Sterling Jason Richardson Cutlass. The bridge post insert was loose and sank in the body when i got it, i only noticed when i took the strings off and went to restring it. Nothing a drop of super glue couldn't handle.
Outside of that minor issue, it's an awesome guitar, and as my first Sterling, im pretty impressed.

That color is soo sick that I had to have a Ray34 bass with it to match my Cutlass. The chrome controls on the Stingray and the slightly oblong body shape, give it a more modern look that isn't for me. I've noticed these Sterlings are a real dividing point for many guitarists. People either love them or hate them. What's weird is that the neck profile seems to be the first spec that the haters bring up. Many claim its too chunky and they couldn't gel with it? Yet the neck is the main reason alot of people buy them? I have these ape hands with long thumbs, which makes playing ANY shallow flat D shredder profile necks, uncomfortable for me. Chunky C or U carves with asymetrical profiles are what feels the best for me.

Nice tones on the guitars and nice solo even though I did not like the way he used the wah wah pedal that much, too fast on an off on the wah effect, I like it slower and more trippy the way it is mostly used but to each their own.
I like the Sterlings but for me at least in Sweden they are to expensive for what you get.
For the same price as their cheapest Cutlass CT30 I can get a PRS SE Standard and for their CT50 it is cheaper for me to buy a Fender Player Strat.
I do not think they are better in any way than these bigger brands to charge you the money they are charging you, roasted maple neck or not.
I think maybe they charge you more than they should and can for the brand when they should lower the price for what you are getting with their guitars. That 500-1000 $/€ market is a busy market with a lot of options.
