A Head of Lettuce Outlasted UK Prime Minister Liz Truss After only a mere 44 days days in office, Liz Truss has resigned as Prime Minister. This makes her the shortest serving PM in the United Kingdom's history. The UK tabloid was Inspired by a quip from The Economist, which noted that the period between the 10 days of mourning after Queen Elizabeth II died and the beginning of her political downfall lasted about seven days or "roughly the shelf-life of a lettuce." Less than a week after they decided to put that idea to the test, the lettuce has emerged victorious. Adorned with its own blonde wig, eyes, Mr. Potato Head arms and a haunting grin, the lettuce became an internet celebrity that almost instantly garnered a significant following and its own Cameo account. Celebrating its win over Truss with flashing disco lights and a remix of Kool & the Gang's "Celebration," the lettuce seemed to perfectly encapsulate the absurdity that British politics had devolved into. Many have latched onto the meme as a poignant allegory for Truss' brief tenure.

CR doesn't get paid by manufactures but their results are based on their subscribers survey. Pretty much the same people rate cars over and over and there could be bias or old perception from the same group of people who subscribed to this magazine. For example back when Toyota Camry had the "sudden acceleration" lawsuit, CR was asked why they didn't find any potential problem with Toyota? CR admitted that they did not test the Toyota Camry and just went with past reputation that all Toyota cars are reliable. It's equivalent to always vote the same pro bowl or all star player every year based on their past reputation and not how they performed in a particular year. By saying one manufacture is always reliable, it doesn't mean the others are not. Always shop for the best overall "value". It's not like only Asian brands have excellent engineers and the others are from inferior schools. They all know each other, and in many cases have the same training.
Just bought a Miata Grand Touring soft top, test drove a couple of Club (U.S.) models and found the Recaro seats to be too low and uncomfortable. It felt like the suspension was stiffer too. Have you noticed this as well? ✌️
We didn't drive the GT model at the press event in California, we had the Club with the Brembo package which is the same as our long term tester GS-P with the sport package. But a viewer just reached out to me on Instagram and he said, he drove a Miata without the sport package, the suspension is definitely softer. I wish we were able to drive a variety of trims to compare.
Good morning zach/andrea, question about upcoming Hyundai 5N. Does the sounds of the car when revving broadcast revs outside as well or only internal sound? Thanks zac
Hybrid - apparently Hyundai has a bunch of new technologies coming - ho ho ho - small car but bigger can benefit, they hinted the C4 hybrid could get something that is "oh so neat" .. next Elantra .. and they said the plug in hybrids are going to be revolutionized in how they are done. Oh very interesting ... "me thinks" .. the Civic hybrid if it is not revolutionary and just following the pack .. oh dear.
Why so many used CX-9s? Every reviewer I have seen raved a lot about the CX-9, At the same time most seemed to think the tranny was twitchy, it was a big on the outside & dinky on the inside, & had other issues suggesting it wasn't quite be ready for prime time. My guess is that a fair number buyers fell for the spec sheet & zoom zoom and then got buyer's remorse after living with it awhile. Hopefully Mazda will work out the kinks.

Well I am overall in favor of market-based solutions and admit the carbon tax is not a perfect solution, I will never vote for a politician that has absolutely no plan on sustainability and -even worse-denies climate science as a hoax.
The issue is that Canada will not make one bit of difference to climate if we stopped emitting tomorrow. With Asia, India and other growing in emissions, we can displace dirty coal with much cleaner Canadian natural gas, which hss 50% less carbon.
@@Motormouth... Doing NOTHING to address Climate Change is not an option. Canada is in lock-step with the United States with its 2035 vehicle emissions targets, so our domestic car manufacturing must be compliant to meet U.S. import regulations. Perhaps there are Americans who agree with Donald Trump's proposal to reverse EPA regulations if Oil & Gas companies contribute US $1B to his 2024 Campaign. Or, we can agree NOT to allow partisan Politics to pollute one of the best Car Review channels on RUclips.
Canadians are being punished by the current govt, forcing people into unaffordable more expensive EVs and it will not make a lick of difference so long as China and India continue to emit.
Don't think you are necessarily alt right just because you state actual facts about the disaster the electrification and all Net0 policies. The intentions were/are good but the implementation and mostly the knife to the throat approach is questionable. EVs are very polarizing depending who you are talking to but one thing is for sure, they are not a one size fits all solution to the current issues and certainly not in their current iteration (technology wise). And OMG trading a Golf R for an electric or hybrid ...that's almost blasphemy. for any car enthusiast 🤣
Nothing changed here. Pushing EV government propaganda. Two years ago you told me keep watching Scotty Kilmer's show with his old Celica. At the time I told you he had 5 mill subs, because he is an honest car channel blogger. Now he is at 6.2 million subs. He is telling the truth about EV s and he saving consumers money with his honest review. I don't see your subs went up 1 million.
You should try living in the UK. Useless government and no credible opposition. We're due an election soon. Who knows where we will be next year. In the meantime, I rarely extend my engine. Change up around 2500, maybe 3000/3500 for joining traffic. I've never gone anywhere near the red.
Your incorrect bout JD powers.. for example JD stated a few years ago the most reliable car was a Dodge (never true) & Buick is near the top of the list? A GM? Toyota and Lexus. Don’t have to pay because their reliability is proven by owners and their popularity. Additional note when Buick and Chevy start having higher resale values, then you’ll know they’re reliable. To date they don’t.
There's a thing called margin of error in surveys. Some context: CR's survey uses terrible methodology with a feeble response rate. Other than for models where they do get a decent response, their survey's reliability rating is weak and the margin of error is incredibly high on the lower response rate models. JDP, on the other hand, uses very robust survey methodology and its results are more reliable. That said, surveys of the nature of JDP's are probably accurate to around 5-10% 19 times out of 20 (that's the margin of error). So there will be models caught in the margin of error - some worse, some better. Same for CR although their margin of error for non-Toyotas is extremely high. JDP does not take money for its ratings but it does sell the detailed surveys to all manufacturers (Toyota included) and they all pay exactly the same and it's a six to seven figure proposition for manufacturers to get what JDP produces. There's no way those companies would pay that kind of money if JDP conducted unreliable research and they've been paying it for decades.
Gas models will be worthless when oil is gone! Google says only 47 years of oil reserves remain. I like ICE cars too! I own 3 of them but the change to EV's is inevitable. Also the Brits screwed themselves when the right wingers push thru Brexit, and they left the European Union really screwing everyone in the country.
We the people need to have the foresight to protect the environment and to advance to renewable energy. But it may take leadership of the government. That is what their responsibility and functions are intrinsically about. No need for the tone that this is somehow inappropriate. You are alt-right

I could be mistaken but I don't think they have reviewed this year's model of the Trailblazer on this channel only the Trax. I'd like to see a review though even I'm already sold on it.

I recently sat in a Toyota Corolla Cross in their showroom, and it was full of squeaks, creeks, and rattles in the seats.
Two in a row from the Miata .....when does Andrea get to drive?
Gas cars will be worth more when the grid collapses.
We been trying to get rid of our Mr. Carbon tax with no luck. HE won't give up.
As much as I love the looks of the Defender, if I wanted something reliable, I'd get the New Toyota Land Crusier instead, I mean it's not even available yet, but Toyota is just much more trustworthy vs Land Rover
Nice of Zack to teach how to pick your coffee Andrea. 😆 Good show Andrea! 👏🏻👏🏻☕️☕️

A Head of Lettuce Outlasted UK Prime Minister Liz Truss
After only a mere 44 days days in office, Liz Truss has resigned as Prime Minister.
I can only think of ONE car I ever put my foot all the way to the floor in ... a 99 VW Beetle. And that was just to go up a hill at highway speed. LOL Fun little car and cute as heck, but man, that thing was GUTLESS AF. LOL I'll take high torque over higher HP every day. Probably the reason turbos are so much fun to drive ... it's the torque.
Hi Andrea, Zack,
You are my favourite car reviewers in the world!
I was looking at the new Mini Cooper 3 door but I need the 5 door. Please could you ask your friends at BMW when the 5 door Cooper will be delivered in London and the US as I spend time in both. Thank you Victor
I love your banter, just makes my day! Zack went after the socialist, the piss poor quality of many companies and poor education of a lot of consumers at the same time and Andrea chimes in, yes they are paid off to get higher rating! Classic episode and all are good!!!
I have a real big problem with the fact that Mazda is still using the same archaic 6 speed transmission that I had in my 2014 CX-5, also, this is something that is not touched on at ALL, but Mazda doesn't have connected remote start when it's pretty much standard on everything now. Mazda's might still drive nice, but they are seriously behind the competition
It's still a very good reliable transmission, I would take that over all these CVT's that a lot of manufacturers are using now.
Zack,I think the word you were trying to come up with was "Horse Puckies". I think I remember that as being a favourite one of the Colonel in "Mash".
Amazing video!
Hi. Looking for an suv that will fit my 6’4 son. He has a longer torso than leg length. Headroom is an issue. How tall is Zack and what are his measurements for torso and leg length. Thanks
You two need to drive the Lexus LC500
EV is always a terrible idea keep the Golf R.
The faster you go the more the speeding ticket
what is the min torque required for a highway, just to pass by nothing spcl...
I'd say 150-250 tq depending on the size/weight of the vehicle. A full size SUV will struggle to pass with 250 torque
the cabbages must go, I don't care about the next one will be carrot or potato or onion, but the cabbage must go
Just bought a Miata Grand Touring soft top, test drove a couple of Club (U.S.) models and found the Recaro seats to be too low and uncomfortable.
I wish we were able to drive a variety of trims to compare.
want to see the GTI review as well!
It's coming 05/18
Love the show and we're great fans....
Thank you very much!
My CX 5 Signature Turbo has more power than needed but every now and then to pass on two lane highway i have been known to floor it to get the speed.
Good morning zach/andrea, question about upcoming Hyundai 5N. Does the sounds of the car when revving broadcast revs outside as well or only internal sound? Thanks zac
I may be wrong here but how can anyone fathom paying $70K plus for a Kia or Hyundai? ESPECIALLY when a Telluride and Palisade cost half the price
What would you buy between a Volvo XC 90 vs a Lexus TX 500h f sport?
I was fine until he said let's send a little wee check🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My wife says that I squeak and rattle, but she has discovered the wonders of duct tape.

if the speed limit is 100kh/h or 60km/h, or whatever it is where you live, why should cars have a top speed of 200 km/h? And I’m not a hater, but cars cause a lot of death. because people are too “enthusiastic”.
JD Power - you know it is how after you drive a convertible awhile you start to think the birds are plotting and those rain clouds are trolling you. Seriously the BS garbage I see against GM and Kia is just in the same league of when do people grow up a bit.

Brexit has been very difficult for British politician.
🙂👍
You should try living in the UK. Useless government and no credible opposition. We're due an election soon. Who knows where we will be next year.
In the meantime, I rarely extend my engine. Change up around 2500, maybe 3000/3500 for joining traffic. I've never gone anywhere near the red.
JD Powers such a scam-anybody who believes their phony recommendations and results does not know anything about cars.
Exactly
Your incorrect bout JD powers.. for example JD stated a few years ago the most reliable car was a Dodge (never true) & Buick is near the top of the list? A GM? Toyota and Lexus. Don’t have to pay because their reliability is proven by owners and their popularity.
Additional note when Buick and Chevy start having higher resale values, then you’ll know they’re reliable. To date they don’t.
Proof please. The Dodge was the 90 day initial quality study, we follow the 3-year study and Buick has been near the top for about 10-years.
@@djd2819 right on!
Yes, GM near the top of the list. Stop perpetuating the myth of GM is unreliable because it's American. The 80s called, they want their t-shirt back.
It will never be gone but prices and markets will adjust
Not true. There are lots of untouched oil reserves
Put the crack pipe down, dummy it is true.
Only 47 years! I'm buying more oil wells!

We the people need to have the foresight to protect the environment and to advance to renewable energy. But it may take leadership of the government. That is what their responsibility and functions are intrinsically about. No need for the tone that this is somehow inappropriate. You are alt-right
Payola you guys are being bought off with Mazda giving you a free test car for the summer. Of course now you’ll have only great things to say about Mazda now. You guys review brand new cars of course every car is great with 100 miles on it. Right. But long long term over years lots of brands are crap quality built. Like Chrysler or fiat or Kia or Hyundai or dodge or GM. As per Scotty Kilmer a mechanic of 58 years says on his channel.if people listened to you guys went out bought a Kia let’s say cuz you said oh it’s wonderful then boom engine blows like in the Kia soul
