- The drive from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to Miami can be quite daunting. If one is staying in Miami, I don't recommend anyone to choose FLL over Miami International Airport (MIA) unless the savings are quite substantial. The stretch of I-95 between FLL and Miami can be plagued with bad drivers, slow-moving traffic, and poor lane separation. In total, it took me over an hour to get to Miami from FLL for what should have been a 30 minute drive.

It is horrible
For whatever reason that drive on Friday afternoons is one of the worst compared to other weekdays. After 8PM that's a fifteen to twenty minute carefree drive.
I think they have a shuttle bus from Ft Lauderdale airport to Miami airport & vice versa.
I think you can book with private bus companies like Greyhound for less than $10 to Miami. I'm not sure how frequent the service is though.

Yep, the Metro Mover doesn't serve Fort Lauderdale!
You should have taken US 1S to A1A S and enjoy the ride and not the traffic. It could get bad on Thursday or Friday

Is this what you call "daunting", come to Paris in France and you will know what not moving during an hour will mean :), Btw, FLL can be a clever choice when you are not a US citizen, TSA and Customs are often faster than MIA, so the time you will "lose" on the road can be saved at the airport.

A1A is definitely more scenic than I-95. However, it will take longer as it is a local street.
