It’s distressing to see how parents could mistreat their own child-if they didn’t want her, why didn’t they place her in a care facility when she was younger? The way she was treated seems beyond unacceptable, even for a maid. As for Amelia, her intentions to help John were clear, but her lack of care was glaringly evident. Don’t you think that before offering help to others, prioritizing one's own well-being is crucial to avoid such pitfalls?
Most uplifting and a miracle as two souls put their faith in the only True compassionate caring love and kindness that had captured them at some point in their lives knowing the genuine of it all was worth reaching out to each other and trusting in the Heavenly Father who created True and Lasting Forever Faithful Love. Why would parents treat their own child like that? If they didn't want her why hadn't they sent her to a home as a little child? Even a maid wouldn't be treated like that. Amelia was trying to be helpful to John but she was also a bit careless to put it mildly. To put it bluntly she was stupid. Even if you need/want to help someone you must help yourself first. And how do two monsters like those parents meet and unite in marriage? Two like minded monsters! How did John start targeting Amelia when she almost never left the house? Those greedy parents should have known that if you want to sell anything you have to add value to it. Amelia was never treated as a human being and yet they expected to sell her at a high price. A wonderful ending!

When I visited my mom and sisters who lived in the projects in Liberty City in Miami...there was a girl who lived with her mom in a row just in back of our row. Every day..neighbors would hear her mom shouting out the name of her daughter..Normajean. One day..the girl ran away. After all theses years since the 1950ties... I still wonder about NORMAJEAN.
