Found this video over a decade ago at my record pusher. It was the lowest pricetac and i was cursed as i saw it the first couple of times. But eventually i stopped to take it too serious and took it for a laugh. It became a real party gag to watch this with friends. I do like it after all since it simply just are so laughable.
They were never meant to be taken seriously, they were taking the piss out of the whole LA hair rock scene, musically very well played, if Jayne/Wayne County had joined Poison, this is what you would have ended up with. Lily Savage the rock band. I was there for this show, and it was a great night!
Great stuff! I loved Wrathchild back in the day as much as Crue, Ratt, Quiet Riot etc. They had no money, the whole thing looks ridiculous and it sounds awful but I still love it for some reason. It was all so cheap and tacky but i think that just added to the charm. Screwed by their record company, left in limbo and by the time they were able to record a second album it was too late, they'd missed the boat.
@beowulven my bad, they are english, great album to have if you want 90 percent of your party to leave. those left remaining have issues. still love em

That's because it was heavily edited for TV. Some of the lyrics of the song were not permissible for broadcast, and Rocky had a bit of a problem remembering the lyric changes. So Cock Rock Shock, changed to Hot rock shock
wrathchild rocks.manny ramones and n.y.dolls influences also heavy metal too. real rock n roll,too cool for ''melodic rock''whips and metal nerds. rocky shades was also a member of discharge
A lot of people thinks this band is a Motley Crue rip off! How can you rip off something that wasn't around before this band was! This band got their influence from the Japanese Punk bands of the late 70's and early 80's!

Wrathchild were formed in Evesham, a small town south of Birmingham, in 1980 - a year before Crue - and they played small local venues with this image right from the early days. Yes, it seems a bit cheesy now, but only because every one else jumped on the bandwagon in all those MTV vids for a while in the late 80s...
No no no... they aren't trying to copy KIss. Have any of them got painted faces? Look at the date - Kiss had abandoned their make up by this date anyway. This is a British band - they took the look of the 70s Glam Rock bands like Slade, Wizzard and T-Rex and gave it a hard leather and chains image as they were playing metal. They started out with this image right from the start, about 1979 / 1980. Lots of other bands ripped off their image, but they were the first of the glam metal bands.
@beowulven They are wearing makeup - they ain't plastered in face paint to look like cats are stuff... They ain't the greatest band in the World by a long way - I don't like 'em much, never was a fan... but they didn't copy anyone, they were the band that so many other rock bands ripped off for their MTV video look in the mid 80s.
wrathchild does not sound at all like a crue rip off , much more like u.k glam rock of the seventies , but with eighties metal fuelled !!! enuff said ...
yes, steal their name teh american band didnt knwo about these guys at first but they did later, they were told about the boyz from uk, and still tryed to the wrathchild as the name of their band and were in a court case the the uk band, and tryed teh whol time to claim it as their own. so yeah they tried to steal teh name
they didnt get famous 1 coz the when they finally signed to a record label, the record company tryed to take all teh heavy metal and hard rock influence out of their music and make em only play punk, and then tehre was a big legal case with court and stuff, then after all that the american wratchild tryed to steal their name and there was another bunch of legal stuff with court. thats why they never got famous
I don't think they suck. This band rocks. No, i don't really like the singer's voice either. i think the voice of the singer of Wrathchild America would be better suited. lol
