Okay so this is "Rena and the backup band" Why can't I see or hear the other members? If I hadn't known them I would think this was a solo song. it doesn not sound like a song by a band. I really like the song BUT for a solo. The other members deserve recognition because they are as talented as Rena is. Literally the camera didn't focus on anyone faces except Rena. No one sang a line except Rena. The should all get their solo lines. They have amazing vioces. Everyone wants to see and hear their favourites. This is a BAND. I wouldn't be surprised if all the new people think of this as a solo song.

Rena does almost all the vocals, but Miranda and Nia sing backups. This is the studio version, but when it is live all of the band is a lot more involved. It's not as electronic live. Also, if you follow them on their social medias all of the band gets attention and is credited for the song equally (except maybe Iain since he is new). I agree that many people only know Rena but that's because she is the front woman, but that happens for a lot bands. People know Luke from 5 Seconds Of Summer best because he is lead vocals and the front man. The front man/woman is always going to get the most attention. I'm happy for Hey Violet. They're finally getting the recognition they deserve with their new sound. It didn't work with alternative rock. It just didn't. I personally wasn't a fan until the Brand New Moves EP. I believe they have big things ahead for them.

I remember jamming out to this after having broken up with my then boyfriend who was my age. I went on to date older dudes who turned out the same, if not worse. It's not about the age but the person or the characteristics that you look for in a dude. Maybe this will inspire someone to take a look in the mirror and ask yourself if you subconsciously keep on looking for the same kind of person who is not a good match for you. I know it helped me figure some stuff out.

If you never give anyone your age a chance, or give up after 1 or 2 bad experiences, obviously you're not gonna develop the social skills to build a relationship with someone your own age and then this song seems like the answer

Honestly, I totally disagree with the whole "you won't be able to relate to each other" thing. My parents are 18 years apart and they were together for 23 years and raised two kids, including me. Personally, I usually date women around my age (I'm 20) but I love older men. Men usually have to be at least 5 years older than me for me to be attracted to them, idk why but that is the way it is for me. My boyfriend is turning 27 in December and even though our age gap isn't as big as some others, it's still there and I don't think that it affects our relationship in any way. I tend to be attracted to men that are anywhere from 25-70, no joke. But I am completely of age so it shouldn't matter imo.

So when I was 19 I dated a 27 year old and needless to say he was terrible to me, he didn't respect my boundaries and did a lot to make me feel uncomfortable.
After that when I was 20 I dated a guy that was 21 because i thought someone my age would be more understanding but he didn't have the emotional maturity to treat me right.
