One comment not that off topic, but off topic.
One I read that Miku says that around 70% of their fan base live outside Japan. So my suggestion is that they open a channel for us, foreigners, to get the CDs and DVDs by download. One important point: with the same audio and image quality. Why do i say so? Because when I bought the last DVD I payed 1/4 for the product and 3/4 between taxes and freight. Therefore, the ladies received only one fourth of what I spent. If they have a site for download, I would pay the whole amount for them (band and record company). I think this is a better way to support our Band Maid.

The bass. The bass. The bass. Not boomy not trebly, juuuuust right amount of overdrive giving the rich thick boost, the short slide she uses to go up to the first note of the bar, the spacing between that first note the second and driving for the rest of the bar, like you're gunning your motorcycle engine, making this tune drive drive drive wham into your face. I'm dead.
The simple fact that they start the song with the bass and drums and that you can distinguishly hear the bass almost through the entirety of their songs got me yesterday when I just said "fuck it, let's see what this recommendation I keep getting is about".
@@blinkger Yeah. It's already like I don't know how many times I've replayed this and different takes / variations of this song, each and every time is like "Damn, that basssss!"
The only thing that makes this song sounds heavy is because of the bass guitar and drums combo. The other two electric guitars not so much.
If you are a fan of a heavy rock band, not necessarily looking for a true heavy metal sound, this band is for you.
Don't forget the Thunder drums, and the screaming eagle guitar.

The girl playing rhythm guitar is KILLING it. Very under-rated. Her on "onset" seriously.
Miku couldn't play the guitar when she created the band. She was originally the lead singer, but her voice wasn't strong enough. When they got Saiki for lead vocals they had a new problem: two lead singers. They had Saiki try holding a guitar to help with their on stage appearance, but she looked awkward holding a guitar so Miku volunteered to hold a guitar.
Over time, the lead guitarist taught her how to play, but it took a few years. If you watch the early music videos and live gigs they did, Miku can be seen just holding her Rickenbacker. When she got her Zemaitis, Miku became very serious about learning how to play. Now she is a solid rhythm player, po! 🕊️

Just for info, Saiki phrases “Shibuya Odorouka!” 1:05 is “Shibuya, Dance!” (Shibuya is the name of the place where the venue is, eg, if London, like Camden Town), “Ookii Koede!” 2:52 is “(give me) Loud Voice!”, “Motto Motto!” 3:00 is “More, More! (=Louder, Louder!)”, and “Shibuko Koiyo” 3:33 is “Come on Shibuko! (with a tone of “you can do better than that!”)”. Shibuko is the name of the venue, eg, if London, like The Underworld, and this venue have been hosting many famous rock gigs. The naming right of Shibuko was sold in late 2019 and it is now called LINE CUBE Shibuya (like Emirates Stadium) which is shown in the opening of the Domination live vid. But rock lovers call it Shibuko and Saiki as well.
As my knowledge of Japanese is essentially nonexistent, I am deeply grateful for your explanations here. Arigato gozaimasu!

Saiki live has such a passion and growl to her voice. Miku deciding her voice did not have the right edge and picking Saiki to be the lead singer makes this band unique!

Can't believe how much fun you Ladies are having. Was blown away by a vid you made in 2015, and this is my favorite tune on the "Day Dreaming" EP which has resided in the #2 slot of the 6 disk changer in the 2003 Honda my youngest bought me after I retired.
Who would have thought that a 65 yo worn-out old warhorse (broke to the plow in my prime, and am still amusing for dog-babies and little people) like me would become such a fan, but still have the Les Paul Artisan I bought new in 1977. I would play that guitar in my mind while I chased cat-eyes through swirly fog, and when my girls' mom made clear I had no future in that profession played hundreds more local gigs with my brother ( a drummer ) with it.
Lost my brother to cancer nigh on ten years back, but I know he would be your drummer's biggest fan. Me, I love you all; mostly because you tickle a wave of nostalgia to the days when Steve and I were annoying the neighbors from the bedroom made available after our 4 older sibs had left for the sheer joy of chasing a sound.
Not much would get me into a crowd even before the plague, but my dog-baby Maddie has given me permission to do what it takes to get the five of you to sign your disk should the opportunity to do it with a road trip come while the girls still let me run around loose.

I love your testimony. I'm 62 with grandkids. Played rock, jazz and classical music many years ago on various guitars., and am astounded by the unlimited talent and skill these young women display.

Happy birthday! I turned 66 in mid June and I found this group one night early this year looking for something else and became a fan. I also really appreciate Tokyo Groove Jyoshi who I also listen to on a regular. basis. I'm a medically retired driver and if I'd discovered this band sooner I'd most likely would have been listening to them most nights as I rode our highways.
Kanami{SamuraiSensei} is something else...she is incomprehensible...so mysterious...

@@jonasw3945 she's super solid, never slows down or goes faster, she never misses a beat, she's consistent, reliable, steady...
being a good drummer is not "the faster the better" or "the more hits the better", she plays exactly what's perfect for the songs, with interesting rythm changes and fills.

This track in a stadium with 50k+ fans would be amazing. For most western rock bands this would be their signature show stopper song. For these brilliant ladies it's just one of many they attack the audience with. Best I've heard in 40 years...
Low-key salty that cause of covid they missed out and the exposure they would have gotten at knotfest last year. The live stream they did of there set the instrumental cover of duality would have grabbed a lot of peoples attention

Saiki. She's commanding. She's dominating the stage. The princess has grown so well.
The trio is no doubt impressive, but they were already well-skilled when band the band started. It's about refinements for them.
But for the other two, we can see how much they have improved.
Miku, who started knowing nothing other than some singing, has become a significant power on the stage (can't forget that she does the heavy-lifting behind the stage).
Saiki, who was pretty robotic early on, and kind of didn't how to show / push her potentials, has become more comfortable with taking over the stage and extracting more of her vocals.
I am happy that I am witnessing their developments.
Saiki is phenomenal. She is such a fashionista l don't doubt she could have a great career as a top fashion model but l, for one, am glad she chose the line of work she did. Sacramento loves Band-Maid.

Absolutely incredible, totally amazing, simply stunning, superlative, superlative.....
There is a synth sound in the chorus and part they sing along with the audience. I have heard this track many times (like 20 already??) but I have focused in the live instrumentals every time so I didn’t noticed it until now. They blend very well with it, it gives more intensity to that part, but at the same time they don’t need it because the live instruments fill the stage completely. Very talented musicians.
Slowly but surely that first proper Kobato solo is getting closer and closer ... :-)
How do these ladies so well adjusted and pleasant off stage ( except perhaps the one on planet pigeon) embody pure rock souls. Kanami is transformed and is perhaps one of the most naturally gifted guitarists around and she is supported by a superlative drummer, gifted bassist and a wonderful singer - and the pigeon who is the cleverest of them all.
They’re incredible live. I’ve really missed out until now.

Exactly, that's why I love them event though there are a lot of excellent Japanese groups with female vocals, can't stand the high pitched squeaky mouse vocals. Then, there are bands like Band Maid, Lovebites, Mary's Blood and Unlucky Morpheus.
