hi, this was so helpful ty! one thing i learned (our school has dm lessons before the audition) is that the only point you really need to ‘hit’ is the ictus, trying to hit the and counts gives you a hitch in your conducting which messes with your rhythm. also if you’re still having trouble with your pinky, try taping your fingers together while conducting. i’m trying out again this year and am kinda freaked out about it, and this was lovely to find :D

what grade? also do you have to know how to play the instrument? i know got to read music very well but i cant play the instruments

How do you keep time without speeding up or slowing down?
Practice using a metronome doing simple patterns! Getting familiar with tempos is the best thing, and using a met is so helpful !
