I just played one of these and comparing it to the SLO 30 head, it does an amazing job. It captures the soldano sound, and easily fills the room. Worth it if you dont want a huge rig
Thank you SO much for talking about the crunch channel (and the clean for that matter). 99% of the people who demo this amp, use WAY too much gain, and it sounds like fizzy garbage, and completely misrepresents how articulate, and percussive that crunch or “plexi’ channel is. It’s literally the tone that defines this amp. NO ONE get’s that. Great demo, Kris!
Thanks for this great demo. I’m going to consider getting one. years ago John Jorgenson recommended a matchless SC 30 which also has a huge sound. Of course it’s a completely different kind of amplifier. Thank you.❤
Hi Kris. Brilliant playing - really love the sounds from this amp. I’d like to get one later this year just for home use and wondering if I need to get a load box or does the master control the levels to manageable volume for home use? I had a Mesa rectoverb combo & it’s way too loud pre tubes hitting the sweet spot & this is more my thing - thanks. Perhaps the Astro is a better option?
depends on your definition of "home use," but you would probably need an attenuator or something similar, to use the SLO-30 at the volumes most people say it sounds best at.
I've been waiting for a video of this amp. Even better that it wasn't the typical chugga chugga. You did a great job showing what else the amp can do. Thanks Kris!
is that a "Down" tease (by Widespread Panic) at the beginning of this video? Mike Houser was my favorite Soldano player, he's the reason I know they exist. RIP!
That's sounds great Kris I normally hate 1x12 combos cuz I have a 1x12 😂 it's the speaker in that one that sounds great! 2x12 would still be better for the low end rumble..great video man..
This amp can sound big. But it starts sounding big much higher on the overdrive master than mere 2. And then one needs to back off with depth, as the amp is „pumped” already.
Soldano is the Legend. Greate presentation and overview as always 👍. Kris, it is intresting, which clean channel whould you personally preffer as a pedal platform - SLO100 or REVV Generator 120 mk3?
Thanks man! Oh wow that is a tough question. 😅 I find them equally awesome with pedals. The SLO is a bit more chimey, the Generator a bit more balanced. Same awesome, slightly different character with pedals.
There is something that surprised me some time ago, and I still don't have the answer to this question. Since I started playing the guitar, I've tried all sorts of amplifiers and different types of speakers. I was really into tube amps, and I enjoyed changing speakers in my combos, but I was never truly satisfied-I always felt like something was missing. About two years ago, I switched to modeling at home . I have a Positive Grid Mini and Go, as well as a Fender Mustang LT40s. By chance, one day I decided to connect one of them to my big JBL Partybox 310 using the headphone jack. And it was a huge surprise. Not only did it work, but it sounded much better than anything I had experienced in the past. That's when I realized the potential of a simple headphone jack. It made me wonder why more musicians don't do the same thing-connecting directly to a PA system or similar sound system , like the JBL, for example. I still don't have the answer to that question, even though it sounds much better than any guitar cab or speakers I have ever tried in my life. PS: However, I've been dreaming of a Soldano combo for a long time, so I hope it doesn't make me give in because it seems to sound great. You can find it at Thomann or not yet.
Many do use headphones for a variety of reasons. Good sound is but one. No mystery among everyone I know. The mystery is why we do not see more on RUclips doing likewise...
It !looks like you're changing tone settings to show different sounds. If I'm correct, you probably shouldn't because that wouldn't be what you'd do on a gig. If I'm wrong, I apologize.
Good point! I only changed the settings though to show it’s tone in different styles. The two channels are very well balanced so if you find „your tone“ you can leave the knobs where they are and the channels will sound great when going back and forth. The only thing that’s not balanced volume wise are the clean/crunch modes of channel 1. Crunch is much louder than clean so you have to decide which one you want to use and set the volume for that. Then you have crunch-overdrive balanced, or clean-overdrive balanced. That’s really it. 👍

G12H-150 speaker is probably a lot like a G12H-75 Creamback which is my favorite speaker. This combo sounds insanely good! Great demo Kris!

I played one a few weeks ago, and it kicked my ass in person. Soldano is the best.
Sounds gnarly as heck, rocks in the right ways. Great demo and playing Kris.
Thanks buddy! It’s a combo that doesn’t sound like a combo, haha! Plus it’s a Soldano so it’s 🔥🔥🔥
Great combo but a little expensive for a 1x12 but I guess it is Soldano and the tones may be worth it! Thanks Kris!
Yeah true. Like all Soldanos it’s pricey. On the other hand it’s really special. Nothing sounds and feels like a Soldano. 🤗

I would like to know this as well!

That redback deserves a video of its own!

Cool combo great job on this one it sounds great man.
Thanks a ton!
Sounds awesome... oh... and those PJDs... so nice! I had the pleasure of playing several of them at Henning's at Gear Street last year...oh baby!
Thanks Laz! Incredible guitars indeed. 🙌

First *cool video as always Kris 🤘🤪🤘
😆 You’ll need an award soon. Most first comments in 2023 goes to… 😜🙌
Wow, this amp just sounds crazy...

Soldano amps are beyond awesome. Maybe one day, one day.
But TRex Binson first 🤤
Haha, I feel you with the Binson. 😆 I still haven’t had the chance to test it but I will! 🙌
Great review 👍

@KrisBarocsi Thanks a lot for the answer. And kind reminder - we all here can't wait for your album release😉. No pressure😁 .
@@michaelpanda-wq7cm You’re so cool man!! I’m constantly working on it. Currently finalizing the 5th song. I’m so hyped, you can’t imagine 😆
That combo is small compared to a super reverb or bluesbreaker. Sounds phenomenal though

Thanks Kris! I...might....have .... to.... get...one now...!! haha!
Slo 🤤
I always wanted to know how they got the caramel into the bar.....But after seeing this video that desire is gone!
Ok ,ok , does it go to 11 ? I love it .
It‘s a Soldano, it obviously goes up to 11 😆😆
Beyond reasonable price.
No footswitch?
Hey, there is a footswitch, I just didn’t use it here. Check the link in the description box for all details, features and accessories. Cheers
Ya mine with a channel selector foot switch
Ok ok, that's that's a nice Combo. But that guitar! WOW!
Haha, yeah, right? I love that thing.
That's a yes 🤣

@@KrisBarocsi Makes perfect sense. It’s a great sounding amp. That clean channel!
