Great comparison review! A different video than the others out there. I have the sculpted version and I notice the hat fits very well on the head. I noticed most reviewers have the artisan which would make sense that with the wool hair the hat sits differently because they made the hat with the sculpted version in mind for some reason. It still isn't perfect but pretty damn good.

Nice 👍 but I went sculpted and the hat fits perfectly I don’t know why it doesn’t fit the artisan? That’s weird, I went ahead and placed all the accessories the amulets are great and it gives more character to the figure. The little head I believe is his mom the sword & the knife not being diecast is a bummer they are making this a thing cuz other figures have been treated the same way, they are being cheap for a figure that cost over $500 dollars when you include shipping and taxes. 🤬
maybe its the fabric bandana the hat can't latch onto!

Nice looking figure for sure. I would have much rather have seen a comparison between the stoic faceplates than the smirking faces since the smirking face isn't very good on the DX15

I've had it for 2 weeks now, and honestly it's not worth it to me. The rooted hair is nice, and I'm excited for other artisan releases, but it just looks like DX 15.5. I still have the plastic on the hands and the accessories are still in the box, because I don't care enough to do anything with it. I don't think people that have the DX 15 need to get this unless you want 2 different looks and you can get the artisan version.

Yeah that hat gaff is inexplicable. And no diecast sword. The likeness though is uncanny

Awesome figure, but a pirates pirate hat is arguably one of the most iconic things about them and the hat being that bad and unusable is just unacceptable for a premium figure such as this, luckily he looks so good without it too
Great review, but WTF did you do to the DX15 hair looks like dude went on a binger for about 24hrs. I know you like realism but that's a bit much wouldn't you say! : )

why is the rum gone
both dx38ae and dx38 headsculpt is x2 better than old sculps dx06 and 15 (and is already expected) the only problem with the artisan is the hair the strands is a little off (quite big) doesn't look normal.., if i'll be getting one i'll go for the regular or deluxe dx38.
Every Video i see of this figure i love my dx15 more and more. I don't think that is johnny Depp personally. similar looking yes but dx15 has a better likeness especially when you consider which movie this figure is from. He supposed to look older like dx15
great review Will ? Big hat QC issue, no not hot toys never. Nothing is perfecto. Ill tke Qc with quality than no qc issue but falls apart year later. I see many flyways in the rooted. Wait for this joker its def an improvement but pulling hair out everyday easily
