Maaan, TFS made such a great first episode, but they ruined the 16 speech. They didn't want to do the "shonen loveydovey speech" but that was what made it great.
@@wenbluepirate3954 I don't know. I personally think they did it better. Think about it: in the original version Gohan didn't know 16 just he doesn't in abridged.The context is different and I think that's what works. 16 a total stranger asking Gohan to protect the life he loves doesn't really work it doesn't build the proper tension. it's still a great scene But I think TFS did it better because someone with an outsider's perspective is telling Gohan to let go of his restraints and man up. To that effect Gohan doesn't have to know 16 because 16 is telling him everything he needs to hear.
@@superpaytonmars8852 16 speech in tfs is terribly underquoted and underrated. It is so much more significant than the simple 'fight the evil' thing in DB. It's far more mature and relatable.

Not gonna lie, when i heard the news, this song was the first thing that came to my mind.

If I'm being honest, when 16 died I was way more upset than when i watched the original and when i saw this image, I actually cried a bit, 16 was the best character in the whole series

Think about what kind of person you’d have to be for your passing to be a global event like this. We lost one of the most prolific authors of the past two centuries, and the world is mourning. Even if sad, it’s still incredible. Beautiful even.
Despite how evil Dr Gero was, he's probably happy that his "son" went to heaven.
We'll miss you dearly, Toriyama-san. Thank you, for the laughs, the hype, the inspiration, and for reminding us limits only exist to be broken. 💔

in the episode 60 breakdown Kaiser confirms that is really android 16, with the reasoning for why he never came back being that 16 was happy in heaven, and didn't want to come back.

I just came back to this after hearing about Mr. Toriyama's recent passing. Just sitting here on the edge of my bed, thinking about it all, holding the Four Star Dragon Ball in my hand (The one that started it all and a piece from a resin set a friend got for me last Christmas).
Dragon Ball really means something to me. I was first introduced to the show when the Bardock Special came on the TV on... I dunno, it must have been 4Kids TV. But it peaked my interest. I didn't really get into the show much later during middle school, when a friend of mine shared his passion for the show. After that I found a site where I could watch the show and immediately fell in love with it. More recently I watched through DBZ, DB GT, and DB Super, and it only increased my love for the show and it's characters.
Before all that, though, TeamFourStar is the one thing that realy got me to truly fall in love with and revisit the show.
Dragon Ball is one of the many shows that has shaped me as a person and as an artist, and I truly cherish every moment I had with the show.
Every moment laughing at TFS's antics and jokes, their running gags and passion for their project.
Every playground moment where me and my friends would oretend to power up, go Super Saiyan, mock-fire off our favorite attacks and scream to the heavens trying to beat the most legendary screams in the show. It was magic for us. It was real. It was inspiring.
The persistence and never-give-up attitude Goku and his firends held in the most dire of situations is something that always inspired me to keep on going even in my darkest moments, and now...
Now...
I remember all of that. I cherish every silly little moment as a kid, and every scen in the show and from TFS that made me laugh, gave me hope, and had me on the edge of my seat no matter how many times I rewatched it.
Now I sit here with the Four Star Dragon Ball in my hand, just thinking about the loss that we as the Dragon Ball community have been dealt, and I just wanna say...
Thank you, Mr. Toriyama. Thank you for inspiring me through the years. For giving me hope and courage that no matter how hard things get, I can hold my head high and power through knowing that I AM STRONG ENOUGH to make it through my darkest moments. That though I may not be super human, or Super Saiyan, that I can do this. That I have what it takes.
And thank you, TeamFourStar... For helping me fall in love with the show all over again and find that inspiration and courage that I really needed in a really rough time in my life.
Rest in peace, Mr. Toriyama. You may be gone, and you will be missed, but your legacy will live on in all you've left behind...
...and in all of our hearts.
You know why this was so effective? Because most people don't really bat an eye at 16's death. Eve ln the series largely blows it off, using it as a plot device. They didn't even mention 16 after SS2 Goalhan began the final battle. He really got the shaft and, despite not having a soul, he was a really good person.
I FIRMLY disagree. He had a soul. And it was a pure one. One that wished to protect life.

I loved how they explained this: when Yamcha wished back those Cell had killed, 16 didn't come back because he CHOSE to stay in heaven.
Makes sense to me, if a robot can choose to love and do right on his own, there's no reason the powers that be can't create a soul for him...one as pure as he is!

@@Tecnofreek1 nope, android 17 was still half human like 18 which is why cell could absorb him and why he could come back. Where as 16 is 100% a metal android modeled after Geros dead son 16 therefore 16 has no soul because your vacuum cleaner doesn't have a soul either

I followed this series since I was 11, now I'm 16. When I saw this in the final episode as cheesy and as made up as it sounds, all of those years I was glued to this series, rewatching it, making jokes with friends about it, it all hit me. I broke down crying. Dragon Ball Abridged is such a damn amazing series and I can't wait to see it return for the Buu saga. I'll be attached again.

If you think of it 16, who was supposed to be the most reckless Android, was the one who really mitigated the madness of 17 and 18(look their differences from the future scenario). For this unicity he might be addressed as one of the primary causes for the humanity winning against cell( also a living creature, but far more reckless and wicked than 16).
It's unbelievable how TFS made his contribute emerge in such an emotional way, and very surprising to me. I'll never see him with the same eyes, what a character!

Nah no grudge at all, they ended it at a high note which is good thing but it has been there to cheer me up at some difficult times so just a bit emotional but then again if they hadn't created it at the first place, it wouldn't have existed to enjoy, so can't have hard feelings to these awesome artists..

When I saw this the first time I almost cried for Android 16. TFS made an amazing series with our favorite show. I grew up with TFS DBZA. When I saw they said DBZA was no more I watched the whole series again. At this part, I actually cried cause it was over for good. RIP brobot.... RIP DBZA... thank you TFS for putting soul back not just into Android 16 but us as well.
