Superman's model from KTJL is incredible. Massive frame and sharp jaw. Even his outfit is cool. I would kill to see more of him in a game that is actually good.
I'd say a pretty good solution for a superman game healthbar is to implement something like the old superman returns game had and essentially make it "metropolis' healthbar" and cater enemy npc encounters around events that put the city in danger. Maybe something like the bomb missions in arkham knight except it'd be intergang/lex luthor or maybe cadmus clone monsters tearing up the city y'know.

It's really just a system that plays on the entire way Superman operates, his main priority has always been the safety of metropolis and making sure no one gets hurt so it forces the player into the mindset of "ok, practically nothing can touch me but they sure enough can hurt those innocent bystanders". Which that can even be applied to Superman himself if he isn't careful with his own powers, in that game there's this heat vision blast that's super effective against enemies but it also harms those around you so that can lead to some possible missions in the game were Lex may outsmart you and is reeking havoc in a mall or something and you've gotta do your best to fend him or some lexbot off and try to take the battle somplace safer all while also making sure civilians aren't in the way getting hurt. This just feels overly gimmicky and awkward to be frank. You could alternatively just idk, be more creative and have the game take place during either a Darkseid or Braniac invasion who has an army that can at the very least hurt Superman. Look at games like Spider-man and God of War, the mc in either games shouldn't even be able to get hurt from the basic enemies in general, but for gameplay reasons, it's been changed. I don't see how this suddenly becomes an issue just because it's Superman now.

Otherwise yea you could easily make a superman game set on Warworld or Apocalypse and make it this arkham asylum vibe type of prison escape game for Superman and fill the world with random alien characters, I’d totally write that off as passable.
Superman in the comics was never super undamage-able. He was just extremely strong. You can make all the villains super powered with exo suits and make most of the danger be in their numbers, and maybe flying drones for aerial control/battles etc there’s a lot you can do you people are just extremely uncreative like these developers tend to be.
FYI, there is a weather change mod on nexus! It’s called skybox, it’s one of the most popular mods for the game :) you can make it sunny just like it was in the Gordon flashback
I'm currently making my own game. It's kind of difficult at ⁶ with level design. But what people don't understand is that making video games is so straightforward. Making a Superman game based on Rocksteady formula for Batman Arkham would definitely be easy. Heat vision would essentially just be a beam that comes out of the guy's eyes with "I guess meter and when it runs out, you can't use it, and it has to build up. There's so many different ways you can make a Superman game they just rather make games that people don't want, which confuses me

There could be a Basic Energy Shield that just blocks attacks from heat vision or freeze breath, and if the player decides to use heat vision, he has to rapidly press the button to overpower The Shield. Sort of like a mini quick time events. And I feel like an order to break the shield without the powers the player can just kind of combo it like in Batman Arkham Knight we're at certain enemies can only be defeated by combos. Rapidly punching and then having to dodge a certain AOE attack I have a lot of ideas if not hundreds
@@rlb1968able that's a really cool idea, it kind of makes me think that's something Brainiac would do, which gives me an idea: Brainiac's first arrival to Earth as an ambassador, he preaches to share technology that will benefit Earth and its people, however Superman gets a funny feeling towards Brainiac even though they come from the same place and decides to investigate, he finds out that the technology is a front to turn Earth's people mindless so it will be easier to gather its knowledge. Hmm, I kinda like it but could probably use a touch-up and a few revisions, maybe expansions. But back to your ideas, they are really good 👍.
SPOLERS FOR RED DEAD 2 and ALL STAR SUPERMAN: Honestly I feel having a Superman game could be a lot more interesting than the usual beat em up games, have some fun combat for sure and power mechanics but the core story could be based off of All Star Superman and have him find out he's dying and the plot of the game is him trying to help as many people as he can while he still can. Instead of tedious goon fights the open world could be filled with missions to help people, like in Spider-Man PS4/Spider-Man 2 PS5 with car crashes, fires to put out, civilians to rescue etc. Have a lot of it be optional if you like but doing them only helps you feel more connected to Supes and his cause. Helping people. I think that paired with his illness could be really good storytelling especially for a game where we'll spend so much time with him. It'd only help build that connection even stronger. Look at Red Dead 2, the low honour ending is there and just as easy to get if not easier but the story and Arthur as a character makes you WANT to do good, makes you WANT to help random strangers rather than just rob them
In a superman game I'd say have it so villains can only kill you in main story missions with kryptonite related items. In free roam have it like in spiderman where its just normal citizens in the city and have to random crime show up for superman to stop

Make Batman like a mix of Ironman & Black Widow, quick and lighter-medium damage but hes got the gadgets to make way more combos evening his dmg output (could also make him the only char to ooen certain doors, like MA, where Sups could blow out a wall or door). The rest of the League (Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Cyborg, Martian Manhunter working in their respective arch-types. Its literally not impossible, just need to right Dev team go do the work. Hell just give it to Crystal Dynamics and say "Make us a DC version of Marvel's Avengers" even if there were cosmedic microtransactions like MA for certain movie suits people would willingly pay to have them. Probably wouldn't happen. DC likes milking the Suicide Squad and Batman. Not to mention the Avengers game did fail and DC probably wouldn't want to do something like that (even though SS:KTJL isn't doing so hot either). Maybe when Gunn's verse kicks off something will change but I'm not going to get any hopes up. That's a pretty good idea though. Honestly, I kinda hope that they will make a JL Dark game in the future. Make it where you can choose to play as Constantine, Zatanna, Etrigan, Doctor Fate, or someone else. And then they can give each character a unique storyline that way there's a replayability factor to it. Doubt that would work though.
Ideally, someone will be able to make new "character slots" in this game, so you could choose Superman as if he's Nightwing or Red Hood or someone else. But that might be impossible. If it is, I'll settle for a "leap tall buildings mod". When you look up and 'lock' on to a ledge, instead of pulling out a grappling hook, how cool would it be if Superman just leaps up and then bounds into the air. Then from there you can glide like normal.
GTA is different, there is lot of tools inside the game to replicate stuff like chaos, explosion, fluds , you can make an ak47 shooting RPG bullets in that game but in arkham games you you can't change the game mechanics, modders don't have any access to the source code which means that they can't build up a new game you just can change the running speed or gliding speed, infinite nightmare takedowns, adding more damage during fights or enabling brutal finishers to the main game by mods

How to make a Superman game in 2024: Option 1: Set it before Clarke becomes fully powered in Small Ville, this was when he first discovered his powers so you'll have to unlock them all throughout the storyline, in the end you become Superman and even unlock the iconic suit. You fight other super powered villains throughout the town much like how the TV Show had other powered enemies Clarke encountered. Maybe this could be a telltale type of game more than open world batman style. Option 2: Superman is severely weakened by Kryptonite and even loses his powers (like in Superman 2) and so becomes a unpowered vigilante like Batman fighting against the villain (whoever they can be) who stripped him of his power, however Clarke soon discovers that he can still punch slightly harder than any normal being and much like my previous idea you have to unlock more powers throughout the story. This game can be set in metropolis and have enemies shoot Superman with Green Kryptonite powered laser rifles, that makes sense that it would hurt him imo. Those two games could be potentially sequels, maybe the second game is Clarke in Gotham city joining Batman before returning fully powered in Metropolis (third game): fighting against aliens, all of which are super powered opponents, tough enough to beat superman.
If they made a Superman game they could give the thugs like kryptonight knifes and guns and other weapons and say like lex Luther gave out them out to thugs to kill Superman and give him a health bar and that’s what makes him not be able to just knock them out with one punch or be indestructible because they have kryptonite and it’s making him weak
So i have an idea for a superman game i wrote a while back New game idea set in the world of DC Comics Its gonna be set in the DC world where u land as a kryptonian (not kal-el) you can make some changes to your looks and you can choose between 5 names (for voice acting reasons you cant set your coustom name) you will choose both your kryptonian and human name you will make tons of choices on what you will turn to be starting from where ur ship will land to how will you discover your powers and what year u will land like will u discover your power by helping someone, by killing someone,by accident where ur family died or will humans discover u upon landing and do experiments you will also choose between sets of suits ofc there will be different romances,are you joking around or serious and ofc are u going to be a hero or villian like you can be symbol of hope and a known hero like (super man) or you can be tyrant controlling the world like (injustice super man/homelander) or maybe u could be a vigilante thats kills criminals and u will also fight the police but u wont kill them u only kill criminals you will be mysterious to everyone but feared by criminals (superhero thats fine with killing) the game will have tons of customization,alot of choices and lots of endings and depending on the year you will land you will meet diffrent variations of the heros and there will be new things called meters like how people and other heros feels toward you the meters are loved,hated,submissive,feared and idolized how will you turn out to be a mysterious vigilante leaving a blood bath of criminals behind you stopping heros and police who stand between you and your way of justice,the greatest superhero ever known maybe you will create the jl (as i said heros Variations depens on the year so it wouldn’t have to be always the same jl or if you are loved and idolized enough yoh would create your own team with the heros you choose) or will you be the greatest threat earth has ever faced killing all the heros eliminating all hope controlling the earth seeking more control over other worlds and universes will you be a symbol of hope or a sympol of fear Its gonna be a choices game like the telltale games This is just a brief description there is much more details what do you think?

The demand for a Superman game is there, but game companies won't take risks and people will keep saying the game is impossible to make. I don't believe that developers are that lazy, surely they could create a game where the threat feels real.

It'll be difficult to make a compelling story and combat for Superman and put it in a game. Like we know superman is already a God. like a mob of people can really hurt him? so you make a game with all villains as supers ? and how is his lore gonna be translated in the game? Like it'll break immersion when you can't do what you know he can really do according to lore.. and you know how DC fans are very toxic, they are even toxic to this new superman movie in the making. so if you can't please the DC fans in a game, might as well give up or it'll turn out like another suicide squad... And even if there was a miracle you were able to make it successful people will always expect a bigger better sequel, Can the devs and the studio really handle all that pressure?

Supposed to see the symbol just over the highest parts of his chest and instead they cover so much of his upper body that it feels like it's meant to cover up the fact that the suit doesn't show a lot of muscle definition.

How to make a Superman game in 2024:
Option 1:
Set it before Clarke becomes fully powered in Small Ville, this was when he first discovered his powers so you'll have to unlock them all throughout the storyline, in the end you become Superman and even unlock the iconic suit. You fight other super powered villains throughout the town much like how the TV Show had other powered enemies Clarke encountered. Maybe this could be a telltale type of game more than open world batman style.
Option 2:
Superman is severely weakened by Kryptonite and even loses his powers (like in Superman 2) and so becomes a unpowered vigilante like Batman fighting against the villain (whoever they can be) who stripped him of his power, however Clarke soon discovers that he can still punch slightly harder than any normal being and much like my previous idea you have to unlock more powers throughout the story. This game can be set in metropolis and have enemies shoot Superman with Green Kryptonite powered laser rifles, that makes sense that it would hurt him imo.
Those two games could be potentially sequels, maybe the second game is Clarke in Gotham city joining Batman before returning fully powered in Metropolis (third game): fighting against aliens, all of which are super powered opponents, tough enough to beat superman.
Why there isn't a mod with flying animations, I mean, people've done this with Matrix demo, which wasnt't the original idea, but they did.
You can only do so much with the pre existing animations, this is unreal 3.5 limited game not an open source unreal 5

Its gonna be set in the DC world where u land as a kryptonian (not kal-el) you can make some changes to your looks and you can choose between 5 names (for voice acting reasons you cant set your coustom name) you will choose both your kryptonian and human name you will make tons of choices on what you will turn to be starting from where ur ship will land to how will you discover your powers and what year u will land like will u discover your power by helping someone, by killing someone,by accident where ur family died or will humans discover u upon landing and do experiments you will also choose between sets of suits ofc there will be different romances,are you joking around or serious and ofc are u going to be a hero or villian like you can be symbol of hope and a known hero like (super man) or you can be tyrant controlling the world like (injustice super man/homelander) or maybe u could be a vigilante thats kills criminals and u will also fight the police but u wont kill them u only kill criminals you will be mysterious to everyone but feared by criminals (superhero thats fine with killing) the game will have tons of customization,alot of choices and lots of endings and depending on the year you will land you will meet diffrent variations of the heros and there will be new things called meters like how people and other heros feels toward you the meters are loved,hated,submissive,feared and idolized how will you turn out to be a mysterious vigilante leaving a blood bath of criminals behind you stopping heros and police who stand between you and your way of justice,the greatest superhero ever known maybe you will create the jl (as i said heros Variations depens on the year so it wouldn’t have to be always the same jl or if you are loved and idolized enough yoh would create your own team with the heros you choose) or will you be the greatest threat earth has ever faced killing all the heros eliminating all hope controlling the earth seeking more control over other worlds and universes will you be a symbol of hope or a sympol of fear

The demand for a Superman game is there, but game companies won't take risks and people will keep saying the game is impossible to make. I don't believe that developers are that lazy, surely they could create a game where the threat feels real.

Like we know superman is already a God. like a mob of people can really hurt him? so you make a game with all villains as supers ? and how is his lore gonna be translated in the game? Like it'll break immersion when you can't do what you know he can really do according to lore.. and you know how DC fans are very toxic, they are even toxic to this new superman movie in the making. so if you can't please the DC fans in a game, might as well give up or it'll turn out like another suicide squad...
