Such a fantastic thing to do 😊. I bought a bike in California 25 years ago & did lots of travelling, couldn't really afford it but one of the best things I've ever done. You've got me interested in doing the bike share thing 😊
Oh definitely do it then! It's much cheaper than exporting a bike or buying one. Also you can try out different bikes and you know you're insured and the bike will be good! I couldn't really afford that trip either (financially) but mentally it was essential and absolutely superb. I'm going to go back again this summer!
A very different video from you Sophia. An interesting and open conversation on a personal level about some past events. I'm very sorry to hear you had a traumatic experience that affected you so badly. You appear to have bounced back and are in good shape. Lots of good things to come in the future for sure.
That's ever so lovely of you to say, and very encouraging, thank you so much. I don't like being sad or frightened....so I keep doing what I do and looking for fun. Sometimes though it all comes crashing into my head. I'll be alright though!! Oh I'm actually in America at the moment!!
Used to rent from a shop in Kissimmee in Florida, 35dollars a day including helmet, waterproof suit, it was a 1000dollar deposit which you got back on return with no damage. Shop has gone now, went back twice after that…. Happy days…..yes riding is spiritual ❤️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️great video 👊
Hello Keith, thank you!! What was Florida like for riding? And are you and Ronnie in Manchester? I was thinking about riding up soonish!! $35 a day but $1000 deposit!! That would be far too terrifying for me... it's lovely to hear from you!!
@@lionheartmachines2193 Hi , yes it was lovely riding in the warm sunshine, but it can rain real heavy and if you put your waterproofs on you just sweat, because the rubber that sticks to the road from tyres and then heavy rain it can be quite slippy , the locals call it Florida ice, I am still in Manchester and Ronnie is in Chester. Stay safe ❤️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️👊👍
Great honest craic and information ladies. Please do some more conversations. Speculating here. Of course PTSD is a complex condition, often involving a loss of any personal control of the trauma event/s. Leaving a legacy of loss of control of our memories of it. I wonder if riding/driving gives us some sense of control aside from the mentioned mind space occupation?🤔
A great place to ride in the states is the blue ridge parkway. Western North Carolina area. Absolutely beautiful. A lot of motorcycle campgrounds too if you're into that. Arizona is also beautiful along with Montana
I'll write it down and investigate on Google maps!!!! Thank you ever so much for your recommendation, I'm idly planning a trip in late summer and that's excellent advice. So, I thank you again!!
Glad I found this video. Lots of useful info in there. Rental in NZ was very expensive so I decided to buy and just have it stored there for my NZ trips. Not sure I can afford to also own a bike in US so this is a real option for me.
Sophia, another very interesting and entertaining video. I’ve only driven a car in America,it’s not something I would really want to do again. Turning right at a junction when there was a red light was a bit confusing, but at least there were no roundabouts which would have been a nightmare. Look forward to your next post. Happy new year to you X
That's very kind of you, thank you very much. Riding a motorcycle in the USA feels easier than a car for some reason...I'm definitely going to do it again!! And, happy new year to you too!!!!
One of your videos just popped up out of nowhere, so I clicked on it. Now, 3 random videos later, timeline all over the place, I'm hooked. You're a lovely lady and quite unique, definitely the first person I've seen with what appears t be a dead Duckbilled Platypus on the back of her sofa. Can you tell me if it's real ? I've just subscribed. 👍🏼
Haha, what a lovely message, thank you! I can't sleep and I've just checked my phone and seen your comment. Well, firstly, thank you so much, that's very kind of you. And it's not a duck billed platypus....but it's a beaver!! (with an interesting story....) the fur is glorious and the tail is such a weapon!! (If you're a beaver)!!
@@lionheartmachines2193 Well, if it is a "Beaver with an interesting story", then I would like to know more. Perhaps you could include it in the next video?🤔
@@Gary-Seven-and-Isis-in-1968 well I was going to tell you how the beaver came from humble beginnings, his father was a pit pony and he walked to school bare footed and yet he became a hugely influential, socially switched-on darts player. Or...I could tell you that it was given to me by the chap who's been spearheading the rewinding of beavers in the UK and Europe and it was cured/tanned by native Americans. @@lionheartmachines2193 Wow! To think I almost missed this wonderfully creative reply. He had a secret which no one knew about...he rubbed fish oil on the bull's eye and his superb sense of smell supplied the deficit of his not so excellent eye sight!

@@keithwaite5026 thank you Ronnie!! Marco and I should come up!!
I'm glad to have watched that because I was under the misconception that renting a bike in the USA would be very expensive.
I was concerned about that too until I found them....about £2000 cheaper than the one everyone knows!! It's a brilliant company!
A nice ride far away really helps to clear your mind of things that are bothering you. No better therapy
I absolutely agree, mental and physical freedom!!

That was fun, having ridden all over Europe for 25 years I get it, we are family 😊😊
It's great isn't it, this huge community of like minded people....
