same goes for the romance dawn (alpha/beta) one-shots & also the initial release date of FF7 for japan only for it to be delayed one month later into 1997
If the main playable cast of Final Fantasy VII were a pirate crew in One Piece, what would their crew name be, what would their Jolly Roger look like, what would their ship be called, and if they started off as enemies of the Straw Hat pirates, who would fight who?
I’m thinking the Gaia Pirates with their Jolly Roger being the Avalanche logo (the one that already looks like a Jolly Roger), and their ship being the Lifestream. For the matchups against the Straw Hats, I’m gonna be considering up to the time skip since that’s where I’m at and it also makes it to where there are the same number of characters. Cloud’s probably the easiest, he goes up against Zoro as they’re both swordfighters. Barret goes up against Franky since they’re both cyborgs with gun arms. I’d say Tifa fights Luffy, as they’re both brawlers and the emotional core of their respective teams to some extent. Aerith goes up against Robin since Aerith sold flowers and Robin has the flower-flower fruit (and also just based on vibes). Red XIII goes against Chopper since they’re both animals. Yuffie fights Nami since they’re the thieves of their teams. Cait Sith goes with Usopp because I couldn’t think of anywhere else to put him, although if I had to say an actual justification, Cait Sith is a black cat and Usopp had to defend his village from the Black Cat Pirates. I put Vincent up against Brook since they’re both sort of horror themed (with Brook being a skeleton and Vincent being vampire-esque), and also Brook would be terrified of him at first since he’d probably think he was a vampire so that would be funny. Finally, I put Cid up against Sanji, at first because I couldn’t think of anything else but then I remembered how Cid treats Shera like garbage, and I can imagine Sanji wouldn’t be too happy about that. But overall, I think they’d eventually get along since they’re all just trying to live free and fight against oppression
