When I worked for the Herald-Post, El Paso Times, Press-Enterprise in Riverside County, and Ventura County Star, cut-and-paste journalism would have resulted in termination. Remember Jason Blair of the New York Times? That was a nightmare for that paper because a newspaper/TV station's credibility and integrity is at stake along with that of the reporter,

Last year, I called a news editor at the local station in Santa Barbara. I said she needed to stop putting her byline on Department of Justice press releases because she didn't write the article, and it was plagiarism. When I worked for the Herald-Post, El Paso Times, Press-Enterprise in Riverside County, and Ventura County Star, cut-and-paste journalism would have resulted in termination. Remember Jason Blair of the New York Times? That was a nightmare for that paper because a newspaper/TV station's credibility and integrity is at stake along with that of the reporter,
