Im also doing a cpp opengl game, so far i have wasd movement towards cursor position like in fps games, a crosshair and a textured floor i want to implement physics rendering 3d models and maybe i will make it a fps shooter, its cool to see someone also doing game dev from scratch keep it up!
depends, i used coding tutorials to learn javascript, python and c# (i only know the basics though) whatever you do, dont just watch, or read try to code yourself as well. you'll learn as you make mistakes dont feel frustrated when you get errors think of them like puzzles you have to solve. thats the only advice i could give, im sorry if this isnt that useful
