Agate alley is such a gem here in Eugene. Thanks for shining some light on them. Cafe soriah also. Way to hit it on the head showcasing some of the best Eugene has to offer
Weekend brunch at Agate Alley Bistro is not to be missed. It’s our family’s favorite place for breakfast on the weekends. And Ib, from Cafe Soriah, is a gem of a human being. When I first moved to Eugene as a young man I stopped into his other restaurant called Casablanca downstairs at 5th street market just to buy a cold lemonade. His food smelled amazing but I was in between shifts at my two jobs and living on a budget. I was treating myself to a drink while I read the paper waiting for my shift to start. Ib insisted that I order anything from the menu and he would make it for me on the house. He would not take no for an answer. He made me an amazing falafel and he gained a customer for life. I never forgot his loving gesture and when I opened my own food business years later I too fed countless numbers of people for free. Eugene is a kind and loving town.
vinnie love your show. Bing watching and giving thumbs up. my Portland friends make fun of me for loving Medford, i will be doing your chicken pharma soon.
Agate Alley isn’t like that when you’re actually there, it’s pretty tatty and run down inside. The noise level is crazy and the food is marginal. There are so many other places that are better!
