Dice should recycle the repair system from bf4. You either escaped the tank to repair it from the outside or you waited long enough until the auto repair initiated.

plane buff tank nerf... yeah that's *EXACTLY* what we need. you know, cus a majority of people aren't playing assault and every time you get a tank, it get bombed with AT grenades and Dynamite almost before you spawn!

Ethan Dowell That's what the CTE is for, to test the new patches before they go out to the public. They update the game monthly to make sure the game stays in line. Imagine what would happen if they updated the game every 3+ or so months. People would be complaining about how little content there would be, and there would be a lesser importance for people testing in the CTE.

I’m happy about the Tank Buster Attack Plane. I mainly use it for dogfighting, so the higher muzzle velocity is exciting! At the same time, though, I’m triggered. I feel the unique repair cycle was part of what gave the landship it’s character: being quick to repair because of it’s simple parts, but not being able to repair that much at a time. And I’ll have to wait and see what I think of the F.T.-17’s changes. When will it be implemented into the main game?
rimer82k nice assumption! I actually don't like easy kills. I purposely use some of the worst weapons in the game and master them. Come back when you have killed a guy on an AA while in a plane an he is shooting at you, POST NERF. Also, headshot a guy on an AA gun with a bomb whilst being shot at. Howitzer tanks needs some kind of indicator of where the explosion landed while in the "enlarged map" when they shoot the cannon. Or something like an ability to switch between "indirect fire mode" and direct fire mode considering on how slow the projectile speed is
I can't wait for the plane buffs. I already use the tank hunter plane as it is so that's a nice buff. The dog fighter is my favourite. The only reason I use the trench fighter over the dogfighter is the flares. I never use the darts as they're horrible now. Dogfighter will defiantly become my favourite plane now
I'm a massive pilot in bf1 and the one thing that annoys me the most are players who get the mobile AA truck and sit in their base. They are still able to shot me from miles away and have little to no threat from my teammates on the ground.

What happens then? The thing is so damn slow and terrible at turning that I still get raped. There should be a system similar to the out-of-bounds system that, when in a tank, you cannot sit inside your spawn so that you actually can be destroyed by the enemy team.

Seems like none of the changes will really affect the Plane vs. Infantry matchup too much. At least, not as much as the repairable AA guns will. (However, I'm still a little salty that Support guns, despite *having AA sights as an option*, are so crappy at shooting down planes.)

The biggest issue with plane nerfs is that they are balanced to consoles. AA is WAY too powerful (yes, many would argue but try flying for yourself) against planes. Fighter is the only one it's currently decently balanced towards, as fighters can rather easily perform manouvers to dodge the enemy AA. But attack plane doesn't even have time to turn away from the AA before already dying to it within seconds. There are too many people in the game who simply go cry about planes being OP without actually properly testing them out themselves. Planes are only OP in good hands, REALLY good hands. 90% of pilots simply crash the first second something attacks them. Bad pilots go unnoticed, nobody cares, but good pilots get shat upon in the chat. Every, single, match, believe me.
Me myself I'm a tanker, I use every tank for a specific set of scenarios. My most used will be the light because of it's ability to be independently controlled by the player assuming control of the vehicle whole. The variant that I always use for the light is the Howitzer because of it's ability to multitask (by that I mean being good for infantry and vehicle annihalation). For me to hear that thr variant is getting a heavy machine gun peeks my curiosity just for the single fact that it's gonna be a trickier weapon to handle or to immediately make it adapt to a situation. For example: I'm battling off a heavy tank in Amiens and all of a sudden I see 5 enemy infantry closing in on me ready to ambush and swarm in dynamite and grenades. The heavy tank sees this and starts to push while making me retreat to where the enemy infantry is at already putting down mines behind me. The only option right now in my mind is to try and go forward eliminate the tank and then turn to use the heavy machine gu to kill off the enemy infantry. That's just one example out a million more that you can take out off a similar situation. Nonetheless (hope I said that right) I'm very excited to see how this change works out in the end.
About the night maps: I would like to see a thunderstorm for the dynamic weather cycle on at least one of the night maps! We only have one map that has thunderstorms. Bored of just light rain and fog.
I think the changes to AA are good, but I still think the max distance is a little bit high. I get that AA is supposed to be a good area denial mechanism, but they go almost half way across some maps right now, and that needs to be changed.
Was there a change in the characteristics of the Attack Airplane in the last update? When an enemy aircraft gets on my tail, I jump to the gunner seat and have had a pretty good rate of shooting down the enemy, because my plane (w/o me piloting) slows down drastically, enabling me to pour lead into the enemy. However, I noticed that my plane goes into a dive much quicker than it used to. Did they change the flight characteristics of the Attack Plane to make it do that? Previously, you could glide for quite a while unless you took serious tail or wing damage.
I really like having the speed boost on my bomber killer, but I can't wait to see how the emergency repair will help me in those desperate situations. I really am looking forward to having the faster repairs it will help re enable my teammates guns faster when we squad up in a tank
What I would love to see is the sidearm that was used by each faction should be available to all classes. That way if you want to get a little immersive you can equip the sidearm that belongs to the faction you are playing.
Westie my biggest problem some maps are only 700m big so pilots cant rly escape we need bigger maps or big plane radius so u can fly out very much out of the map
As one of those annoying fighter ace people, I think this will provide a very interesting mix up to what goes on in the air. The swap between the abilities with the fighter variants and the addition of incendiary rounds to the dogfighter is really exciting, as is the airship hunter attack plane getting speed boost and a more powerful MG. Also I am looking forward to checking out the different tank variant changes. Sounds good all around tbh, I cant wait to see them live.

Autorepair is gone, which is annoying bc as a sole Dogfighter variant user it was so helpful in a pinch, especially against the op af attack plane rear gun

I think that the heavy tank having the fast repear is OP because when I'm going assualt attacking a heavy tank when ever I do any damige to it auto repairs, so I think the light tank should get it because one good player can take it out with 2 or 3 shots with the AT rifle and 1 anti tank granade.

I'm not sure I agree with the changes to the mortar landship. It is, by definition, a support entity. After the changes, it'll just be another breakthrough tank, which is something we already have too much of.
The only things I care about in BF1 right now is getting Operations added to the server browser, and separate quickmatch queues for 40 and 64 man operations. I can't stand the 20v20 operations and when I manually join a 64 man it's an empty lobby 90% of the time.
Cannot wait for the close support light tank. After they nerfed it's ammo it became unusable. Little bit perplexed as to the nerd to flanker tank because it's specific to anti infantry
lots of times ive disabled a tank and watched it drive off or disabled the track and its drove off surely if you disable a track it should just go round in a circle much easier to finish it off.

I wish server settings would let you disable certain vehicles and planes like the a7v, the Renault etc, and I wish vehicle CUSTOMIZATION existed including behemoths outside of your game like soldier CUSTOMIZATION. and I hope they put cosmetic CUSTOMIZATION in the game as well and add the cancarno and the m1903 infantry and i'd like to see a they shall not pass back to basics
All the people using the ground attack variant in the beta were using it to dogfight. Once I learned to lead targets with it, me and my tail gunner could take just about anything that came out way with one or two hits. Fighters went down with one shell, bombers were a breeze, and a little maneuvering could net you an attack plane kill easily. I'll admit, it was kind of ridiculous, and I can see why it's damage was nerfed so badly. Buffs to drop and velocity won't be enough to bring this plane back into the meta.
The main change I'm sad about is the flanker light tank nerf. That auto canon shredding infantry is the main appeal of the variant. With that nerf why bother?
As a pilot myself I'll agree the planes are not balanced well at all, they completely destroy everything but as soon as one infantry uses an AA stationary you're instantly dead and there's nothing you could do about it. In BF4 if you were a skilled pilot you could outplay the MAA but in BF1 you're dead regardless of skill
passengers in tanks should be able to have a 3rd person view i think thatd make more ppl stay in the tanks, no one wants to sit in there looking out a tiny hole in the side!!

and the AA will be repairable now, compared to before where they would be destroyed for the remainder of the game
From what I recall, AA never was permanently destroyed. It would respawn after a few minutes (at least in conquest, anyway).
oh, that may be true, my bad. Either way, they can be repaired now with the repair tool, which should help a lot
Autorepair is gone, which is annoying bc as a sole Dogfighter variant user it was so helpful in a pinch, especially against the op af attack plane rear gun
EpicGamerzFail it wasn't permanent, but instead of it being completely destroyed and having to wait a few minutes for it to respawn again, you'll now be able to repair it if it gets disabled
trench hunter class with the fighter plane is my favourite tbh its crazy fun being a crazy bastard flying around bombing and gunning lol
Westie , I know this is far in advance but for the apocalypse DLC do you think that the Farquhar Hill rifle will be making an appearance!? It's an experimental WW1 rifle after all
I think that the heavy tank having the fast repear is OP because when I'm going assualt attacking a heavy tank when ever I do any damige to it auto repairs, so I think the light tank should get it because one good player can take it out with 2 or 3 shots with the AT rifle and 1 anti tank granade.

I personally play every type of style on BF1 (except medic still under level 10) so I will be looking forward to get my hand on these new changes. Just can't wait till Wednesday as that's when I finish my exams🙈
I'm not sure I agree with the changes to the mortar landship. It is, by definition, a support entity. After the changes, it'll just be another breakthrough tank, which is something we already have too much of.
I've been playing battlefield 1 since Christmas and the atrillary truck is just camping in the back with is very frustrating

Tailgunners on Attack planes shouldn't go 360 degrees. It makes the planes unstoppable if the tail gunner and pilot shoot at the same target. (On PC)
Remember when BF1 was being developed by a competent company? Yeah, me neither.
The only things I care about in BF1 right now is getting Operations added to the server browser, and separate quickmatch queues for 40 and 64 man operations. I can't stand the 20v20 operations and when I manually join a 64 man it's an empty lobby 90% of the time.
Cannot wait for the close support light tank. After they nerfed it's ammo it became unusable. Little bit perplexed as to the nerd to flanker tank because it's specific to anti infantry
lots of times ive disabled a tank and watched it drive off or disabled the track and its drove off surely if you disable a track it should just go round in a circle much easier to finish it off.
the new repair features for those 3 tanks are good, it take way too long to preform a single repair

i like all these changes in theory. only wish they would also buff the trench fighter plane darts back up a bit. they over-nerfed it in the last update
These changes are awsome,if you look at it from the bigger and full picture this are good changes,except tho how are you going to kill infantry that are throwing lots of anti tank grenades to the mark 5 tank or the a7v if the cannons take longer to reload,especially if they are on front or all around you throwing anti tanks?!!!
Sounds like a good patch. The tank hunter attack plane used to be so much fun but it is so crappy now. The should increase the splash damage on infantry tho

Yay!!! The howitzer tank was my favorite tank in the beta and since the 180 degree turret at launch, I haven't used it at all.

attack plane speed boost cooldown reduced from 13s to 15s? don't you mean from 15s to 13s?

I wish server settings would let you disable certain vehicles and planes like the a7v, the Renault etc, and I wish vehicle CUSTOMIZATION existed including behemoths outside of your game like soldier CUSTOMIZATION. and I hope they put cosmetic CUSTOMIZATION in the game as well and add the cancarno and the m1903 infantry and i'd like to see a they shall not pass back to basics
All the people using the ground attack variant in the beta were using it to dogfight. Once I learned to lead targets with it, me and my tail gunner could take just about anything that came out way with one or two hits. Fighters went down with one shell, bombers were a breeze, and a little maneuvering could net you an attack plane kill easily. I'll admit, it was kind of ridiculous, and I can see why it's damage was nerfed so badly. Buffs to drop and velocity won't be enough to bring this plane back into the meta.

Im a fighter pilot and I'm used to smiling to myself because attack planes were easy prey but this patch should make me work for it a little more.
what are the stats on the rate of fire per minute for the AA gun?
The main change I'm sad about is the flanker light tank nerf. That auto canon shredding infantry is the main appeal of the variant. With that nerf why bother?
As a pilot myself I'll agree the planes are not balanced well at all, they completely destroy everything but as soon as one infantry uses an AA stationary you're instantly dead and there's nothing you could do about it. In BF4 if you were a skilled pilot you could outplay the MAA but in BF1 you're dead regardless of skill
Still want a bar low weight variant and for them to get rid of the puzzle system and just make it to where we can earn them puzzle weapons.
I feel like the only thing that shouldve been adjusted on the heavy tank was its speed. It is just way too fast for its size

None of this should even be a problem. Dice should have added more content for the initial release and smoothed it out over the beta.
Dice needs to make a custom games playlist with only infantry maps like Amiens or the fort de vau
passengers in tanks should be able to have a 3rd person view i think thatd make more ppl stay in the tanks, no one wants to sit in there looking out a tiny hole in the side!!
